2006 Audi S4
First Audi I ever owned coming from a Lexus and this Audi S4 automatic i got at 134k was in horrible shape from previous owner and I luckily bought the car in time to be able to save it.
During my 1 year of ownership I have fixed the trunk lock hatch (did it myself) also replaced rear struts , front struts , full front control arms and front drive axles, which costed me in parts … around $350 and labor $800. Battery also died on me during 5 month (Don't let it sit for too long.)
As for current issues I have now after one year is my driver side window wont roll down and i have the window regulator part ready to have it installed I heard its a common issue on B7 S4.
BIGGEST RUMOR these cars have is that people say "timing chain fails" at 100k or whatever. People will hate to hear this but if you make sure you buy it from someone who took care of it as in not beating it up when its cold and giving it HIGH quality oil then you will be good Also on cold starts make sure you do the 15 second rule which is put the key in the "On position" for 15 seconds then turn the vehicle on. doing this will make sure some oil flows into the timing chain area and not cause damage.
I have 140k with no timing issues also i friend had 188k and no timing chain issues. because I ONLY use Liqui Moly motor oil and warm up the car properly also I refuse to take the car on highway until the vehicle temp shows that its warm enough in middle. All these extra stuff I do will make sure there is enough warm oil at the timing chain area and not cause any stress on the chain guides.
