2024 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews

Best Altima
I have the Altima SV, quietest and smoothest drive I’ve experienced with great pickup. The sound quality is excellent. Would recommend apple car play over the more finicky android car play.

Great Ride
Really super nice car, MPG is outstanding, smooth quiet ride, SR trim has plenty of options to satisfy most drivers. Don’t let the negative reviews fool you, this car is not a sports car but has ample power for the everyday driver. Regarding reliability, if you take care of it with regular maintenance and drive responsibly it will serve you well for many years.

First one
I love it! Smooth, responsive, and handles great on the interstate. I recommend to any one looking at an affordable car with great looks!
As good as my last 2020 Altima
My last 2020 Altima was the best auto I have ever owned and this new 2022 is every bit as good. One improvement I liked was the change to a manual rear view mirror. The earlier version had a slower reacting electronic LCD dimmer when the bright lights hit, and was not dark enough to shield my eyes. Now with a snap of my finger the mirror darkens immediately, and makes night time driving easier. Gas mileage is fantastic from the standard 4 cylinder front wheel drive combo, with plenty of power to cruise at high speeds. I highly recommend this auto to anyone who enjoys the sleek design and great handling of this auto.

5 months after buying...
THIS WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW, NOT USED. Speakers completely went out 3-4 times and seat heaters started working only intermittently. 4 months after that, I GOT IN THE CAR ONE DAY, IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. No warning lights, no engine issues or weird noises/movements, nothing...only the speaker/seat heater issues months before. Had to tow to dealership, miss work, and get myself a rental car to only partly be reimbursed later by Nissan. Repair shop said it was a defective battery and replaced it. Speakers/heaters worked fine after this!! Fast forward 2 months, speakers go out again and heaters act up. I take back to dealership, they insist nothing is wrong with speakers or seat heaters, so nothing fixed! I'm sure I'll be stranded again in the near future... UPDATE: Nissan never fixed anything on that car-I had to trade it back in and get another one (more $ out of my pocket). I've had the new 2024 Altima for about 1 1/2 yrs-electrical issues, AC cuts in and out, etc...I WILL NOT GO WITH NISSAN AGAIN.

New and impressive
I have a 2024 Altima SR, which i absolutely love. The new massive front grille, sharp body lines and dual exhaust add a super sporty and aggressive look to the vehicle. The interior is superb in quality with very nice and comfortable seats, a massive display which is extremely responsive, and pretty quiet ride considering the SR trim has huge 19 inch wheels. The acceleration is more than enough to get up quickly when merging or passing, while still having a really great steering experience. The Altima is generally on the lower side of price this year but is with the front runners for quality, looks, and features. Also the new app is quite good as well with 3 years of premium connected services. I’m extremely pleased.

Beware of gas tank on new
I have a 2022 Nissan Altima Platinum. Only 2 months in I find out there is a hole in the gas tank. I never got really good gas milage on it, but I just figured it was because of how I drive. There is a manufacture issue with the gas tank. And to quote the service manager at Nissan of Greer in SC Shane Dover "this happens all the time it's just plastic".

Roadie!
On a 6400 mile road trip, my Altima got 42MPG on 87 octane regular when using cruise control and driving 75-85 mph. All around great performance. Could not be more pleased.

Bad transmission, do not buy
I'm currently leasing a 2022 Altima SR AWD with midnight package. The only reason I even gave this vehicle 3 stars is because of everything except the transmission. The transmission blew yesterday and I don't even drive the car hard. It is completely unacceptable for a new car to have a serious issue like this. I've owned two different Altimas in the past (1998, 2006) which really didn't have problems compared to the current one. I honestly believe the car would be fine if Nissan wouldn't have put a CVT in it. Apparently there are other Altima owners out there that have had the same transmission issue I've had. The rest of the car is fine so far. I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like I need to let other potential buyers know that it's a risk buying this vehicle. Thank goodness it's under warranty. Overall, I don't recommend getting this car.

Worst purchase ever!
I purchased a NEW 2022 Altima SR and right away as soon as i arrived home there was a burn plastic smell coming from under the hood, loud noises when breaking and turning steering wheel side to side. Up to now the vehicle has been in the dealership for a month now. If your looking to buy a new vehicle stay away from NISSAN. I learned this the hard way.

smoothest ride in it's segment
After my first test drive, I immediately decided to buy it. It has been over 5k and drive is as smooth as it can get. Feature list is also quite up to the mark at the price point. And space, that is quite a lot. Only concern I find sometime is that I am not sure my driving position is right as I feel my leg on paddle stressed a bit at times, not sure anyone else has experienced this. I am still trying to find that sweet spot for driving posistion.

Great Mix of Economy and Comfort
We have had our 2023 Nissan Altima SV for about 1 month and have driven just under 1,500 miles. We purchased this car because of the mpg ratings. We are averaging over 40 mpg so far which means I am enjoying this car. The mpg ratings beat the 2023 Honda Accord. The driving is responsive, the seats are comfortable, the pickup is quick (after our 2001 Windstar), but not as smooth or powerful as the 2023 Honda Accord with its turbo boost. The audio is great, and even without the added technology package I have enjoyed the seamless Bluetooth pairing. Trunk space has been sufficient for multiple bags, two violins, and two music stands, though it is a bit less than the 2023 Honda Accord. Wireless Android Auto would have been a nice as a standard feature without the technology package, but the ability to plug in works, and I cannot complain with how well it works. The Altima SV came with a power driver's seat that low-end models of the Accord did not offer. I think the car is a great value when compared to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry if you are looking for updated technology, great gas mileage, and a lower price than the other two vehicles we considered while still getting a car rated to last 250,000.

Paint job is a mess
I like my car other than it being extremely uncomfortable and the rocker panels on both side the paint is HORRIBLE! You can not only see the runs but can feels where the paint just dripped everywhere. This is highly ridiculous especially in a brand new car
The Altima that could
Coming from a 2021 Nissan Maxima I knew I was taking a bit of a step down even though I opted for the top trim Altima VC Turbo. Although there a few areas that the maxima does have a clear advantage in such as steering feel and small niceties like the ambient interior lighting and tilt down mirrors, the Altima continues to surprise me with just how ninble and confident the vehicle is. The larger HD screen, the acceleration from the VC Turbo and excellent fuel economy make me proud to have made the switch. I do wish however Nissan did offer the auto dimming mirror and some of the options from the Maxima given the vehicles price point of nesrly $37,000. Overall a good purchase and will continue to be a Nissan fan.

3 week rental review
I have had the SL trim Altima for 3 weeks now. It drives smoothly, handles well, gets good gas mileage. Don't care for the low profile tires, as it decreases the ride quality a bit. The car has enough get up and go for most situations. The CVT actually doesn't bother me too much. Leather seats are nice. If you don't mind the low profile of a sedan, this is a nice, cheaper option than the camry or accord. Has more features and tech for less.

I love this car and features, color
Mediocre
Not a fan of this Altima. It is my 5th and it is supposed to be loaded. Remote start works but in the cold frosty weather the rear window defrost doesn't stay on so I still need to scrape and the front window doesn't clear all the way after 2 starts. The turn signal sound is annoying and makes it sound like a cheap vehicle. The Rogue i traded in was much better than this. This vehicle has a lot of shiny things to distract you from what you are missing, that only lasts a couple days until you miss actual features.

Misery
This is by far the worst car I ever drove. The assisted driving mode would give the cop behind me the idea I was drunk the way it constantly darts from the center line to the ditch. If I passed a car flashing lights and alarms start going of. If I drove by a tree this garbage would start going off. You feel and hear every crack or imperfections in the pavement. Forget trying to use the cruise control, it hammers the brakes so hard you get thrown ahead in your seat, it constantly disengages with all the flashing lights and alarms. Its almost like they designed this car for complete idiots that can't drive their car. My wife has a jetta and it is so superior to the nissan that there is no comparison.

Boring Car.
The seats are uncomfortable. The engine and steering lack in refinement. The Android auto lacks what VW's offer. The head unit is slow and touchy. The car feels cramped. I have this car as a rental and dread driving it. The CVT is not good. Least favorite transmission out there.

No room for anything
My husband wanted the Altima for the fast pickup drive and the good gas mileage. I needed a new car so we went shopping. We both decided to look at the Nissans being we like our daughters Sentra. My husband wanted the Altima because it was supposed to be bigger than a Sentra and faster. He talked me into getting it. I didn’t like it at all because there is no place to put anything in it and the trunk is small. They had some big tray with black packages of safety stuff that took up most of the trunk. Not a good thing. There would be no room for groceries like bottled water or cases of pop. That big black tray took the whole back of the trunk up. I wasn’t too happy seeing how small that trunk was and the door storage was tiny too. You can’t fit a bottled water in it. It has to be a small bottle of water and one little pack of Kleenex in it. The council in front seat is tiny also. You can barely fit a pair things in that either. You can’t put anything under the seat like a small umbrella because that would interfere with the electric seats. That are snug to the floor. The glovebox is a real joke. All it fits is the book and not much else. The car is not made for family or women it travel at all. No room for stuff. The guy that sold it to us pressured my husband by telling him a deal on two thousand dollars off is going to end the next day if he wants it. He made the Decision to buy it that day because of the pressure the guy gave him on a deal. I hate this car. I wish we never went to that dealership. All I wanted to do is shop first and take my time to decide and not be rushed into it. This car has now cost us a huge marital spat. I wish I had my Ford fusion back. It had room for things unlike this tin can. A side by side would hold more things. I feel like I am boxed in it. Not happy at all. The passenger seat had a seatbelt that seemed like a guillotine choking me. We tried the sister car and it was better. My husband decided to buy that second one. I didn’t have time to even decide or get a better look on the space of it. All my husband was thinking of was saving 2000.00. I got took on it and now stuck with it. It was no deal for me at all. A pricy tin can cramped box. Don’t buy it if you are a women that likes places to put things like zipper compartments in a purse. This car is like a small evening hand bag with only room for your keys and a small wallet. I hate the car. A bicycle would hold more weight hints too.

Basic ... very basic
The vehicle is a 2024 and there's no Apple CarPlay/Android Auto?? There is no unlock request switch on the door handles. You have to take the key fob out of your pocket every time you unlock your Altima.

A great alternative choice
Overall this vehicle is a great balance between being a fuel efficient commuter car and being a sporty fun to drive alternative to other comparable V6's. Pros include a quiet and comfortable cabin, great safety technology and an engine thats both eager to please and easy on the wallet. The only real area of improvement for me has to do with the overall design of the cabin. While some visual enhancements and nicer stitching on the seats and other surfaces were made this year, the cabin still feels to simplistic and is missing some more upscale amenities found in other similarly priced vehicles; such as ambient interior lighting and memory seating. Still I'm happy with my choice and I do get compliments on the black exterior and nice dark alloy wheel combination.

Nissan Altima 2023
MPG is great, it greatly exceeds rating. Passenger seat sits way to low and not adjustable. The non automatic air conditioning terrible. Interior and comfort are great
Have been driving a Frontier for years
Altima SL has all the tech and safety features you need plus a 12.3 inch infotainment display with wireless connectivity. The Altima is comfortable to drive and has plenty of room. 188 horses is plenty and mpg’s are excellent. I’m downsizing from a 2022 Frontier as I’m retiring and need a car to travel more.
