The sticker reads 28 city- 37 hwy- 31 combined but that's a total lie! The best I got so far has been 23.5 mpg. Also the cabin is very noisy, it's a shame they couldn't spend $25.00 at the factory for some sound deadening! I've owned 4 Toyotas and this is the most dissapointing one I've owned!

It's almost as fun as my Yaris.

Yes, when accelerating without sport mode it's a tad more noisy. However, it's still responding reliably without the button being on. It's not quite as perky as some other vehicles but it's not slow as molasses. Overall this car has been a great addition to our Toyota family. No regrets.

Honestly I do love my 2017 Toyota Corolla iM in the pretty blue, but the transmission is very concerning. The CVT transmission causes slight shuddering when idling at lights, this is most likely due to never getting the fluids checked after 80k miles, but now that its high milage it would do more harm than good to have fluids replaced. If you get any car with a CVT, be sure to have the fluids periodically checked so that it can be replaced when needed before its too far gone. Mine is now at almost 140k miles and still going strong. It has had very little issues, mainly needed spark plugs replaced. The sport mode is great to use when needing to accelerate quick but I wouldn't recommend racing it unless you modify it first. All in all its a great car if you live in the city and have no kids. Once you have a child it gets cramped fairly quickly but still a little room. Very uncomfortable for anyone large though, I however am a small young woman so it suits me for now. As much as I love my car, it's not the best for a mom to own because getting just one child in and out of the car can be a pain with the low roof. If you're young, kid free, not super tall and live in a city then this is the PERFECT car for you with the right maintenance!!

As a motorhead, I was braced for the worst in reading all the reviews about how underpowered and slow this car was. After driving it for the past week, I'm pleasantly surprised. Are you going to win any drag races in this? Nope. Can you get on a freeway onramp at a healthy and safe-to-merge clip? Can you play around on a twisty road? Can you chirp the tires in 1st? That's a yes, yes and sometimes. :-) Seriously, what I have found, and I have the 6MT, is if you keep the RPMs in the right band, you have access to adequate power and torque. Combine that with the independent rear suspension and you have a peppy, fun-to-drive car. As the saying goes, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow. Add Toyota reliability, great safety features (lane departure warning, collision avoidance, automatic highbeams), some other features not normally found on this class of vehicle (alloy wheels, backup camera, dual zone climate control, touchscreen controls, bluetooth connectivity, etc). The sound system sounds surprisingly good. So, my take? Can't go wrong with this it you are looking for an efficient, practical, cool-ish styled hatch that's easy to live with. PRO: fun and peppy, lots of features, reliable, safe, unlikely to have been modded and/or abused CON: it is objectively slower, but unless you are tracking your car, how fast can you (should you) really go...
