I shopped every half ton truck on the market and the Tundra 1794 Edition had everything the big three had with a better price. I’ll never go back to Chevy.

Best Truck!!! 2019 Platinum!

I love this TRUCK!, 09/08/2019

I have tried several full size pickups over the years. My 2019 Platinum Tundra is by far the best truck I have ever driven. I comes with Toyota's great warranty and name which in my opinion means a lot. Reliability and performance are what you'll get with this truck. Can't say enough great things about it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to wait for the 2020 but am glad I did not. The reviews for the 2019 far surpass what the 2020 is offering. The tow rating is great and it is an incredibly comfortable ride. You won't be disappointed!!

Really good truck but lacking in execution

This "truck" really only needs a couple things to take it from good to very good or excellent. First, it needs an exhaust resonator which they apparently eliminated back in 2008 or whatever to make it sound more like a truck. Seriously?! Why not sell it quiet and then let the aftermarket take care of the noise increase, like every other truck?? The drone was literally driving me nuts and I seriously considered selling it before I came across an aftermarket resonator. I'm now getting 1 MPG less with the resonator but it's been totally worth it for me. Second, the Bluetooth phone audio is from the stone ages (My daughters 14 year old Lexus is literally 2x better). This, despite the fact that the radio itself sounds great?! It's honestly so bad that I mounted my phone to the vent and use the speakerphone instead of the Bluetooth connection. Anyway, I suppose I'll bite the bullet at some point and buy an aftermarket stereo system but it's really ridiculous considering the price point. My one last gripe (and much less annoying) is the paint. It scratches way too easily, especially considering this is a truck. Anyway, whoever is responsible for the exhaust and the Bluetooth phone system should be fired, plain and simple. Moving on, and despite the negatives, I still think this is a great truck. It's easy to drive (especially on the highway), it feels like it will last forever, the brakes are excellent, and the seats are comfortable over very long distances. I know other reviewers have complained about the front seat comfort (they are indeed firm) but my legs don't get tired and achy over long distances, like they tend to do with softer, more luxurious seats.

2019 Tundra Double Cab Work Truck

VEB, 10/12/2019
2019 Toyota Tundra SR5 4dr Double Cab 4WD SB (4.6L 8cyl 6A)

I looked at Chevy, GMC, Dodge, Honda for over a year trying to stay around 32K. Toyota was over priced when the search started and as the dealer said they never go on sale. I was currently driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and want something similar in size and back seat comfort. After looking at all the small trucks available the back seating was less than what was in the dodge except for Honda. The Honda was the best value but it really isn't a truck that can be used around my yard as the front end is to low to ground. So full size search started new and used (budget) Dodge tried to push the 6 cylinder but it was under powered and once we got to the 8 the pricing ended up being around 40-42, they did not offer the work truck model at the dealerships I visited, I will say the 40-42 was a little high but the truck had everything I would want. GMC was to expensive and Chevy was about the same as the Dodge but interior was not as nice and the transmission did not seem to shift smoothly, I noticed this on several of the Chevy's. I finally revisited the Toyota dealer after walking lot and seeing a Tacoma 4 door with 6 foot bed listed at 37K. Ride was nice but there was little room for passengers in the back seat if my seat was adjusted so I was comfortable. In walking be the tundra they had 1.7K off Dealer and addition 3K cash from Toyota. Apparently they do go on sale. I drove the double cab and it drove just like my Dakota, checked the back seat and even though it was not a crew cab there was just as much room as the Dakota had and more room than any of the small pickups. The base model Tundra has more options than the Chevy work truck and for me it was fine including the steel wheels (might not be for everyone) . I have had it a month and there is not buyers remorse. Other trucks have smoother rides such as the Dodge but if you don't mind driving a truck that rides like one this mighty be for you. The work truck model kind of steps you back in time and the only thing missing is manual windows.

I did a lot of research on 2019 trucks & the Tundra was superior to the brands, looks, quality, fit & finish and performance was beyond compare. The Tundra is the Lexus of Trucks in every category!
