Our son, who teaches Automotive Technology, diagnosed our 28-yr.-old Mustang as too far gone and told me I needed to buy another car. After many hours of searching the net, I finally found a 2014 Toyota Camry with 71,923 miles for $12,482 at Chris Polson Automotive. Our son went by Wed. 3/14/19 afternoon and checked it out completely including a test drive. Afterward, he texted us that we should buy it. He had made an appointment for us with the salesman for 2 pm today (3/14/19) for us to see the car. Since we decided right away that we would buy it and it was after hours, I went to their website to contact them. Website gave no email address and required texting via the website. I texted them that we had a 2 pm appointment the next day and would purchase the car at that time. Someone named "Robert" texted back asking what he could help us with, despite my text having made it clear that we would be there at 2 pm to buy the car. So we texted him back and had to tell him twice that we would be there at 2 pm because that was our appointment time. He texted us that he would have the car washed and ready to go and told us the total price was $13,307, including tax, tags, and title. Then "Robert" called me on our landline at 10:01 this morning (3/14/19). I told him we would be there at 2 pm to buy it. He asked if I knew the total price and I told him we had been quoted $13,307 last night. He said that sounded about right (although he was the one that gave us the price last night). I had to tell him 3 times that the time we would be there was 2 pm. He asked if we needed financing and I told him we would pay cash and would bring our bank statement to show we had the funds in our account. He said that wasn’t necessary and we could just write a check. Today (3/14/19), we drove 40 minutes to get to Polson Automotive at 2 pm, only to be told by "Robert" that the car had been sold 45 minutes ago. He said he had called us and got no answer. My phone said the call was received at 1:30 pm. We were already in transit by then. Needless to say, I was not only extremely disappointed but also very irritated that they had sold the car, knowing full well that we were coming to buy it. It’s not like we had only told them once. We told them via text on their website, via text after “Robert” texted us, and again when he called this morning. I just checked the Chris Polson Automotive website, and the car is still listed as for sale!
