2019 Nissan Murano S AWD
The Murano is definitely tuned for comfort and it shows. The seats are both supremely comfortable and supportive. We recently went on a four hour road trip and there were no complaints from any of us. The wide sidewall tires absorb road imperfections easily without being too floaty. The naturally aspirated V6 provides decent acceleration without the turbo lag of many smaller turbocharged engines common these days. The CVT is much improved compared to my 2012 Altima. It keeps the revs low without that rubber band feel. It even simulates the shifts of a traditional geared automatic transmission on hard acceleration. A major complaint about the driving experience is that front visibility is extremely poor. The A pillars are way too thick and can easily block your view of a pedestrian when turning. Also, the hood has a raised edge near where the hood meets the windshield, which often reflects sunlight right back into my eyes. The steering is a bit too stiff at low speeds. The interior seems to be made with soft, high quality materials. It is, however, a bit short on storage space. The car would benefit from a storage cubby between the front seats. The infotainment screen is a dull matte plastic instead of glass like on newer models. The display gets washed out easily in the sun and can be extremely slow to respond to touch inputs. Both the bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay work on and off. The vehicle's entire electrical system seems to suffer from a delayed response. Shutting off the engine, changing audio input, climate control settings -- everything seems to respond a split second too slowly after user input. It's definitely noticeable. Unfortunately, the overall build quality of the car is a bit weak as has historically been the case with Nissans. The door gaps between the front driver and passenger doors are wildly inconsistent, there are creaks and shudders in the dashboard and steering column, the power steering pump whines on startup, the drivetrain exhibits unpleasant noises at low speeds, the struts on the trunk lid squeak when closing, the insulation beneath the floor mats are not cut correctly and stick out, the plastic latch on the glovebox feels flimsy. The optional trunk cargo cover broke within the first year when one of the rubber legs snapped off. The replacement unit, which took the dealer 4 months to obtain, does not fit properly, is made from even flimsier plastic, and rattles like crazy when driving. The car just does not look or feel solid and is not up to Honda and Toyota standards. That being said, this car was an absolute steal (3 year/36k mi lease @ $350/month plus $350 drive off). At this price point, these are compromises I'm willing to live with, but I don't see myself purchasing this car at the end of the lease period.

Disappointed re 2019 Murano Safety controls
Began to lease a 2019 Murano about 4 weeks ago. This is my third Nissan Murano. I regard the Murano as a blue-collar version of the Lexus SUV. This is not intended to be a criticism but a compliment. Murano is almost as good as the Lexus SUV (but less expensive) and much better than other SUVs such as the jeep. The Murano has many of the bells and whistles found in the Lexus SUV, for example and is a very comfortable SUV. >>>>>>>>>>> BUT, I do have a problem: I am NOT able to turn off permanently certain settings. Specifically, the 2019 Murano has a rear camera sensor that sounds an alarm and triggers the brakes to freeze if the Murano is coming too close to an object while going in reverse gear. Generally that is a nice safety feature. My problem, however, is that I have a steep driveway. When I back the Murano out of the driveway the brakes lock because the camera senses the road abutting my driveway as an obstacle. Very annoying when this happens and in the winter time, the brakes freezing could cause the rear of the Murano to become damaged when the brakes lock as I approach the end of my driveway -- causing the rear end of the SUV to hit the road. Before I signed the lease, I was told by the car salesman at Legend Nissan in Syosett, NY that I could turn off this rear sensor feature. WRONG!!! Not only that, the sales manager (peter, first name) disclaimed any responsibility for this matter notwithstanding that the car salesmen told me in advance of my leasing the Murano that I could turn this rear-end safety feature off, if I wanted to do that. What i was not told was that the rear-end safety feature automatically re-engages each time I start the Murano the next time I use it. There is NO way to turn off this safety feature on a permanent basis. Ii is inexcusable that Nissan manufacturer did not give the driver the ability to turn off certain settings on a permanent basis if that is what the driver wants or needs to do!!!!!!!!

Annoying murano
The design of the Murano's hood in the way that it has like 3 inch incline right by the windshield is a definitely a miss. Whenever there is sun above you, it reflects the sun right on your eyes/face. Also visibility of the car isn't too great due to the slimmed down design. Now the most annoying thing for my Murano is that the frontal impact avoidance warning system. This thing keep beeps saying that it is unavailable, then after few minutes it becomes available. Then wait 10 minutes or so it beeps and become unavailable. I am hearing this thing beep constantly every 5 to 10 minutes. The dealer couldn't fix the problem either.

Disappointed
I don't own one but I did test drive several models even took home the one I planned on purchasing to get my wife's opinion. A white platinum Murano with light beige interior..Very attractive with all the bells and whistles. My wife is on the short side, 5 ft, and on getting in asked me how to raise the seat because the seat adjustment wouldn't raise it, she couldn't see out of the front with that lip design on the hood. To my amazement the passenger seat had no height adjustment..A $48+K near luxury car and it has no height adjustment for the passenger? Had I bought it it'd mean she would have to sit on a pillow making the heat and cooling option nearly useless. I returned it to the dealer and told the salesman that but for the barely usable passenger seat I would have bought it. He said that regardless of the trim level none of the Nissan's have height adjustable passenger seats. Unbelievable!
