2003 Toyota Highlander AWD 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 4A)

Just bought my highlander and I am loving it. Drives so smooth, like a sedan, and the AWD is a lifesaver living in New England. Great in the snow, and the gas mileage isn't bad since I bought the 4 cylinder. For all of you wondering how the 4 cylinder does with AWD, it's plenty for me! It's not a speed demon but has plenty of power, I'm really happy with it.

I drove a Lexus RX300 previously (company car) but was unwilling to pay the Lexus price when it came time to buy. This car is built on the same platform. It rides and handles like a car, not a truck. The only thing missing when compared to the Lexus is the "luxury" look of the interior. I have only two minor complaints with the vehicle: 1. the lifters (fuel injectors) make noise which is not noticeable when driving/idling unless it is completely quiet in the car (no talking, music, etc.) It is not noticeable to most people but was not present til after break-in period; 2. the paint on bumper & hood chips easily from normal road dirt.

Man, what a truck !! This is the best vehicle I have ever driven. Beats all those SUVs out there - ride, handling, comfort, performance. Minus the infamous 'rear-window-open' problem and the average music system, this vehicle is the best ! With JD Power's 'most appealing mid-size SUV' award, the highlander adds another feather to it's cap.

When I heard about the Highlander I knew I wanted it.I have been happy ever since.Handles shockingly well in snow and rain - abs & 4 wheel drive kick in and I don't have to worry about it.gas mileage is terrific, cargo area is easy to access as are the rear seats when you need to carry large items. enjoying the compliments on the color (bluestone metallic)and design. love this vehicle, way to go Toyota!

Capable Cruiser

We needed car-like ride and handling and the Highlander delivers. Plenty of room, especially front-seat footroom, plus a noise-free ride. Outstanding dependability and top-notch build quality make an excellent value. The transmission is especially smooth and the standard audio features user-friendly knobs and big, lighted buttons. The 220-hp V-6 is smooth and powerful enough. Mileage is as advertised, 23 mpg when driven sensibly. The 60-40 split rear seat easily folds flat creating 81 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The quality of interior materials is good, although the dash is hard, grained plastic and the plush ivory cloth is not child-frieldly. Visibility and handling are strengths
