Used TMV from $1,118
I have a 1994 MPV with 173,000 miles; I recently drove it to Key West and back to Stuart FL (about 500 miles roundtrip) I got 22.88 MPG with regular gas and that was with the A/C on!
Did you find out about the headlights. I have a Mazda 1994 MPV and the lights come on by themselves, unless high beams are on and now the alarm is now activated by itself, so I have to reset it by the battery every time I get in the car! Please reply to Jay pgarescleaning@aol.com
Its a 1994 Mazda MPV
I have a 1994 mazda mpv and i'm having the same type problem. I've replace fuel pump + filter + spark plugs + igniter what else to do
I have a 1994 MPV. 4WD 3.0 V6 W/Lockers. Two questions: 1) Anyone have an idea why after I turn the MPV off the lights come on about 1 minute later? They stay on for about 30 seconds and then turn off again. Then a couple minutes later on they go again. This continues until the battery dies OR!!! I flip the headlight control into highbeam? Any ideas?? 2) I have ... Read More
This is my first post on Edmunds. Just want to share my experience to thank you all for the information I got here in this forum. Our previous car was a 1994 Mazda Protege DX, which we bought five years ago for $2000. Mazda won our confidence and trust with this little vehicle. For five years, the only problem we had with this Protege was a leaking water pump at about ... Read More
Hmm. I'm not sure I WANT a new MPV (spouse's 1994 Corolla was next in line for replacement until crash). I don't know what I'll get from insurance yet, either. But raising rebate should depress prices of used MPVs (I hope!). Did the engine size change in 2002? I think that's when... I don't doubt the Nissan's reliability. It was the offset-crash test that made me hesitate. I LOVED driving it ... Read More
I had (sigh) a 2000 MPV that I loved. It unfortunately was the victim of a red-light runner (I think -- insurance adjusters haven't gotten around to looking at it yet). It would appear that we're going to have to get a new van. Ours was a LX with touring package. It had 91,000 miles on it and was scrupulously maintained. What would be a fair value for that car? Second, ... Read More
I went to my local Mazda dealer today and received the following final firm offer. 2001 MPV LX security pkg rear air roof rack MSRP $25,105 Offered at $23140 before rebate and taxes. On my trade: 1994 Mercury Villager GS: 79,300 miles, original owner, rear air,abs,cruise,7 seating, roof rack, alloy wheels, cassette, privacy glass,pw,pl,pm,pst, decent condition,no major repairs: he offered $4500. I believe this is low,but looking for opinions. They seemed to think once it hit 80,000 miles,it ... Read More
Okay,I admit it,I am a bit obsessive when it comes to gas mileage.I dislike spending more than necessary on something which will only be burned up,thats why I always use 87 octane and buy it whereever it is cheapest. Plus,my commute to work and back is 100 miles,so I am always in the gas station even with my 4 cyl. Camry which gets 28-31 mpg. I keep my cars tuned up ... Read More
Another interesting topic. I am comparing the 2001 MPV against my 1994 Villager. Yes, the MPV is much nicer in most areas,HOWEVER,it is hard to believe that in 7 years, mileage has not improved with the MPV 18/23,Villager 17/23,and the Villager is 353 lbs heavier! Once again, the auto mfgs are getting away with classifying minivans as 'trucks'and thus allowed to pass off inferior engineering on the consumer. I also blame the FORD ... Read More
I am writing to bring some closure to my posting earlier last month, and to thank Steve, and everyone who responded, especially my fellow Michiganian, who suggested Ferndale. On Monday, April 2, I took delivery of our brand new, 2000 MPV ES from Metro Mazda in Ferndale, Michigan. This vehicle is fully loaded, including a moonroof, fog lamps, 6 disc CD changer, etc. The MSRP was almost $29,000 US, with an ... Read More
Forgive me if I am jumping in the middle of some threads. . . am really frustrated with Mazda. The MPV is the compromise vehicle between my husband and myself (the other choices are the Ody or the Grand Caravan). At any rate, have tried priceline, at $500 below invoice with no takers. The dealers in our area are stuck at approximately $23500 for a LX equipped with the security package, ... Read More
I've had a couple of Contours with Duratecs, including my current SVT Contour (200 HP 2.5L Duratec.) This is a Ford designed engine. Any Mazda sales person who tells you otherwise is lying to you because he fears your dislike of domestic engines. The engine was designed for the CDW-27 platform by Ford. The cars we've seen from that platform are in order, the Ford Mondeo (Europe only), the Ford Contour/Mercury ... Read More
To cinka1 on 2001 Engine query. I suspect that it's just wishful thinking on the part of the dealer, but there is some logic behind the 30 more HP engine claim. The Contour SVT has a version of the Duratec 2.5 that gets 200 HP vs. 170 for the standard Contour engine - and also gets slightly better mileage! I hope there is some truth to this, as the main thing ... Read More
