Terrible head lights low beam design
As an engineer for the last 35 years in automotive industry I worked in both processing and quality. I bought a Forester Limited for my wife, made in Japan, came after 2 months with only 5 miles on odometer. Within 2 minutes I noticed that the sunroof switch is bent, cannot open the sunroof, no big deal, it happens, even when made in Japan. It was fixed. After 3 weeks a TPMS failed, no big deal again. As my wife started driving in the morning when dark she mentioned about weird head lights low beam. The horizon line is scattered and underneath all kind od dark spots that bounce up and down when you brake and accelerates, all depending on how far or close the objects in the front of you are It is very distracting and dangerous. This is a flaw design, dealer cannot fix it ... and Subaru preaching about safety ...they should know better. Otherwise the car is comfortable, sits very well on road, quiet CVT, fast enough for 4 cylinders. If you consider buying a Subaru make sure you do mostly daylight driving 😅😅😅.
Remote Start is an app
Drivers have to have a smart phone app to be able to have remote start on a 2025 Forester. We have a second home where there is not wi-fi or cell service. There are still areas that do not have cell service due to terrain or being remote. So the Subaru monthly charge for Starlink is useless in this instance. Remote start should be on the key fob like most other manufacturers. Subaru has dropped the ball on this option by trying to force buyers in to the monthly charge service Starlink. Buyers should be aware of this fact.

New and broken already
It’s just like others have already said. The heated seats do not work and that’s after having the car for ONE day. Going to be in the shop longer than expected. Not powerful at all, but it will get the job done. It appears that the stop and start function isn’t working as it should either, because it doesn’t always cut off when I’m at a stop with the motor running for a bit. Sketchy. The motor whines when I pick up speed. The wind noise is AWFUL. The car is VERY underwhelming. I bought it because consumer reports rated it number one for reliability and there were some other reports that said it was a very reliable car as well. I am so far disappointed and wish I had looked elsewhere.

Don’t buy if you enjoy your heated seats working
There is a widespread issue with many owners reporting faulty heated seats. Mine operate inconsistently - when they do get warm, despite being on high it’s less warm than the lowest setting on my previous car / any other car I’ve been in. No fix from Subaru so far and they suggest the seats are operating as intended. Have also been told they should get warmer when it is colder outside - also untrue. It was 48° the other day in the mountains and when set on high, even after 20 minutes there was ZERO heat coming from the heated seats. Extremely disappointing. I love this car otherwise, but seat warmers were an expensive upgrade and very important feature to me in a car. I was excited to own a Subaru, but this is changing my opinion of the company very quickly in a negative way.

Move to Forester 25
Drives well, looks great, a little noisier than the Outback and I don't love the seats. They hit the back of my mid-thigh, not by the knees, like a chair.
