One year update: I am still very pleased with this vehicle. I had only 1 problem -- a buzzing speaker, which was replaced. I would note that my mileage is better than predicted. With about 20% freeway and 80% city/other driving, I get ~ 47.5 MPG (instead of ~ 44). And I figured out the phone charger -- have to rotate phone 180. Overall very happy with the performance and pickup. Great in the snow. Glad I did not opt for the RAV4. ---- Initial review: I picked up this car 2 days ago and drove it 90 highway miles home, and then in town. This was a great choice, the best in "small" SUVs. We had a 2017 RAV4, and considering a replacement for my 2009 Prius, I had gotten on the list for a Prius Prime. After 8 months, I started looking around for a small SUV instead, focusing on the Subaru Crosstrek. Unfortunately, that car is no longer made as a hybrid, and the new RAV4s have gotten so big, they are like pickup trucks IMO. When the hybrid version of the CC came up, I got very interested in it and got on the list. Both the Prius Prime and CCH came in on the same day to different dealers, and I chose the SUV. Turns out the CCH is about the same size as the 2017 RAV4, but is still considered small. And do not listen to people who say it's "not fun to drive" or boring in some subjective way. This is a great car! It is agile, peppy, smooth-riding, fun to drive -- and very safe. The interior is fine. No ghosts of the Toyota Corolla here, except for the reliability. My only beef is that (1) navigation without using your phone is $15 a month, and (2) the wireless charger does not seem to work with any phones I have tested it on. Cheers.

The Perfect Size with Hybrid and AWD Combined!

This car is more of a "station wagon" by design and proportion, rather than a boxy "SUV." This suits me just fine. I have the 2023 Corolla Cross XSE Hybrid. The headroom is amazing for my 6" frame, and the ground clearance make entrance and exit easy. The ride is fun, zippy, and responsive, and its fuel economy is impressive! As well, it offers excellent visibility all around from the driver’s seat. The interior trim of my XSE model is very nice, although I don't care for the "floating tablet" infotainment screen. Only one serious gripe: NO SPARE TIRE! Currently, the hybrid CC's only get a spray-can to fix a flat, which is only helpful with minor leaks. Overall, I highly recommend the Corolla Cross hybrid AWD for its size, easy parking, very short turning circle, and fun, athletic ride!

It is fun to drive and had lots of options. Comfy for a longer trip, if you can get all your stuff in. I get about 38 mpg on the freeway where 75 mph is the speed limit. I get 42 ish in town. So that is less than I expected. It is not intuitive to use the radio, or climate controls. But easy to play my downloaded audiobooks and use my Spotify account . Worst part- no spare tire, not even the baby one. We had a leak on the freeway, stopped and used their goop to try to fill the hole... That didn't work, so I called my dealer and somehow I had AAA get me towed to buy a new tire. The tire shop told me to NEVER USE THAT GOOP, YOU CAN'T PATCH A TIRE THAT HAD THAT STUFF IN IT. Now what??? Come on Toyota!! Get a clue and put a spare in it?!

This is a great vehicle but for the XSE model, the interior could be nicer. Some of the buttons feel clunky. Also the 2023 is missing the compass feature. However, it maneuvers nicely, rides comfortably and the mileage is great.
