4k rpm issue under excessive throttle

Just writing this incase any 23 owners have this issue. So I live in the country. 55mph roads. Well there's this 1 certain area near my house that this issue happens the most at. I'm at a stop sign waiting for traffic. When it's clear enough to go I have to give it heavy throttle to get up to 55mph. It's a busy street so it's more throttle than normal. When I do this about 1 out of every 5 times about, the trucks rpm bar stops at 4k rpm and won't switch gears causing me to only go 35-40 mph. The truck sounds like it's just keeps reving up with my foot on the gas but the bar stays at 4k. I have to wait a few seconds till the revs comeback below 4k then it works fine and it'll drive normal. Now this is a safety issue. Had someone almost rear-ended me because I couldn't get up to the speed limit. So I took it into the dealer and they think it's a computer issue in the trans. They have to try and duplicate the issue then contact ram to see what they can do about this. The service manager seemed very concerned and eager to get to the bottom of this for me. However I'm now without a truck till they do. I may come back and update with what they find and hopefully they can fix it and don't have to enact my states lemon laws on this truck. Everything else about the trucks amazing. 23 ram 1500 rebel gt 5.7 etorq. Fully loaded and ordered from factory. Basically the truck I've always wanted and waited 6 months for...here's to hoping it's not to bad and that ram isn't run by [non-permissible content removed].

Amazing vehicle except for 1 glaring exception

As far as half ton trucks go, you will not find a better ride and better creature comforts for the price. However, here is the problem: The vehicle is rated to tow 11000lbs but the truck comes with 4 ply passenger tires which are unsafe to tow more than 4000lbs with. Most new buyers who want to tow just replace the tires but I call bullcrap on that. It's a brand new vehicle and I should not have to drop another $1200 just to use the truck for the purpose intended. Epic fail by Ram.

I bought a 2024 Limited, 6k in miles on it and its already broken and in the shop with 2 other recall issues. I have spent 3 hours on hold with no answers. Dodge makes crap cheap vehicles and tell the owners to pound sand. Will never buy Dodge again and hope others don't either.

Dashboard falling apart and RAM won't fix

This is my second 1500 Limited and I love the way they ride. The first one had 150K miles and no major issues. I upgraded to a 2019 to get some of the new safety features. Unfortunately, this truck has had multiple issues the most irritating of which is a dashboard that delaminated at 36K miles. Even my little podunk dealer said it was an issue and has seen several with this problem. Ram said it was out of warranty and basically too bad. I didn't pay 60K for a truck for it to fall apart in 2 years. Knowing that this is a well known issue I have been waiting for them to actually man up and fix the issue, but no such luck. I Have spoken with RAM several times and they could care less. You can't even order the part if you did want t pay the $2K to have it replaced. Pathetic customer service from RAM.

Have some solvent pop and paint drips on a brand new 2023 RAM 1500. I didn't notice these issues when I initially bought the vehicle, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. I am irritated that these issues passed QC checks before leaving the factory. Probably won't buy another RAM.

My 2023 Ram 1500 v-6 etourqe randomly stalls and sets the ebrake. Also the Brake stop start keeps throwing check engine lights. Have an appointment at dealership 9-5-23. So I will see what comes of my second trip to the dealer. Before my first Oil change.

2023 Ram Rebel. The AC is terrible. Had it checked they said everything is ok. Not! The ETorque makes the truck drive like a 4 stroke dirtbike. Not pleasant. The 3 honk feature when exiting the vehicle with it running is offensive. The rear seat occupant reminder alarm is stupid. It alarms even when no-one is back there. All you have to do is open and close the back door. The transmission is slipping bc its constantly upshifting and down shifting like a 4 stroke dirtbike. Stay clear of Ram. They seem more concerned with tailpipe emissions than quality and utility.

I will never ever , ever buy a pos dodge ram again. So many problems it's embarrassing to me to even be seen in this truck. I can't wait to get rid of this pos. 2019 dodge ram with only 85k. Bought it used with 33k and nothing but problems. Since I have owned it... problems with Transmission going into limp mode while I'm moving at 5mph. Parking sensors both front and back going off when I'm no where near an object. Driver's window hesitates to come back up. Tailgate not opening. Push button to start not working. 4x4 not wanting to engage. Radio cuts off and sometimes doesn't shut off. A/C turns on by itself and sometimes blower motor goes on high by itself. Constant air blowing through defrost and lets not shy away from the famous ticking coming from the exhuast manifolds which are a result of the manifolds getting so hot they break the header bolt and now I'm left with exhuast leak which just happened after the warranty expired and fumes are coming into cab. I mean F#&k talk about a pos. Oh yeah did I mention that unless you have a mechanics license you can't access the computer to delete most codes because the dealers / manufacturer locked the computer so you have to take it to the dealer. Never again and if asked I will definitely discourage anyone from buying this pos. Have a great day.

Uncomfortable and Awkward

For the Ram Rebel 2024 GT 8cyl. There is a big hump in the passenger side footwell. This makes it impossible to sit straight and comfortably due to the limited space. Instead the weird inertior layout keeps your body in an awkward position with the right leg angled towards inside and a 10 inch bolster on side of the floor. In conclusion: If you have a passenger that is over 5 feet and has two legs avoid getting this vehicle.

2023 bighorn RAM

Just bought a 2023 bighorn RAM. It's basically a glorified tradesman. They've taken away everything and still call it a big horn. Plain seats. No running boards. No bed liners. The dash is small little 2x3 with regular gauges. The only perk it has towing ability if that's about it. Everything else is a tradesman but they call it a big horn. Ram has really gotten cheap since 2020. Unfortunately I traded in a 2016 that was fully loaded with leather heated cooled seats. That's supposed to be like this one but 10 times better than the 2023

The above list does not allow me to select the diesel option. This is by far the best pickup I ever owned. I do a lot of road trips and this truck just slapped me in the face with the mpg and range. On a 33gallon fuel tank, bighorn-4x4 I got over 1,000 of range! This diesel is a beast!!

Ive had mine since Jan 2022 and overall very happy with the truck. It has plenty of power, very comfortable for long trips and functions well. It drives and parks better than my previous F150 and will buy another in the future. Weve had a few minor issues with the infotainment center but didnt last long as usually an update fixed the issue. Gas mileage was around 21mpg (Hemi V8 eTorque) until I upgraded to AT tires. You cant really tell the eTorque is functioning which is nice but does save some gas. Overall very happy

Thus far, I have had the truck for a total of four weeks and I love it. I have the V6 Etorque and I am getting close to 21MPG in stop and go highway commutes. The inside is plush, spacious, and the ride is incredibly comfortable. 04/24/2025: I have now had the truck for 13 months and I have over 18k miles. I still love the truck and how it rides. The interior is comfortable and on a 2k mile trip, I felt refreshed at the end of the days of travel. The rear seat is spacious and comfortable and fits my teenage son quite well. My only worry is the ETorque and the lack of parts through Stellantis. For that reason, I would steer away from it in the future. Thus far, it has been a problem free truck and has done everything I have asked of it.

We had a 2022 Limited, but didn’t have the surround camera option/package. After a year, we traded it in for a fully loaded 2023 limited. We absolutely love our truck. If I could change anything, I wish the adjustable steering wheel was electric (like the power seats), the mirrors could be programmed to close/open automatically upon existing/entering the vehicle versus me pushing a button every time. I’d like to have a better surround camera that works both in drive and reverse and finally, I wish the suspension would drop the truck automatically, when placed in park. For $82k, I think these items should be standard. The truck rides well, has plenty of power, is very quiet and comfortable. It’s like your living room on wheels.

Rides nice like the Bighorn just has more accessories. The features are useful and well thought out. I grew up rolling my own windows up, with a bench seat and no A/C and no seat belts/or Lap belts, so the level of luxury it has is amazing to me. I really liked my Bighorn so this is over the top for me, i enjoy driving it. The price was crazy like all new trucks but worth it for me.

I'm no stranger to driving Rams, or expensive luxury cars either. Pro: this truck is on par with a luxury sedan in terms of ride quality & interior comfort and design. Seriously, my review title says it all. A thoroughly sublime, elegant ride that (having seen the competition) simply cannot be matched, rear seats included. Wow. Just wow. Con: no locking gas cap (even cheap cars have that), and the tech is a bit glitchy and slow (not too slow, just not lighting fast like I would expect). Nit picky....but for this kind of money..... Reliability: Hemi's have been around forever, I had a few. No problems yet, and I don't expect any for awhile. No way in hell am I buying a turbo for a truck. I've had turbos in cars, and if you buy one you will learn. The hard way $$$. Make sure you can afford it kids. Price: If you want a great price, go online and expand your search, you should be getting 20% off MSRP (at least), or you are not looking hard enough.

Want to feel the power (all 702 horses of it), own the road and know there is no terrain you can’t plow through? If so, then this is the vehicle for you. Lots of pleasant surprises like (1) the pre-wired auxiliary switches that simplify the addition of powered components and (2) programmable launch mode.

Loving my new Ram 1500 Limited. The ride is so smooth and comfortable. Fits the entire family well. Sad they are moving away from a v8. MSRP was crazy high, but discounts brought it back to a more reasonable price point.
