ID4 vs Tesla model Y

I got my id4 pro 12 days ago . In average , I drive about 100 miles a day. I’ve been charging my car 8 times in the last 12 days . I found out that the range is not accurate ! I live in los angeles and it get hot here a lot. when the car shows 140 miles battery left , If I turn on the air condition , it drops down to 105 miles . My previous Tesla model Y used to drop only 7 miles in 100 mile range . keep in mind that when you drive an ev , you always want to have at least 100 miles range before you charge it again. all thought that id 4 looks nice and drive well but Range and charging is very disappointing. I have to bear with it for another 36 months, but definitely this is not a car that I will lease , buy or keep. I hope this review becomes helpful to those who want to make the decision to purchase a new EV car.

Dysfunctional at best

Love the size of the vehicle and the interior design. The seats are incredibly comfortable. The software makes me want to drop it off a cliff however. Constant issues connecting to charging stations, even the bundled free sessions at their own network of chargers. I've had to send it to the repair center multiple times over sensors that would slam on the brakes as I crossed intersections, or attempted to leave my parking garage. I am constantly asked to sign in to my VW account as it seems to sign me out on my own vehicle randomly. None of the interior controls are illuminated at night so good luck finding them. Just an absolute nightmare and my first and last VW ever. I'm ready to dump this for an internal combustion engine just to not have to drive it again.

Car is nothing but trouble!

First time vw owner, 04/12/2023

Car is 6 months old and has now been at deal for 3 months. 3k miles and the car little up like a Christmas tree with errors - dealers has never seen so many. Needs a new electric motor and was just notified of a recall on the battery and cells need to be replace. The dealer has been great but VW corporate talks like it’s my problem and not theirs. Never buy a VW again!

Great looking ID.4 and very efficient

I have had this car for 6 weeks and my commute driving has been really pleasant. My ID.4 Pro S AWD has all power needed for normal driving. First 1200 miles efficiency is 3.7 miles per kW (3.7 x 77kW usable = 285 miles range). Only 20% highway, and heater not needed much. The heated seats and steering wheel have been just right. The sunroof is excellent with automatic cover that closes in any position. Trailer hitch is good without $1000 extra charge. (Y) Sound system has been plenty good. User controls have been easy to use and I turn off most of the automatic features like easy entry driver seat and "unlock when approaching". Free charging for 3 years is great and convenient right near my house. Only one bug is that drivers window goes down sometimes when it should go up. Still this gets 5 stars.

Delighted new EV owner

Our first EV and it's a winner. First impression is fantastic. Impressive fit and finish. Car is spacious, comfortable and hugs the road. Plenty of acceleration when needed. Great in snow. Steering wheel and seats heat up in seconds. Chose this EV due to range, AWD and good ground clearance. Highly recommend.
