Remarkable value and fun to drive

2024 Subaru Crosstrek
The Subaru Crosstrek (2024) has really surprised me in a good way. I leased it for my wife and daughter thinking it would be a solid, get-around vehicle, with average features (that's what they wanted). In fact, it is so much more! I noted the other reviews here, and I feel like some have a different car. In brief, the road noise is not an issue at all, the engine is smooth and quiet, … and the electronics solid.
I have the base Premium model, which is one up from the complete base model. And my goodness, I was surprised at all of the standard features that come with the base Premium trim: led headlights and fog lights, welcome lights in the rearview mirrors, large screen with wireless Android Auto and Carplay, carpet AND plastic mats (including one for the rear cargo area), roof rails, lane keep assist, Subaru eyesight, free subscription to Starlink, auto hold, Sirius travel link, X-mode, and the list goes on.
You get all of these features in a $26k car! So to me, the main appeal is the value. In addition, it is fun to drive, fits tall people well (I'm 6'4" and daughter is 5'11"), and looks really sharp. The acceleration is better than average and it feels stable on the highway. I would recommend taking the negative reviews on this site with a grain of salt.
If I had any cons, it would be the incandescent bulb lighting for the turn signals, reverse light, and interior lights. At this trim, the steering wheel is plastic, but at least feels OK. And finally, it would be nice to have a sunroof, which is only found on the higher trims.
Overall, I am really impressed with this little go-getter Crosstrek.
