Used 2005 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews
love this car
I went from a jeep to this because of the gas mileage and the distance that I have to drive now. I have to say that I wasn't so sure about how I would like this car but so far I am very pleased. The ride could be a lot less noisier and the exterior mirrors are too small. It is a very comfortable car and the MPG was wht made me consider buying it. The arm rest looks cheap compare to the rest of the interior. I think NISSAN can make a heavier arm rest.
Excellent Used Car Value
I've had my eye on an '05 or '06 for a while and finally bought one. I owned a '00 before this, was looking for same reliability, quality, and engagement. The '05 doesn't disappoint. Has all that plus more gadgets, more power, more room, and more style. There are a few lower quality bits, such as the storage nook doors on the dashboard, steering wheel and radio switches. The center console levers are flimsy and the upper storage area is really cheap. However, places you touch most are soft and quality-feeling. I'm satisfied with my Altima. I'm averaging 25-30 MPG per tankful (it's a big tank at 20 GALs). It falls short of perfection in the details, but it doesn't keep me from liking it.

Good Car for the Money
Really Good Car, for the money! Interior in the 05 is a big improvement. Nissan with a few more tweaks this car would lead the pack. Hopefully the redesign will improve, and I will try it again.
Unsatisfied after 3 years
I just traded in my Altima after 3 years and 57,000 miles because of a few fairly large issues in my opinion: 1) Loud Road Noise 2) Rough ride over bumps 3) Replaced front breaks at 35,000 miles 4) Replaced back breaks at 45,000 miles 5) Replaced bent rim at 35,000 miles 6) Replaced battery at 56,000 miles 7) Very wide turning radius If you want a FUN car to drive, this car will do it for you. The 3.5 engine is simply unbelievable. It's also a very attractive car. However, if you're looking for ride quality, steer completely clear of this vehicle because you will be very disappointed.
A good car,but....
I like my new Altima. Have about 5k on it. Things I don't like are...Can't read instruments-poor design, lighting. can't read radio dial. Back up lights ineffective. Roof poorly insulated-noisy wheb raining. Sun roof..wind noise at higher speeds
