Dealer Review:

I believe Hyundai may be a good product but this dealership is doing the brand a huge disservice. I know it is a sellers market but adding over $7k to MSRP (lump $5k + some worthless driving tracking app that you can get for free) and not showing that on the printed MSRP is predatory and extremely short sided. I understand cars are in demand but this imbalance will end in the next 12 months (or sooner) and mark my words the dealers that didn't prey on their customers will actually have repeat customers after all of this. I can stomach the extra dealer add-ons at huge markups but doing that and then just an arbitrary $5k is a joke. It is Hyundai for goodness sake, not Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Tesla, etc. and certainly still no where near the reputation of direct competitors like Toyota or Honda. If that had a premium brand maybe they could get away with charging $40k for a $33k MSRP vehicle, but they don't and won't. Even if I was stupid enough to buy from them, (and of course then taking a shower as I would feel so dirty) I would certainly never take my car to that dealership for service which is where dealers make all their profit margins so once again clearly a dealer and brand that have no interest in building any customer relationships. They are caught up in just a real time sales transaction and that is it.....and that is all they will ever have. When the supply equilibrium does flip if they can ever get any of these current buyers back into consider a future purchase they will end up having to discount their product much more than their competitors to compete due to having a tarnished reputation and brand. Everyone knows how costly customer acquisition so they will definitely lose net/net from this severely flawed sales approach.
