Great car with cargo capacity no longer available.

Some of these cars have a fold flat front passenger seat which greatly increases the cargo capacity of the car. I can put a 10 ft surfboard in mine without reducing visibility. This used to be a standard feature on many Volvos and then became optional. Unfortunately the newer models no longer have this feature and the car has lost a great practical feature. Very comfortable car for long trips.

Volvo is amazing value – reliable, comfortable, quiet ride, solid, safe, and a pleasure to drive. I purchased a 2015 XC70 T6 Polestar. It is my third Volvo, currently has 20,000 miles. No problems. Lots of room for hauling. I like the XC70 because the rear seats fold flat, so you have over 5 feet length of flat area. I hauled a Stickley collector bookshelf over 1200 miles, for example. Also great for hauling dogs, and their crates. In my opinion this is the best road trip car -- ever. Super fast and hugs the road. Rain and snow are no problem for this gem. Traded in my 2009 S60 with 55,000 miles. I still miss that car, never a problem. My 2000 S70 sold to mom and dad, has over 120,000 miles, no problems. My experience with Volvo has been outstanding. The service from Volvo dealers has also been more than excellent. Sadly, I traded in my Volvo XC70 for a Porsche Macan S, that I like very much, partly because it is rear wheel drive based. I miss my Volvo, and think about her often. If I had had more money, and a bigger garage, I would not have let her go. Somebody got an amazing car!

After 105,000 miles in an XC70 T6 AWD

Our 2015 XC70 T6 continues to be a delight. Great acceleration when needed. Ample storage space. Traveling in the winter has been reassuring with sure footing of all wheel drive. The ride is superb with the legendary Volvo seats. Seating is more comfortable than our 22 S60. Servicing has been outstanding at Volvo of Rochester (ask for Jim and Paul). However, this vehicle has not required only wear and tear repairs and routine maintenance and tires. Utilize the rear storage and ability to add a roof carrier for longer trips with family. Anticipate keeping our Volvo in our stable for many years.

Great Volvo!

The 2015 XC70 is a great car. The T6 engine is powerful and car handles beautifully. The interior has a European luxury feel with easy to use technology. One of the best things in the XC70 is the seats. Volvo is know for incredibly comfortable seats and of the 3 Volvo's we've had over time these are the best and the most comfortable seats of any car we've driven. One of the big advantages of the station wagon platform over an SUV is lower height. Our family is very active out door activities with Kayaks, bikes and skis and the XC 70 makes it much easier to get stuff on and off the roof racks because it isn't so high. The XC70 also has a lot more interior cargo space compared to other wagons and SUV's. The challenge is that Volvo discontinued the XC70 in 2016 so its increasing difficult to find lower mileage inventory. They are really popular and don't stay on dealer lots long. My wife and I have a 2012 and decided to get a second XC 70 while still can and missed three of them at different dealers as they only lasted a day or two for sale. If you want to but a great, luxurious, sport wagon/SUV, the 2015 XC70 is a great choice!

Everything but tires, alignment & customer service

I bought this car right off the showroom floor, November 2014. Loved it, so comfortable, great pick speed, cargo space, beautiful interior and exterior. I have tire insecurity and no matter how well everything else works not knowing when your tires will get a flat or wear out so quickly, makes me feel unsafe, insecure about driving it, especially any road trips I take, which I do a lot living in New England. Three out of the four tires got flats, one day when I was picking up my dad in another state, I went to replace the tire and they couldn't get it for 3 days, we had nowhere to stay and my Dad was very ill. At that time there was only one tire you could use to replace it. Luckily the garage next door plugged it but I drove 2 1/2 hours back home white knuckled with my elderly father. It was nerve-racking. Got two more flats, all different tires. So starting with the four original tires, plus three, thats seven tire in less than 4 years and just was told I needed to replace all 4 tires this winter, that 11 tires in 4 years...so now instead of dealing with the lack of concern and attention to a customer's obvious issues with tires, alignment I'm trading in this car for one I feel confident and safe traveling at night, on a highway or back country roads. Update: got rid of it and got an Audi Q7 in January 2019

Love the solid construction of the wagon, very manageable, and has all the bells and whistles of safety and comfort. I bought it for myself, but my daughter loves it so much so I gave it to her. Bluetooth of the wagon is so strong that it picks up signals even when the phone is in the house. It has blind spot sensor and backup camera which are very useful and provide added safety for new drivers!! Thanks Volvo for making such a great car!!

It is a heavy duty vehicle that drives like a dream. Good for carrying stuff and all of my other transportation needs. Air conditioner works well which is important in south Florida. However, I whacked a knob on the console, so the radio doesn't work and restoring all the electronics would be expensive. The transmission timing belt, at 103,000, is due for changing, very expensive. So, I want to start over with a newer version of the same (I believe my 7th, I believe, over 37 years). I would like to get $5-8,000 for it to offset its replacement.

Best car I have ever driven, which comes to the problem. At 96,000 miles and only minor electronic glitches, I am searching the market for a straight 6, AWD, wagon, with spare tire, and regular gas that gets 20mpg around town and 24mpg on the highway, and nothing exists. Can't even find a 2015 XC70 with under 40,000 miles at any price. Once you have had a straight six you are spoiled forever. Smooth, lots of torque, sounds good, longevity, why settle for a 4 cylinder? It looks like I'm going to keep this one for another 100,000 miles. I'm completely spoiled. Of course I also had a VW GTI(2021) at the same time, that was a blast but not the same quality, and I found myself driving way too fast all of the time.

My 2016 was built one month before the assembly line was shut down. Great place to spend time. Amazing seats, good sound, and no road noise. Fun driving a turbo 5, feels special and revs smooth. The built in booster seats are great and my 2 girls love them. The map updates with a USB drive, download updates for free every 6-9 months. Great deal there. Sold it for a great price. All around a great and cost efficient 8 years of ownership. The electronics felt out of date when I bought it and feel ancient now. The AC is not strong enough to cool it down after a stop in a parking lot on a hot day. Came with 5 year bumper to bumper and 5 year scheduled maintenance as a promo to poach TDi owners to another European brand. First 3 payments on my 48 month loan were paid by Volvo too. Under $40,000 new (plus tax) with 5 years of worry free ownership. Smoking value on a $48k+ MSRP car.
