Purchased and '07 Acadia in 2010 with 13000 miles on it. For the last 3 years for the most part it was problem free. Early this summer it developed a vibration problem. I naturally though it was the tires and had them balanced, balanced and balanced again to no avail. Tires were 2 years old so not much else I could do. Had a local garage look at it to see ... If your ac no longer cools the car, you can be assured there is no freon entering your vehicle. Your vehicle has already released all the R134a into the atmosphere thus adding to global warming.
We have a severe problem with our 2011 GMC Acadia SLT's HVAC system - it no longer works. It blows air, but also allows Freon to escape into the cabin of the car whenever you open the vents. That said, there was a burning smell about a month ago and then the air conditioner quit - in the middle of summer. No it appears the heat no longer works either. The ... Read More
The same thing happened to my wife and I on Thursday. GMC called today and said the oil had metal shavings in it. I too am afraid they are trying to imply owner negligence. Not sure what to do/feel. We purchased our 2011 GMC Acadia SLT because I loved the look and the space available for a comfortable ride. I even did my homework before purchasing. Friends of mine had one that was older and said the transmission is junk. If I was set on buying a GMC Acadia then I would want to make sure the transmission would hold especially on a slight incline. Not even a large hill. ... Read More
Amazing how I just went thru a similar experience. Vehicle lost power on highway, check engine light came on. The vehicle would not shift out of first gear. I then commenced to ask questions how they would have become clogged as GM was the last ... Read More

Hi In Oct 2012 our 2011 Acadia caught on fire while parked. GM is trying to settle it as product liability instead of through the Lemon Law act. We are having a similar problem that I see others on this forum are having. We purchased our used 2009 GMC Acadia SLT in 2011. Sarah that's to funny but yes we are in Canada. I just picked the Acadia up from the "shop" today and they said that it was some loose fuses. jpf-thanks for the info, I will look into it!
"Reduced engine power" problems are typically related to the throttle body or gas pedal cable. Other GM vehicles also have this problem. For example, check out the Impala forums for this problem. Good luck.
todd_jodie, Correct me if I'm wrong - I see that you used the English spelling of shop (shoppe) - are you writing from outside of the US? I only ask to see if I will be able to offer our assistance or if I will need to refer you elsewhere. Sarah, GM Customer Service

I just purchased a 2011 GMC Acadia with 18,000 miles on it. My fuel economy completely destroys my budget. The best I have got is 17.4 when more than 70% of my drive is highway miles. If it is all city it gets around 13-14 I never would have bought it if I knew what I was paying for. I am going t.o lose a lot of money trading this in. ... Read More
davidswi, What state do you live in? Does anyone on the forum live in Atlanta or elsewhere in GA?
I purchased my 2007 GMC Acadia LT used in March 2011. I should have known to cancel my paperwork and run fast away from this lemon, when the dealer could not give me the SUV after all the paperwork was sighed mind you. Because they were having trouble with the timing belt change out, 25,000 miles. They had it for over 2 weeks. Then I noticed that my drivers side running ... Read More
My 2010 SLT Acadia is the worst car I have owned. WHat makes it worse is G.M. Acting like I'm the only one getting poor milage. Driving in attempt to get milage, the best I get is 20mpg highway. That coasting through towns slow acceleration and driving 58mph in cruise on flat roads. Finally today my service advisor at the dealership said that's the milage they are getting. And that his ... Wow glad I stopped by here. Was looking at Terrain Forum and their gas mileage is also terrible along with Equinox owners with 4 cyl engines. Was going to look at Acadia but looks like I am back to European or Japanese cars. My runabout is a 2011 VW Jetta Diesel 45 mpg is common every morning when I drive to work. Has been flawless. These cars are the best kept ... Read More

I am pushing the dealer to take my car back, (lease) and refund the deposit. They acted like my problem was isolated, but of course it is no problem. I think there are enough of us to do a class action! Gas is to high to be stuck with a new SUV that doesnt do what the rating states! Not even close!
I have 2600 miles on a 2011 Acadia Denali the gas milage is horrific. Been to the dealer, but of course everything is "fine". I am averaging 14 mpg with 90% of the driving on a highway. I will never buy a GM product again. I also have a Nissan Armada hich gets 17 - 19 mpg driving the same route I take my Acadia. The rating is completely false. Never ... Read More

Hi Tricia - please forward Christina's email and I will follow up with her. I see quite a few replies and condolences from GMC representatives. Are there any proactive measures being done on your end? There seems to be alot of your customers online complaining about the same problem. the under inflated tire response doesn't appear to resolve the problem. i really hate that I paid cash for the vehicle. Otherwise ... Read More
