My first Mercedes Benz . . . I really researched SUV's, looking for that perfect balance of utility, comfort and reliability. I went out of my way to get one with standard tires, the ride is so much better, smoother. It maybe doesn't look very flashy, but then flash was not something I wanted. The seats could be a little more comfortable, they're only ok, they are hard and begin getting uncomfortable after long hours of driving. The pick-up is smooth and immediate, easy to pass. The Distronic cruise control is beyond wonderful, it makes long drives so much more pleasant and easier too. The entertainment system is excellent, very intuitive and the console knob is very convenient and easy to operate. While the bluetooth phone hooks right up without any problem, connecting your music is a little harder and is my only complaint with the entertainment options. Navigation is great. Over the past 10 years I've driven a couple of Escalades (and every year they are little more uncomfortable and missing another bell or whistle), Tahoe (how much stick on plastic pieces can they fit in the interior?), Navigator (why oh why does Ford/Lincoln not get on board with adaptive cruise control in their most luxurious SUV?). The Mercedes beats them all, on all fronts. It's quieter, smoother, more responsive. Cruise control holds as well going downhill as on a flat surface. We don't need the 3rd row of seats and they fold down easily and flat, creating a large cargo area. MB offers great mats and containers built to fit, making optimal use of the area. Body built in America, engine built in Germany. I turned off the lane minder feature, I found the vibration and gentle guide back into my lane aggravating, would probably turn it on if I was driving sleepy, otherwise it's just too sensitive. Overall, great vehicle . . . I hope it continues to exceed my expectations.

3rd GL. Still an impressive vehicle

2015 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL 450 4MATIC 4dr SUV AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbo 7A)

This is our 3rd GL. We have owned a 2007 GL450, a 2011 GL550 and now a 2015 GL450. Each time we have test driven other vehicles and ended up back at the Mercedes dealer. PROs: Real 7 adult capacity - The back seat is a little of a climb but it can comfortably seat 2 reasonably sized adults for moderate distances. Drives less "trucky" that the truck-based SUVs - This is a unibody and therefore is not built on a truck frame. That allows for lower ride height and more stable feeling SUV with a lower lift height to put stuff in the back. Decent power and ride - This is a change from the old V8s and is a little more slow to respond when accelerating from a moderate pace (the old V8s were quicker) but it is still very reasonable for a vehicle this size. It is also a great highway cruiser with comfortable seats and non-fatiguing driving position. Many safety gizmos available - Lane departure warning, front impact warning, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, headlights that follow the curves all make for a safer ride. Interior - Although the electronics are not the best the interior is pretty darn nice. Leather wrapped dash, doors, real wood and solid overall feel to the controls and buttons. CONS: Expensive to fix/maintain - MB is one of the more expensive models to maintain. Just a fact. New sets of brakes/rotors every 30-40K miles, general maintenance in the $300-$500 range and this isn't a cheap car to own. Add in that it requires Premium Unleaded and this isn't a cheap vehicle Transmission can range from smooth to harsh - Usually, it shifts very smoothly but every once in a while it will hard upshift/downshift. All 3 I have owned have done this. It never inspired confidence but I ran my last one to 144K miles and it was still going strong when I traded it. Electronics are only ok - Nothing overly exciting about the NAV or Command system as a whole. It works but is a little clunky and low resolution. Summary: Safe, comfortable vehicle that performs well and feels like a luxury vehicle. Electronics are only okay and your wallet/pocketbook won't be thrilled but for some people that extra cost is worth it.

GL Diesel: Great SUV Sluggish Performance

This is one of the finest SUV's available being beat only by Land Rover Range Rover Diesel which lists for about 25-30k more. The GL's acceleration is sluggish and is much less nimble than my X-5 diesel. The GL offers more space than the BMW and has excellent fuel economy given its size. The premium package excludes adaptive xenon headlights and 3 zone climate control which is ridiculous. The standard halogen lights are anemic at best so it is imperative to order any Mercedes with xenon lamps. Do not purchase a Mercedes without upgraded headlights! Another bad call by the manufacturer was not to include as a standard feature 3 zone climate in a vehicle with a third row. Make certain your GL has 3 zone climate control otherwise you can be certain the third row will be very uncomfortable in summer months or warmer climates. My car included the rear seat entertainment package. The operation of this package is by remote controls so is beyond my four year olds ability rendering it useless. Furthermore the rear monitors can only be operated from the rear seats. Skip this package an I-pad is a much better choice. There is only one USB port in this car. Mercedes seems to lag behind its US competitors in amenities and technology. The car has many attributes and is the most practical SUV currently being marketed. Until something better in its class comes to market this still is a hard car to beat.

in the shop every other week

I can look back and guarantee on paper my GL goes in the shop almost every other week, I am very disappointed comparing this car to our Lexus, the Lexus has been in the shop at 30k for the key fob not working and to clean the ac filter due to a smell. AS for the GL we have been in the shop all the time for brakes, sensors, squealing brakes oil leak, rear shock for rear door was not working, transmission trouble, squeaking window, right front air shock had to be replaced, the shock is still making noises when you go over a speed bump, bad design glove box that cant store much and always gets jammed, very cheap center wheel caps that need replacing all the time, so many sensors you will be in the shop getting them replaced and while you are there you might as well do your high price service that can run up to 1200.00. Yes 1200.00 and that is with out getting anything fixed. The service is to keep your car under the MB warranty and if you don't decline the service it will void the warranty. I feel like I keep the dealership lights on while they look for there next person that is as uneducated as I was when i bought this big rolling pieces of junk. When i pull up next to some one with a Mercedes I feel bad for them. I know this for a fact, Most people that work for the Mercedes dealership Don"t drive Mercedes, but if they do they usually are driving it for free. One mechanic stated to me that he likes the MB but due to the high price of parts he stays away. If you buy a Mercedes or a GL and you feel like nothing is going your way remember I told you so.

Best SUV I have ever owned

I have owned many luxury SUV's over the years and my GL550 has been the most all satisfying SUV that I have owned. You can usually find one thing to like about any SUV, but when the product receives high marks in every category of owner satisfaction, I am inclined to believe I have found the best in class for the moment. This is my second GL550, and that should be an indication of my satisfaction, as I also shopped other luxury brands before buying the second GL550. I have every option on my GL550, and that's how I generally order all my new vehicles, as that tends to increase owner satisfaction, but the basic unit is solid and sets a high bar of meeting expectations in this category. I have the upgrade Designo interior in my current GL550, and find this expensive option to be worth every dollar, as the seat comfort on long trips is exceptional to the standard seat. Our Audi A8 has the upgraded Audi interior, and has the most comfortable seats in the industry (pretty much sets the bar for comfort), and the GL550 gets as close as anything to an Audi interior experience. The Mercedes product line is very customizable to personal taste, so I suggest that you pick your salesman carefully, so that you receive a exceptional experience in learning about the product before buying. As a note of caution, I have friends that felt conflicted after taking delivery of their new Mercedes cars, because after a couple weeks of ownership, they learned about what their car did not have, which included many items that they expected to be included, because they were talking too and buying from an inexperienced salesman. I have done a follow-up review of my previous comments shown above, and I still stand by the original comments. This industry segment is becoming crowed with new entries into the luxury segment, but the value of the new entries is questionable when you looking at starting prices that would scare a Billionaire. I am anxiously waiting for the totally redone 2020 Mercedes Benz GLS. I now have forty-thousand miles on my GL, and I have had zero issues. I replaced the original equipment summer-tires with all-season Continental tires and that change actually improved handling, ride, and traction on wet roads. Gone are the days of hydroplaning on wet or slushy roads, I hope. I am now at 70,000 miles and just replaced the brake calipers for the first time. The all-season tires are still better than the original equipment, but they also hydroplane after 20,000 miles. I have to blame the width of the tires for this aggravation. My last set of tires started vibrating at about 18,000 miles, and the mechanic said they have seen this happen on several suv's with wide tires. Their theory is that the suspension is not structurally strong enough to handle the lateral forces being applied to the wide tires, and results in the tires wearing uneven with flat spots about the perimeter of the tire. It was very visible when looking at the tires that the wear pattern was spotty and uneven around the tire. The vehicle itself has been a pleasure to own and I am anxiously waiting for the 2020 GLS release. I am always shopping for my next suv and the market is getting saturated with great suv's. But in the GLS class, there are few brands that offer the same luxury and owner satisfaction in this size vehicle. I am now at 80,000 miles and have just placed an order for the newest 2020 edition GLS 580. Many technology improvements, as well as an array of options to personalize the car. I considered the BMW X7, the SWB full size Range Rover, and the updated 2020 Audi Q7. The SUV field is getting crowded with every brand chasing after SUV customers. My feelings are that Only Ford and Lincoln understand luxury among the US manufacturers, and that is a recent epiphany on their part. GM will never understand luxury. Mercedes has stepped-up significantly, to push more luxury in the GLS model. I am not in favor of a Mercedes/Maybach Luxury SUV, because it will negatively impact and limit how far Mercedes will consider expanding luxury features into the GLS model. How else do you justify the Maybach SUV's price, other than hold back the GLS.

Excellent 7 seat luxury SUV with nice & improved features

We purchased the '15 GL450 as a family vehicle/daily use vehicle for my wife. It's a perfect luxury 7 seat SUV in my opinion. It's roomy, both elegant and athletic inside. I was sort of hesitant on the new V6 bi-turbo engine but what a pleasant surprise! Though the engine sound is not as pleasing as the V8, the performance speaks for itself. It has similar performance as the naturally aspirated V8 in the X164 (GLs before '13) while getting better gas mileage. We've owned the previous version GL450 & GL350 and the interior, especially the "technology" has definitely improved significantly. The navi system is now somewhat user friendly, though not as nice as the Japanese cars and Audi MMI.

GL63 AMG Money Pit

Excellent SUV worth every penny (it's a hotrod) until you get between 10K and 14K miles, then you realize brakes need replacement. Yes, pads and rotors need to be replaced (light turns on) and there is no way to replace just pads. Cost $2400 for front and back brakes. $250 for 10K mile service, $800 for 40K mile and $1200 for 50K mile. Great SUV but very high maintenance $$$

Just got this family mover four months ago. It is no doubt a beautiful truck, and is loaded with all kinds of technological gizmos. However, that may be its downfall because a multitude of annoyances keep cropping up and sending us to the dealer: LED lights not working, tire sensor failure, power seat failure, etc. Finally, one morning the car was dead in the garage. A $100K car that would not give any sign of life or start with only 4000 miles on board. Had to have it towed to the dealer where they are still "trying to figure out what happened". Update: Regarding the above problem they found out that one of the air suspension shocks valve shorted and it drained the battery. The piece was replaced and the problem was solved. We've now owned this vehicle for over two years and had to change the tires twice already. Both under 20K miles. The dealer said that the lower profile tires with "softer" rubber are the reason. Perhaps, but that combined with quite a bit of wheel camber and directional tires makes for rapid uneven wear of the tires requiring changing them early at the tune of $350 each tire. Something to keep in mind. We also had multiple issues with the AC system developing an unpleasant musty smell. We live in Florida and AC is a must. It is humid here and there is something about the pipes that causes them to retain condensation and moisture leading to this issue. The AC has been "flushed" and sanitized multiple times, but the unpleasant smell persists. USB connectivity for this year model was poor and difficult to set up. Their remote app is also difficult to use and of limited functionality. Regarding navigation I routinely use Google Maps in my phone now as it surpasses anything cars' navigation can offer. Also, we had to bring the car in several times for tire balancing and alignment due to recurrent vibration at speeds above 70mph. After the service things improved but the ride always has a significant amount of vibration. This is more glaring when I compare it to our other car, a Land Rover, that has a fantastic ride at all speeds. Disappointing at this price range. Overall, I would not buy this particular model from Mercedes. Perhaps it has too many parts from Chrysler, I don't know but many annoyances and quality problems.

8K$ car (GL550 -2015- Only gave blue tech as trim option via Edmunds review? pull down window)). Sales was outstanding. Issues with the Transmission/Tires/window seals/AC mold issues all within the first 4000 miles. Spent over 2 weeks in the shop in under 5 months of ownership. Once the sale is made you deal with the abyss of service and quality issues. This is the most disappointed I've been in a new car purchase in over 25 years.

Had my gl350 bluetec for service at local dealer for a throttle issue. They said they repaired it. The same issue - putting foot on the throttle to drive and the car hardly moves - happened again within 3 mos. The second visit to the same dealer, my car was there for 2 weeks and they couldn’t figure out the problem. They said it “could be” a separate issue that cost $5k to do, but they weren’t sure that was the issue. All this and the car warranty ended 3 days after I picked up the car. Never a Mercedes again in my life!

"Nothing but the best" what a joke

The GL450 has so many problems, that dealers across the country and head quarters do not know how to fix, the customer frequently hears "we have no idea what is wrong or how to fix your problem." I had a Lexus LX 470 and as soon as I can get the Mercedes out of the shop, they have had it for 9 days, I am headed for Lexus and trading it in. The vehicle backfires on every cold start, a very dangerous situations. "Nothing but the best, the safest, technologically advanced;" far from it. Mercedes you are better than this. Step up your game and your customer service response. I was told today by Mercedes corporate customer care group "they had no idea when they would have an answer or solution to the backfire problem. When I said do you think you will know something by December, the regional claims manager stated "I have no idea." "Nothing but the best?" I will never recommend or buy another Mercedes.

We've owned our 2015 GL diesel since early summer, and just completed a 3600 mile camping road trip through the 4-Corners region, involving highway and off-road travel with the truck loaded to the gills. we averaged 26.4 mpg for the trip as a whole, even though freeways in Utah and some of New Mexico were 80 mph. The front seats are very firm, well contoured but we used soft seat pads from Costco for 8 hour drive days. The truck handled very well off road an freeway driving is extremely comfortable. The turning radius is quite remarkable, well less than our prior Lexus LX470 making parking and maneuvering easy. The engine did have a "check engine" light go on, in Nevada, and was checked at a Reno dealership who said no problem to continue the trip--it turned out to be a faulty exhaust temp sensor, since replaced under warrantee. Maintenance costs have been reasonable. We're very happy with the vehicle.

GL AMG not a vehicle for daily use

GL63 not recommended by me as a value purchase for daily use, After just 36k miles I've had two sets of brakes ($2k each) and two sets of tires ($1.5k each). Oil change is only annual but runs $300-$400. Voice Recognition in my GL63 is not user friendly and must only understand German. Navigation is poorer than any car I owned. Unrealiable, Inconsistent, Quirky, freezes and just don't work. As I commented Voice recognition is the worst . The door auto unlocking doesn't always work. I can not justify purchasing another GL AMG. Just not enough for the money $130K. Need to trade before another set of brakes, tires or oil change. Wonder power but I guess I'm just not rich enough.

This car seems very well made; its a tank. MB uses materials that seem very durable, even if unusual and hard to clean. This SUV is a good size, big but not huge. The front seats aren't quite as comfortable as I expected but not bad. The SatNav is easy to use and up to date with lots of search options. Connectivity is top notch, USB, iPad, WiFi Hotspot, and more (MB is a button push away like OnStar). Lots of technology innovations that you wouldn't know about unless someone told you. The 2nd, 3rd row seats are very easy to raise and lower with a push of a button. Lots of convenience items, like 120 V outlet, full size spare with jack, electric park brake, push button/lever shifter. If you want to keep the price down you will likely have to special order which is what I did (2-3 month wait). I can't comment on the advanced techno features like Park Assist, Lane Keeping, Night Vision, etc. since I didn't get those features. The vehicle is heavy but has enough power to accelerate well from start (with a lot of gas pedal). This car is designed to save gas and it does that well (e.g. Eco Start/Stop). I love the Brake Hold feature! Also has first ever eco-friendly tires from Pirelli that seem pretty good plus quiet. The car drives remarkably well and is well mannered when parking. Perfect soccer mom car with some luxury and glitz. I look forward to driving again. My last car was a Shelby GT500 which was fun but tiring compared to this car. Not liking the bare aluminum running boards so much. After several years they will look nasty if you don't take good care of them. This car is the widest in its class so lots of room. I compared a LOT before buying this one. Rumor: MB will be cutting supply to the US.

Don't be fooled by the Mercedes Badge

The GL550 is quick, looks good, and is made of high quality materials. My sticker was 95K. I enjoyed the vehicle for about 900 miles., but prior to 5k Miles there was over 6k worth of warranty work that included tires, transmission, window seals, and an HVAC smell that was similar to mold. This was my first Mercedes and my hopes were very high. I knew a lot of folks that had E and S series sedans and they mostly had no issues. If you spend the time to look very closely to consumer complaints and ratings of this vehicle you'll soon find out that the quality is sub-par across the board. Maintenance costs, breakdowns, ongoing known issue that should generate recalls but instead generate TB's (Technical Bulletins) that outline the known issues but give the dealership the "flexibility" to address the fix at their own discretion. Take the time to investigate the customer issues and total cost of ownership and you'll find this is a poor choice. I traded mine in at 19200 miles because I just got fed up with the downtime in the shop and all of the overall issues.

This one is awsome. I had 2 others previously a 2012, and 2014 with a LOT of problems. Had to trade both in just before 50k miles because every repair was $5k or more. Couldn't keep them past the warrantee. Paid for the $100k warrantee on this one. At 46k no repairs just general maintainance every 10k. No longer available after the 2016.

Awesome car

Ok we have had 4 of these cars just about to buy the fifth and they are one of the best cars you will ever have. Let's start with performance, acceleration is great reaching 100kph in just 4.9 seconds bearing in mind that this beast weighs a hefty 2500kg's. AMG package comes with performance breaks so no complaints there. The way these beast handle is amazing they are massive vehicles yet they cling to the corners like you wouldnt believe. We take ours on road trips and their favorite speed is at 260kph if u take off the speed limiter you can get these things out to about 320kph. I love the way these cars change gears it's so smooth and how could a car like this be bad when it sounds so good. Oh and the turbo whistle...who doesnt love it. The engine is a 5.5l v8 bi-turbo with 760 Nm's of torque and 410kw @ 5750 rpm. The comfort in the GL 63 is fantastic the front seats have heating, cooling and massage. The second row has heating. Sound proofing is great in these cars so much so I need to wind down the windows to hear that epic v8 roar. Overall ride comfort is exceptional especially when in comfort mode feels like you are riding on air. It is a spacious car with a spacious boot when the third row is layed flat. The interior design is sleek and luxurious with beautiful leather and trims. Controls are easy to navigate and the voice command setting works like a dream allowing you to navigate and make calls without your hands leaving the steering wheels. The interior quality is terrific with minimal wear and tear. Safety is one of the best features of this car because you know you arent just buying it to look pretty and show off you are also buying it to protect your family as best as possible especially in the case of an accident. They are very sturdy and safe cars with features such as auto seat belt tightening. Headlights are auto dimming which is great. Parking is a breeze in the GL63 with parking sensors and a 360° camera parallel parking is even easier with the auto parallel park feature. Overall an excellent car for safety. Entertainment is good with built in screens that play DVDs, TV and news, also comes with pre paired bluetooth headphones. Comes with built in navigation system which is very user friendly. Bluetooth is easy to use also with a "connect last device " feature which makes it easy to pair devices that are used often. Has a few USB ports that are easily accessible and good for charging phones or other devices. Air con works like a dream perfect for any season. From personal experience the repair frequency is not high. The dealerships are fantastic especially when the car is under warranty with extremely good mechanics we only ever use the proper Mercedes dealership for servicing and repairs the dealerships have great customer service also when purchasing the car you always get gifts like Mercedes chocolate, hats, wine, umbrellas etc. The engine, transmission and electronics are all exceptionally reliable as is the rest of the car. Great overall value for money highly recommended the investment. The Gl 63's rivalries dont even compare

the best utility vehicle, but not a luxury vehicle

Well, after the engine stalled on the interstate and a few years weeks work, MB determined it needed all new computers. It turned the engine & transmission into a very impressive operation with about a 2 MPG improvement as well. Still has super Hard seats, mediocre brakes and very odd handling. But, it is a tough vehicle- the best utility vehicle I have ever owned. It will pull a 7500 lb trailer with ease as well as lumber amd anything else you throw in there. But if you want comfort or luxury, don't get this. The most inaccurate auto climate control since 1960 doesn't help. It drives kind of like a 1990's SUV with a 2015 engine amd almost works.

Great Ride, Poor Engineering and Quality

First, our GL550 is fun to drive. It is fast and acceleration is great. The beast is quiet inside displays very little road noise and handles beautifully, even on rough surfaces. This is my wife’s vehicle and after 50,000 miles she is ready to say goodbye. After owning luxury brands for 20 years this was our first and, likely, last “Benz.” The BAD: we have replaced the Continental every 15,000 miles and are on our fourth set. The dealership will not provide any mileage warranty on tires it sells for this vehicle. At just over 30,000, we replaced brakes and at 35,000 spent over $1,000 on the suspension for worn out parts. Interval service cost is about $800 which is annoying. The electronics have had issues (short in rear DVD system) and the interface for this year is primitive, our 2011 Ford truck is far better and more intuitive. Finally, don’t expect great fuel economy for the V8, we average 14 mpg.

Gl is not an SUV!

i don't understand why Edmunds keep placing this vehicle on the first place among luxurious SUVs. I have followed Edmunds advice and had one for a year. I may say with full responsibility that 1) GL is not a real SUV, it is a crossover. On a rough road it fails. 2) The cockpit has a low ceiling, toll person can't get in without bending neck 3) reliability is low, within less than a year I had to go to dealer for repairs twice, one of them could have been quite expensive, if not under warranty. 4) Among all bells and whistles just a few make sense, others look attractive for a regular customer but are useless. 5) third raw is for two 3-years old only, besides an adult would have a hard time to get there. And so on... Anyway, after approximately a year i have traded it in to Lexus LX-570. Yes, this thing has less bells and whistles, but it is a real SUV. Yes, its voice recognition system sucks and navigation system is not as good as MB GL. But if you are about to purchase a luxurious SUV, go anywhere type, do not make a mistake being attracted by MB logo on a hood.

Bought this car with over 60k miles (still less than a 4 year old vehicle then) The smell of leather is very repulsive. The smell of the AC when you turn it on, it equally bad. Oil leaks from the Turbo charger started occurring at 64k miles. Losing power at 72k - result is need for dual turbo chargers replaced at a whopping > $5.2k. I've owned Mercedes Sedans all my life and switching to SUV was disappointing. Maybe I just got a lemon? If I were to do it all over again I would have kept my 2014 Chevy Tahoe.. far more comfortable ride, more space, and fairly low maintenance cost compared to this vehicle.

I have put 60,000 miles on this vehicle with zero problems. This SUV, is a beast! It's big, comfortable, luxurious and reliable. I can go almost 700 miles per tank on the freeway with plenty of torque and power. I have towed up to 5600 pounds with no problems whatsoever. One of the most comfortable rides available on any large SUV. The options to list on this vehicle or limitless, I suggest getting the massage seats!

Bought my GL450 used coming off a 3-year lease. I traded in my Toyota Sienna minivan and was surprised that the specs say it's a larger footprint than the minivan I traded in (make sure your garage can easily house a minivan!). After about 1.5 years of ownership, I feel I can properly assess the vehicle. As noted, I traded in a minivan and was specifically looking for something with 3 rows. The third row can accommodate 2 adults comfortably but there is a catch. The air vents I used to enjoy in the minivan for that third row was missing in the GL450! Apparently you have to upgrade to a higher package to get any sort of ventilation in that third row! Why anyone would make that an "option" is beyond me. Needless to say, it can get a little hot back there during the summer. With the third row up, you can maybe put about 4 grocery bags side by side back there but there's not a lot of trunk space. The "magic seat" that automatically folds the second row seats is cool but I'm definitely not looking forward to the day the electronics fail. The car drives well and is sporty enough where I don't regret passing over the GL550. Having been a minivan owner before, I guess I was already used to a large vehicle but some who are coming from much smaller cars will need to get used to the size! If I could do it over again, I would probably try to find some way to get the Audi Q7 now that it's based on the Atlas platform. *** 8/21/22 update *** When I bought this as a CPO, I also got the extended warranty. Boy am I glad I did! Had one glitch where the driver side door controls wouldn't work. That means no side mirror adjustments, power windows, and driver power seat adjustments (from memory or manually). The warranty paid for that with maybe 2 months to spare! Car was driveable but the problem was it was stuck on my seat settings and I'm not the primary driver! If you buy a new/used Mercedes, I highly recommend the extended warranty.

The car has terrible blind spots. The sideview mirrors are way too small. The safety warning systems for changing lanes do not help that much. The transmission bangs when changing gears at low speeds. The engine hesitates nearly all the time when accelerating. It chokes out like a gas engine in cold weather, makes for a dangerous situation when trying to pass. Decent mileage for a big car but the highway mileage never approach the rating. Have gone thru a few winters. Very reliable in all road conditions. Averaging between 22 mpg to 24 mpg. 500 to 575 miles between fill-ups. Have gotten used to the poor mirrors to some degree but I still turn around to change lanes. The transmission does not bang as much at low speeds. Bought new tires at 50,000 miles, brakes front and back at 52,000 miles.

Love the vehicle, handling, construction, interior space only drawback is that it seems that the dealerships have worked together to keep prices up on this vehicle. When You look at selling price in the Southern part of the Country prices are more realistic, by the way I have found some decent prices in NY. But I am looking for purchase in MA. so to have local service available. I will purchase one of these low mileage vehicles in the near future.

I’ve had 3 Mercedes and spent $250,000. All 3 were bad! GL 450 engine blew up at 75,000 miles. Mercedes said tough luck and wanted $30,000 to fix it. Second one died at 120,000 miles. Third one died at 65,000 miles. All 3 sold for less than $10,000. I lost over $100,000 In value. Mercedes dealer said again tough luck. Do not buy Mercedes. They just do not make reliable cars for the money.

There are more than 30 buttons on the central panel. For a car made in 2015, I felt the design was from year 2005. How old their technology was. In order to release the foot brake, instead of pushing it harder and release(like all other cars), you have to pull a button to release the brake. It took us more than 15 minutes to figure out the bluetooth.
