2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 4dr Crew Cab 4WD (5.3L 8cyl 4A)

AV is a good idea for those looking for room, ride and the benefits of a truck. Unfortunately, like most GM products, this truck doesn't age well. After two years and 36k, problems are starting to pop up on a regular basis. The truck is babied and serviced regularly, but exhaust baffles just went, steering coupler seized up, ABS sensor died etc. The good deals on new Avalanches mean huge depreciation for used units. Buyer beware, buy one to run to the grouond, not for just 3 or 4 years or epect to take a huge hit. Good for a few years or low mileage users, but I fear how long this truck will hold up.

Best Features

Tonneau cover is first class. Ride qulaity is good, though wind plays havoc with steering.

Worst Features

Yes its a large SUV, but fuel economy could be much better. Best three improvements:Improve quality, quality, quality. If you want quality, look elsewhere.
