Die and get it over with
This van is the biggest piece of junk I have ever had to drive. It stays in the shop (too much to mention every item here) and I hate parking it in small slots because you can't see the nose of the vehicle to see how far you are from objects you are trying NOT to hit. I haven't hit anything yet, but it takes me longer to park, and the turning radias is awful as well. I could go on all day, but I'll leave you with this: my wife won't even get in the thing!
Love my Nissan Quest Minivan
I love this vehicle. I have put 56,000+ miles on it since I purchased it approx. 4 years ago and have had no major issues, other than normal maintenance. I feel safe no matter where I go; in-city or on the road. As with any car, though, keepting the oil changed regularly is a must. The Quest doesn't "eat" brakes as a few cars I have previously owned tended to do. One thing that has happened that I'm not so thrilled about is the automatic antenea has quite working but the radio still works just fine. In the future, I will continue to buy Nissan or foreign-made cars. I don't make enough money to take chances.
Great vehicle
Absolutely the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Over 120,00 original miles with no major mechanical problems. Excellent handling and acceleration for a van, and better than many cars I've driven
Don't by if u need reliable A/C
I have had this car since the beginning. Engine has been fine but have sunk thousands into the A/C. Am on the 3rd compressor & it has just gone out. Also relaced core & rear unit.
Nissan Quest
I purchased this Nissan Quest twelve years ago & had no problems with it whatsoever. It has now 148,000 miles & still runs like a new car. Problem is I like to buy something newer & I'm not sure what to buy, not only that, I don't want to give this car away. In my opinion this car is worth much more than what the book shows.
Best car we ever had in our family !
We love this car. We bought it in 1996 in California. It was our family car - 3 kids + 1dog. 55.000 miles - driving all year - never had any problem. Family moved - we shipped the car to Germany. Have been driving the car all the years - super cold winter, snow, Oktoberfest, hot summers.... never ever had any problems. Sparc plugs the same... Our grandchild likes the car. We had lots of other cars - BMW, Mercedes etc... they all had quality issues. Mercedes pretty bad. The Nissan Quest 1996 is a dream car. Pleasure to drive - still. Looks like pretty new - no rost, no problems. Our kids are out of the house and this car is still doing very well. It has 112.000 miles - BEST CAR EVER !!!
Started out Great but....
We bought this van to haul our family back to Nebraska to visit family, this van started out being a very nice reliable van but, after about 5 trips to NE and once to AR. and back to MN. It developed an exhaust leak that can't be found or fixed and as a result doesn't have good acceleration or power. Likes to eat up batteries, in the time we have owed, it has used 4. We also had to replace the radiator at about 110,000 miles. Would not recommend this van to a friend. This van has never left us stranded but, always seems to need some thing done.
Well Worth the Money
I purchased the vehicle in 2004 with 65K on it for 4300 dollars. It has been very reliable. Only thing to go wrong over the last 6 plus years was the rear AC unit failed and the break lines rusted. Sadly I am selling the car (to a friend though) as we purchased a new Odyssey.
Father with 2 boys
I'm very impressed with my Nissan Quest XE minivan. Especially this last winter, when it started on the first try everytime in snowy winter weather that was consistently 20 degrees and below. I'm also impressed with the engine power this minivan has. The manual overdrive has also been very helpful when climbing steep grades. The gas mileage is well within competitive range of any minivan in its class. The sleek body and look of this van stays current. The interior has a very classy and clean look to it. I have not had one engine related problem since I have owned it. Perfect for a single dad with sole custody of two little boys. I love driving this van all over. I recommend it to anyone!
1995 Nissan Qwest Minivan
I bought this van in September of 1995. It had 2000 miles on it and was at a Nissan dealer. So this is my 23rd year with this van. Do I need to say more? Excellent product that Nissan put out! Gear shifter and front axle and suspension worked on this year 2018. Still running great!

Will run forever
We have loved this little van . We call it the little red van that could, because it never stops, it just keeps going. We drove this van for seven years before we had to put in our first non-maintenance repair. Every year we say, "Maybe we can get one more year out of her." And we do!
Engine is great - accessories stink!
The engine has always run fine & if you don't mind the power doors locks & windows all getting screwed up, then you won't mind this van. It always runs, it's just not very easy to use becasue one of these accessories is always breaking down. The door locks malfunction in excessive heat.
Wish They Made Them All Like This
We must be living right. We have owned this van for over 8 years and bought it at 100,000mi and to date we have now 242,000 mi and still going strong. We are second owners and we have only needed to replace the A/C, passenger windshield motor and radiator. We also replaced the timing belt b/c our mechanic said we needed to. Everything works on the inside but sometimes the locks seem to have a mind of their own. I wish they made them like they used to. We are looking around for another solid mechanically sound vehicle just in case she gives up the ghost, but as of this writing, no other vehicle has good consumer reviews in the price range we can afford. So we will just keep on driving her.
my 1995 Nissan Quest
I have had this van for about 2 months now. it has 191,000kms on it (146,923mi) I baught off my nighbour at 180,000 (138,461mi). He baught it new at 2kms (1.5mi) he has never had a major problem with it. they had a recall on the motors for /95 Quests at 120,000kms (92,307mi). we have had the tires replaced recently and we were up in Mindon ontario when the fuel pump blew. so sofar , in 2 months we have had the tires replaced and the fuelpump replaced.
Family workhorse
We have owned this minivan for 7 years and 125,000 miles. It still is as solid as when we bought it. No rattles, unlike our friend's Chrysler Town and Country at 40,000. It handles and brakes well. Has a good ride. It is underpowered, though, so you have to put your foot in it to get going. Only a few problems the whole time-air conditioning failed, and motorized seat belt failed on passenger side. Also, had to replace a radiator. That's it. Everything else runs like new. Just need more room as the kids have grown up. GM minivans have SUBSTANTIALLY more leg room.
What a workhorse
I absolutely love this van. We're approaching 200,000 miles and we've only had one major repair (which was covered under warranty). The engine is still strong, the exterior paint is still in great condition, and it still rides smooth after all of these miles (a lot of them on backroads and in the mountains).
Innovative when new, but not anymore
Reliable van (no engine problems) that has gone thru 3 elementary school kids, trips to Florida, Canada, Ohio, Maine, etc. Lack of a left-hand door is annoying, but of course none had one at the time.
NIssan Quest
This van has been excellent to us.
love it !!
Our Quest will be 7 years old in September. We are a family of 6 we have enjoyed our mini van. It has never given us any trouble. We are just starting to search for a new car, only because mom is ready.
My Baby
My husband and I bought this about 2 years ago when my son was born. We owned a Buick Century and realized that we needed a bigger vehicle, due to having our son and 4 dogs at the time. We bought it with 115k on it and now has close to 136k. We had to get new tires, and replace the sway bar end links and the speed sensor, but that was due to poor maintenance from the prior owner. I love my van and if I could afford a new one I'd buy it in a heartbeat. She was worth EVERY penny I put into her. Extremely reliable vehicle. She's my baby.
Good value -new models not so good
Bought at 60000 miles, now have 230,000. 24 mpg, comfortable, good protection, good power. Driving long miles 100 per day. Looking to 300k.
Some of the best money I have ever spent
The Nissan Quest is by far one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I have about 125000 miles on mine now. It has served our purpose very well. In every aspect you can imagine. The only reason Im looking for something different is because I have three boys, and it is just a little small for a family of five.
My experience with Nissan Quest
The engine and the transmission is of superior quality. However, the body style and engineering seems to have a greater scope of improvement. The service center of Nissan is unexpectedly less courteous and efficient. I had the same experience with all three service centers I visited in Atlanta. It seems that they try to get most from a small set of customers since the volumes of Nissan vehicles are not comparable to those of Toyota and Honda.
Nissan Quest
I have LOVED this car. It was a demo that I gor with 4,000 miles on it in 1997. It has made 8 round-trips from Tucson to Seattle in addition to numberous other trips, and we have never had a serious problem with it in almost 8 years!
Great Minivan
I bought this minivan in 1996 and still drive to work everyday. It is very reliable and never had any major problems. The only components I replaced so far were the air controller and motor on the air conditions (dual) for $500. Anything else was done by warranty. Fun to drive especially on free way. I took a round trip to Las Vegas(2,000 miles) by myself without any problems. It is a great minivan only requires rountine maintenance. Great highway gas milage and average for city. Dual air is an excellent option. You will like it!
Happy Owner
This has been a great dependable vehicle. Have regular oil changes, tune up and maintenance. Couldn't ask for a better vehicle. Plan to keep for quite awhile as I only have 66,000 miles on this vehicle.
Nifty little Nissan
Our van has 563,226 trouble free miles on it. I've just changed the water pump, timing belt, tensioner, idler and all other belts every 125,000 miles. The van was actually built on a Ford assembly line but has a Nissan engine and transmission. The cloth interior has worn like iron. You would not know this van has over 100,000 miles by looking at the interior. This purchase was definitely worth the money!
