Just clicked over 1000 miles on my new 2011 Buick LaCrosse and I must say it has been perfect in every respect. I have averaged 25mpg over the 1000 miles in a roughly 50/50 mix of city/hwy driving. Option pak refers to loading certain models with option packages rather than individually priced options as in the past. For only $3800 as an example you can get say Bluetooth but you have to take sunroof, memory seats and Navigation in the pak. I am the proud owner (2 weeks now) of a 2011 Buick Lacrosse. Although I love the car, I would not recommend buying one without the rear view assist. You litteraly cannnot see anything behind you. awdbl: Very interesting messages from the drive system. Methinks that all three events are a product of the same sensor that may or may not be a mechanical problem. I had an ABS light ( pre message center) and it turned out to be a sensor built into the rear brake hub. Whole hub needed R&R and problem went away. You've informed me of more than I knew on the AWD version. I'd get it to the dealer immediately. Hoping it is something simple like GM neglected to make sure a connector was properly engaged and locked. If something has failed, then it does not speak well of GM quality or longevity.

Just passed the 1000 mile mark and the message console tells me that the AWD system and the rear axle need service. A few weeks ago the message console displayed the message that the traction control system needed service and then blinked off. Didn't think anything off it since it didn't come back on.... Why is there no way to open the trunk without having the key fob on your person? EPA has finally released figures for combined mileage of Lacrosse. Go to new cars here and chose buick. It lists lacrosse, 2010 & 2011. My 2011 LaCrosse is the 3.6L, V6, and is a CXL model. Even though the MPG you are getting is disappointing, with the larger V6 I didn't plan on getting much better gas mileage. I guess something has to sacrifice, and so far have been totally satisfied with the car.
I test drove both the Lucerne and LaCrosse before purchasing a new 2011 LaCrosse earlier this week. The Lucerne rides like the Cadillac DTS I recently had- very comfortable ride.
