Used 1999 Nissan Maxima SE 4dr Sedan Consumer Reviews
Cheap original parts
I am the original owner, soon to be 4 years. The car is good, no questions about it. Main source of the problems - cheap and low-quality original parts that owner is responsible for. Tires wore out in 30K, clutch in about 48K of highway driving!!! A lot of people I know have the same problems: Nissan produces Maxim cheaper by pushing extra maintenance over owners. Beware!!!
Good Car!
This was my second Nissan Maxima SE. I had no problems with the vehicle. I truly recommend it. I only had to replace the brakes, tires, and battery once. Very good car. I am looking to sell it now and buy a new one.
Solid Performer
Bought a white- pearl coat automatic 99'SE but w/ an interesting twist. It has cloth heated seats! Actually better than leather because it heats up faster. Breaks and muffler system are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced to fix. Overall it is fun to drive, the payment does not kill you and it is just a very solid performer. A Stick might be more fun!
Maxima, best car for the price
This is a wondeful automobile. Nissan has the best engine going. Smooth performance. No service issues and the most reliable car I've owned. This is a great sports car feel disguised as a sedan
Maxima SE 5-spd
Bought my SE 5 spd for a steal. $13,500 and it looks brand new. BOSE system is great. Big, easy-to-use knobs/buttons. My 1993 SE (209,000 miles w/ original clutch!) had the BOSE but its faceplate was half the size. Auto climate makes you wonder what you ever did w/o it. Leather is in great shape and two power seats is what you usually see only on high-end luxo cars. I wish Nissan had opted for a built-in antenna. The power antennaes always seem to develop a problem. I agree with the previous post...the SE is a BMW 5-series for a lot less money. I'll check back in when my 1999 duplicates my 1993 and crosses the 200k mile mark!
