Used TMV from $1,019
You can order a used trans thru the net, might be cheaper but, if the engine is not in good condition or electrical. No one I know has xray vision. I got ride of my 1995 only AFTER TRANS started to slip and died on me. I put everything in it, I spent 2k from both drive shafts to new braking system. I got $100 bucks trade in when I pushed ... WOW... sounds like a similar problem that I'm fighting right now in a 2002 Grand Caravan. It's got 105K miles and dies at stop lights, going around corners and sputters when you put it in reverse. In neutral, the car maintains a constant 1000 RPM. Slide it in drive and apply throttle and it sputters (light surge and bucking) and then stall. It's been in the shop (local shade tree mechanic ... Lately I've been noticing kind of a creaking noise beneath my driver's side front tire...sometimes when I go over a bump, sometimes if I stop quickly--it's just as it's coming to a complete stop--and sometimes when turning. I don't think it's the ball joints because for one thing my tires aren't wearing unevenly, and I've had those tires for a year now. Someone on another forum suggested the sway bar. At ... Read More
Hello: I am new to this discussion forum as well. I do not know how to post my own question. Please advice me how to do this as well as answer my question, please. I brought a 1995 dodge grand caravan used. The guy that I brought the vechicle from told me about this engine light that is on and that it comes on every certain number of miles, exactly what ... I have a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.3L engine. The engine has nearly 300,000 miles on it. Last night, I lost complete use of every gear in the automatic transmission except "L" gear. Needless to say, I had a longer than expected drive home. In your opinion, is the transmission seen its last day? Or, could I have someone possibly repair it? The van is worth maybe $750 at this point. ... Read More
Edmunds TMV puts the value of a 1995 Dodge Caravan at about $4200 private party and $5200 at a dealer. The mileage sounds a little on the high side maybe? You left out a few variables, though--Grand? Model? Options? Based on the info given, you might offer closer to $4000-$4200 and see what happens. One thing to look out for. I had a 1993 Caravan SE and it had a bad ... Read More
We learned not to buy the first run anything when we bought our 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan LE in August of 1995. It would be best to get something later in the model year like we did with our 2000 Grand Caravan Sport. Don't bash Chrysler. You should do your HW more next time.
i have a 1999 dodge grand caravan with 39,000 miles. i will occasionaly here a clunk or knock from the front end when going over a bump or a rough road. has anybody had the same problem. i see a tsb for the the sway bar link but not sure that it is my problem....also new recall for 1995 to sep 1999 with 3.3 and 3,8. fuel leak at the o ... I have a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan SE that I've really enjoyed until the really hot weather hit. The last few times I drove it for quite a distance and the air conditioner was on it stalled out on the highway. I sat with it off for 20-30 minutes and proceeded towards my destination only to have it stall out 50 miles later, and I did not have the a/c on. ... Read More
then attempt to discredit the publication. Usual silliness. Consumer Reports' survey shows Dodge Grand Caravan transmissions rated below average for reliability through 1995 (that's more recent than 1990, swampcollie; don't you think?). Still waiting to see what happens when more recent years rack up higher mileage. This is not "bashing" or "trashing." It's noting the facts, which some choose to hide themselves from. Still waiting for someone to give me a ... Read More
