    There is a very good independent repair shop in Rancho Cucamonga that specializes in Jaguars and Fords. Robert is the owner and Kenny is the best Jaguar tech and is factory trained.     I don't know if you've received an answer yet but here ya go: I had the same problem with the drive side window. The crunching, crackling sound is the wire fraying. Once the wire is frayed the motor can no longer coil and uncoil the wire which is why the window doesn't move.     If you took the car to them about the transmission problem before the warranty expired and they didn't fix it, you should be able to get them to pay if you either take them to court or talk to Jaguar customer service.
