Old man's experience
Gas mileage in town is way below advertised. I'm getting 35 overall. Outside air temperature very difficult to read.

Dont buy this car!
We bought this hybrid Avalon bc we owned a 2008 Avalon and 2012 Avalon. just loved both them. BUT Toyota has changed this car so much that my tall husband and tall sons can fit in back seat. they fit better in our Prius Much BETTER! There is no room at all in the truck! You hear ever bit of road noise! I have no Idea who designed this car but it is so bad that I wish we could return 2014 Avalon for 2012 Avalon! Why would u make a great design smaller when u have a Camry that is smaller!

Affordable luxury
It’s wonderful to have a hybrid full-size sedan. While the gas mileage is not as good as a hybrid Camry or a Prius, it is still spectacular for a car of this size. Also, having test driven a hybrid Camry, I can say the performance of the Avalon is much better. As far as looks, it is essentially the same car as the Lexus ES with a different hood ornament. All in all very satisfied.

Full size car 40 mpg beat that
Purchased new Dec 2104. Mileage is now 66700 miles with absolutely no problems. Not one. Main complaint is brakes are a little grabby at low speeds. I’m now looking at the 2020 Hybrid I need Apple play.
