Best car I ever owned

I picked up my car on 1/12/2009. I have been a Mercedes owner for about 10 years. This by far is the best Mercedes ever built. It runs fantastic, it is tight and floats on air type of ride. The car itself was well worth the money I paid and getting a 2010 so early was great as I have a big jump before depreciation sets in.

Bought mine Oct 2011. It's a 2010 and had 30,000 miles on it. It's been 4 months, I have put 10,000 miles on it and I LOVE it. It's comfortable and reliable and I get so many compliments on it. I'm ready for it to snow so I can see how it performs on snow and ice.

One of the most underrated MB of all time

So to be honest, back then and still today, GLK are pretty not well appreciated as it should be in the market and by the people. Comparing other SUV/Cars that I had own (Maserati, Porsche, Lexus, Cadillac, and Land Rover), without no doubt this is one of the most reliable Mercedes I ever seen and in fact I think its one of the best they ever made, as I consider it one of the very few REAL Mercedes out there like the Old School. My dad bought it pre-owned with 14,000 miles back then, and currently it has 110,000 miles currently. In the beginning, in the electronics was the thing that was giving us the most problems. However, after the dealer took it in and fix the problem, it has not giving any problem as of today. With the only exception being that the radio tuner in the center console currently doesn't work when rotating and the front cigarettes outlet. Beside from that, this car major issues are mostly Brakes and Suspension. Suspension in particular are the most often part that will cause issue. Brake pads get used up pretty fast. Beside from that, if you change your oil, the engine will have zero problem. The only time the engine gave us any problem was 5 times. 1) Being that the engine belt broke(2) (but a quick fix is enought to do the job). 2) the intercooler tube just broke away (1) (quick fix) 3) being the most common with our (but is not the engine itself) is the engine support (2). I highly suggest that avoid low quality parts and aftermarket garbage parts. Its not worth sometimes to cheap out in this department. Meanwhile, the lightbulbs has a tendency to burn out quickly than usual. Please, do not take this transmission to any typical mechanic. I highly recommend that if your transmission is broken (which is rare as the transmission is pretty reliable and old school) to be fix by a competent mechanic in Mercedes or even to Mercedes themselves. The transmission is very reliable, however, my mechanic did a horrible job with it, so its not Mercedes fault at all. If interior trims and parts are a concerns for you, I gotta say it has held spot on. Typical plastic problems, but obviously this generation of Mercedes suffer with too much plastic parts that will break or have visible scratches. However, in this department get aftermarket parts because MB will try to rip you off in this one. For real, this car has been more reliable than my Lexus RX from 2010. No joke. As the transmission and engine in the Lexus has had multiple serious problems overall. This makes BMW and Audis of it time look like Yugos. Now going into performance, this MB is very sharp and agile. Its nimble and very comfortable. The torque and acceleration is extremely good. To this day, the car with all its millage, still goes on like it was brand new. The transmission has a good response. When going above 100mph+ you get to have many wind noise ironically, rather than engine noise, due to the design of it. However, the GLK, when accelerating and starting the engine, does have a good feedback and noise. It's also very easy to drive and handle at very high speed, in fact you won't notice (if you have the radio on) the speeds that your going at because of the quality. The only problem is that its kind of thirsty in fuel in its category. Cargo is good and visibility is excellent (due to the squarish shape). As I mention in the title, this MB is pretty much underrated because its actually a very good buy overall. It's extremely solid mechanically and very solid when driving like how a true Mercedes should be. When changing the transmission, it makes some old-school noise. The fit and finish is actually spot on to this day.

Although I have had to do some repair/;maintenance on my GLK, I love how it drives, stops, the most comfortable car I have ever owned. I will keep this car until it has at least 250,000 miles.

I loved that GLK350 was so smooth, it is my first Mercedes. My SUV was purchase on 5/21/2009, and at 90 miles the radio/command center would not power on. So I brought the SUV to the dealer they checked it out for a day and said there was nothing wrong. A week later at 110 miles the Tire Pressure Monitoring system malfunctioned. And would report tire pressure issues. Now it just says Tire Pressure Monitoring system is inoperable. And the radio still dies. I have brought the car back to dealership and they are looking into these issues. Its been a day and still they don't know whats wrong :( If you are considering buying GLK350 you should think twice. As the build quality is sub par.
