Just picked up my new Cross Country Wagon this week and I took it onto dirt roads in the desert last night. It drives over city potholes and country washboards with absolute competence and nice cushion. I can't wait to break the car in with more excursions.

Love this car, hate the electronic gremlins
This gorgeous vehicle drives like a sport car- what a dream! pretty darn good mileage on the highway (28mpg), 26-27 city with all season tires ( snow tires eat more gas, as expected- still far better than my suburban). It is the most comfortable seat/cabin I have ever experienced, and the safety features and finishes are second to none. Finally, after multiple factory resets and software updates, the electrical gremlins seem to be gone. They were: loss of button function on steering wheel, touchscreen unreactive, driver door mirror randomly moving almost every time the car was started, a/c turning itself on (no, not the windshield defrost feature) when temps were in the 40s F, touchscreen display not loading, nav stopped working several times. These malfunctions were random and not frequent (minus the driver side mirror)- but I had begun to sour on the car. Finally, with these software bugs (seemingly) resolved, I can looooove this baby again.

Car is surprisingly good. Exceptional chassis and suspension tuning. A pleasure to spend time in.

Best of all worlds
If you’re looking for utility, comfort, luxury and good technology, this Volvo hits the sweet spot on each. It’s not a “sport wagon” but it blends excellent dynamics with day-to-day driveability. I’ve owned regular wagons, crossovers and SUV’s, and like the V60 CC best of all of them. Just enough added night to make entry and exit easier and more than enough cargo capacity for 90% of life. A winner.

Loved everything but the drivetrain
My 2021 V60 Cross Country was my 4th Volvo in a row. My last was a 2013 XC60 T6 R-Design. Maybe that T6 motor just spoiled me, but V60 4 banger in a 4K pound+ car just didn't have neaerly enough oomph. Starting off of stops, where the engine turns off by default, then waiting for the turbo to kick in, followed by an almost immediate shift - it was just anemic. Maybe I would have been OK with it if it got 33mpg, but with the 21.3mpg average I got, it just felt too inefficient to be paying as much as I did. My XC60 got 19.5mpg, but in the entire time I owned it I don't think I ever floored it or felt the need to. The shame is that everything else about the car was awesome. Mine was denim blue with 19" wheels and the camel leather interior, and it felt luxurious and looked beautiful. The seats, true to Volvo's reputation, were unmatched in terms of comfort. People have complained about the infotainment, but other than the apple car play display being rather small, I was fine with it. So as you might have guessed by now I ended up selling it. I would have loved to have gotten the V60 Hybrid, which has much better acceleration and mileage, but the 73K base price tag is ridiculous. I finally went with a Mach-E. I got the single motor, which is still tons more performance than the V60's and is all I feel I need. I miss the Scandinavian design, but am very happy with my choice.
