Missing all the nice stuff

When one drops 65g on a minivan, they expect the things that made it look cool on the website to be in it. I bought a 2021 AWD Platinum, I ordered one and paid a deposit in the 'build and ship' but my dealer 'resold' the same car (3) times - this is not good. I did not find this out until the day before I was told it would be ready, so, that was a let down, I found another one in another state and paid for it. Only to find out - and it is extremely tricky of Toyota to show the images the way they do and for sure a let down when one drives for hours to 'pick it up' but here's the rub - No reclining seats in the AWD Platinum, this is only expressed on a 'specs' alignment from FWD to AWD on the platinum (several clicks into the site) and only expressed with very 'dark' pictures of the second row seats in the AWD vs the FWD versions of the car. The main pictures show reclining seats for the platinum, nothing notes clearly - ONLY IN FWD. The car gets amazing mileage, and it is easy to fit in for the kids, it is easy to drive, albeit less get up and go than our 2005 XLE AWD (3 Liter V6), still, I like the car. Had I known the Second Row seats did not recline, or that the 'magic mirror' ONLY comes with the entertainment package (which I ordered in the 1st one that was sold to someone else from under me) or that the Fridge and Vacuum would not be available and no time set, I probably would have passed... But again, when you work out all the financing in advance, then drive for hours with the wife to pick up a car, only to see that the cool ottoman seats are not in the model you picked and everyone around you from the dealership is like 'I don't know why those aren't there... we don't know a lot about this car... it's so new...' then your left with the decision, just buy it with the expectation you can resell it back to the dealership when the model you want comes in.. or... leave without a car. I think getting the car was a good idea, it feels safe, it is a very practical car, it has tons of features which are really nice and without the ottomans the kids love it anyway so... Great car, still major let down in the sales cycle of this car, I call COVID shenanigans on that one, the dealers I worked with were both excellent, in these trying times, complaining about a new car is just dumb, this car is excellent, when the feature rich version is made available I will take a hit and get that one, because it is a remarkable vehicle - the engineers @ toyota are incredible and my 2005 with 300,000 miles on it, still runs incredibly well, and all the gadgets still work - I chose not to trade it in.

Not as good as it should be

Went to check out an XLE. The center row seats do not come out leaving you with about 2 feet less cargo space than you would expect out of a minivan. We sat in the third row which should be relatively comfortable in a minivan. It was NOT. The cushion was hard and too short. There is little headroom and my head touched the ceiling. I am 5-10 and my head does not touch the ceiling in my 2013 Odyssey and the third row seat is comfortable with a long enough cushion. I also noticed that in the most expensive Sienna, which is about $50,000 or more, the front passenger seat is only a 4-way power. The Pacifica and Sedona give you full 8-way power passenger seat for less money! Pass!!!

Loving our 2021 Sienna for 2 months so far

My husband does not drive our Sienna like you should drive a hybrid to get great mileage. Despite this, our AWD Sienna is getting 34.0 mpg; hoping for 35. Our mileage is 1600 miles so far and we are loving our purchase without regrets. Neither of us notice anything negative about braking or acceleration as we read abt prior to purchase. Ride is smooth. Seats are VERY comfy. Love the deep storage between the front seats. Wish we had more glove compartment space. Front cup holders adequately hold our drinks and water bottles. LOVE the sliding middle seats—makes it easier with kid’s car seats, and more comfy for an adult sitting in middle or back seats. We are a tall family — no more crunched-up legs. With middle seats folded and moved up as far as they go, we got plenty of lumber in the van, including a 4x8 plywood (placed with front end resting on top of the blanket-protected seats). We haven’t yet read the instruction book, our bad, even after all this time, but we have figured out the features without issues.

Stay away! This car has leaky seals and is very loud. Common problem that Toyota refuses to acknowledge. Just Google loud 4th gen Sienna and you see tons of the same complaints. Toyota used to be a good brand standing for quality. No longer! Stay away! They do not care about their customers, only silencing complaints with the help of their dealers. $50k down the drain

I was apprehensive about buying the 2021 seinna because of the lack of power and engine noise. I find neither of these things to be an issue. The engine does make a noise but it’s not loud, it’s just a different sound then what I’m used to but it doesn’t bother me. It rides and drives AMAZING!!! The gas mileage is a huge perk too. The more I drive it the more I love it. My only complaint is the black interior😭why would they put black carpet and black rubber mats in a van? It shows dust, mud, dog hair so easy.
