  • 2005 MPV LX--Bought 12/31/05

    Written by: jimmy1969 on Jan 18, 2006 5:06:31 PM

I bought my first Mazda product and so far I love it. I looked at other minivan choices, (Odyssey, Sienna, GM's) none of them came close to the price or features that I got on the MPV! Mine is a Silver LX with 4 seasons package and towing package. Heated mirrors, tranny cooler, rear air, larger wiper washer fluid resevoir. I got the Mazda "S" plan through work and great rebates. ... Read More

Hi everyone! It's my first posting, and I hope you can help me decide between 2 minivans that I have binders on (need to decide tomorrow). #1 is a 2000 MPV LX with 39K miles, price $10,700 plus a $440 dealer prep charge that I'm not happy about. Supposedly it will be mazda certified after they run 100 point check. This car has a few cosmetic problems, smell from dog/smoking, no ... Read More

I have had a 2002 Mazda MPV for about a week now and I am quite happy with this vans performance. although I cannot really compare with other vans. After this week I have noticed two things that Seem to be common amongst MPV owners: 1. The sulphur smell 2. Some form of vibration/shimmering on the steering wheel. The sulphur smell: Although this is annoying I am not too concerned since ... Read More

Written by: mshelat on Sep 15, 2002 9:16:27 PM

Hi all, Recently I locked myself out of my 98 MPV (4WD). The tow-truck driver used his tool to open the passenger side door-lock. The key was in the ignition in the OFF position. Interestingly, although none of the electrical devices were ON the battery dies. I got a jump start from the tow-truck. Since then the Check Engine light has stayed ON. After reading the user manual, I checked and ... Read More

Basurf, I think it it because they are also using the 1989-1998 model MPV, which wasn't as reliable as the current version. If you do a search of 2000-2002 MPVs, you'll find that there are a very few number of complaints. I might add that lemonlaw.com is a commercial site and is there to make money, not necessarily inform the public accurately per se, and I take this 'study' with a ... Read More

  • Question on Transmission Cooler

I just bought my MPV LX 2002 - midnight blue - with rear a/c, floor mats, roof racks. Got about $2500 off from below invoice. I actually wanted COASTAL BLUE color but I had been looking for over a month ... and they were either ES or LX with spoiler and no rear-a/c. 1. My concern is - if I had a transmission cooler, would that affect the warranty ? I ... Read More

  • MPV Engine

I've had a couple of Contours with Duratecs, including my current SVT Contour (200 HP 2.5L Duratec.) This is a Ford designed engine. Any Mazda sales person who tells you otherwise is lying to you because he fears your dislike of domestic engines. The engine was designed for the CDW-27 platform by Ford. The cars we've seen from that platform are in order, the Ford Mondeo (Europe only), the Ford Contour/Mercury ... Read More

Hi, I'm looking to buy either a Mazda MPV, Tribute or Ford Excape. I was leaning towards a MPV however this board has been giving me serious doubts. 1. Gas milage of 15 is'nt making me too happy 2. The leaning towards one direction concerns me. 3. Seems to be a lot of 1997 and 2000 used ones for sale. No 1998-1999's at all. Are these used ones returns from people ... Read More

  • Gee, gagp, you seem well informed NOT!

Written by: dnamartel on Oct 26, 2000 11:35:59 PM

An MPV was not manufactured in 1999, per Edmunds. Any sales are carry overs from 1998 inventory put into service in 1999 and are irrelevant as a comparison to anything.... The 2000 sales of the MPV are low. So it will be in 2001 and the bargains will probably continue, including into 2002. Why? Mazda needs to gain badly needed market share. IMHO Reality check. I bought a recent model used ... Read More
