Best little convertible
I've had mine for 4 years and I still love it. So much fun to drive.
Painfully fun to drive
Loved the car, but couldn't take the low, hard seats and harsh ride. I do not think that the 17" tires helped the ride quality as well. Sold the car after only two months of ownership. It was fun to drive and got 27 mpg.

Grand touring power top
Fun car to drive. Great looking. Everyone who drives it is amazed. Plenty of power. Hard top is well worth it. Everything is excellent except on a trip over 2 hours, the seats are uncomfortable and you need to get out and stretch. Well worth it.
The car for me!

BELL'S 2007 GRAND TOURING PHT MANUAL M
I have only had this car for a little over a month. I have driven approximately 900 miles. 11,000 annual miles is a projection. I have ordered a SAT satellite radio and a CDC in-dash 6 disc CD/MP3 changer, but it has not been installed yet.
Just a fun car to drive!
I have had the car for over a year now and it is just as much fun to drive today and the very first time I stepped into the vehicle. It handles great and rides very nice for a small car. You can hold a conversation with your co-pilot even at 80 mph!
Still Love This Thing!
I originally posted here on 12/11/2006, three days after I picked up my MX-5. Well, here I am about 1 year later and I still love this car. I have nothing but great things to say -- still getting 30 mpg and have had no problems with the car. The PRHT is perfect; interior/exterior finish still looks great; no issues requiring any service or repair; extremely fun to drive with plenty of responsiveness; 6-speed automatic works great; still an amazing vehicle. I still suggest that you go get one!! ;-)
5 Stars for the new MX-5 PRHT
My 2007 PRHT MX-5 is awesome! I love everything about my roadster. It handles and drives great! The power top is nice and the cockpit is much quieter than a soft top. Love the 7 speaker Bose system and the heated seats! Thanks Mazda for building such a fantastic car!
My 3300 miles in an MX-5 PRHT GT
Well as the title say, I have driven 3300 miles now. The car has been flawless, I took it back to the dealer to have the advanced keyless remote reprogrammed to lock the car if I move more than 2 feet from the car. The remote stays in my pocket and works great. The retractable hardtop has been flawless and is a work of art. The trunk is larger than my old S2000 and while the MX-5 would loose a race to the more powerful S2000, it is just as fun to drive. The 17 inch wheels look great and the brakes work very well. My only complaint is the Bose 6cd/mp3 radio does not display RDS data or scroll the mp3 titles. Other than that the car has been every thing I expected.
Just Purchased 2007 MX-5 PRHT
Excellent in every way. Comfortable, quick and fun to drive. Beautiful Car!
Can you say Zoom Zoom? I can
Can you say Zoom Zoom? And I did not have to break the bank to get into one. I forgot how to drive being stuck inside a minivan for for years. Gave up my Trans Am for family. Well now I have a toy to play with. It just flat out goes. I was never one for the "chick" car and the pictures on the net do not do it any justice. Go to a dealership and look at one yourself. ZOOM ZOOM. Need to purchase a fuzz buster for it.
Darn near perfect.
Went from a 1991 Miata to this. BIG upgrade. A tiny bit more sterile than the jittery, vibrating 1991, but better in every way. Enough power, extremely well balanced yet controlled. Turns commutes into an enjoyable experience.
Pure Fun
This car is pure fun. Most bang for the buck. With the suspension package, traction control, and stability control cornering is superb and virtually no nose dive when braking. Ride is suprisingly smooth for such a short wheelbase and suspension package. The MX5 fits like a glove and everything is in its proper place except for the cup holders in the console which I have found to be a good place to stash gasoline receipts. The Copper Red Mica with tan leather has drawn nothing but compliments. Gas mileage is impressive returning 30 mpg in the first 600 miles of which only 200 has been highway driving. The convertible top is a marvel, just unlatch it and heave it over your shoulder.
Look What I've Been Missing.......
....all these years! Call it the "old" man's last hoorah - call it anything but call it fun! I got the marble white "Sport" convertible with extras. Takes a second or two for an elderly man to climb in with the top up but once in, he doesn't want to get out. The madam loves it too and calls it "Peanut." Never have I seen such a responsive engine for it's size and turning is a breeze - almost like a zero turn mower. Like others, I'd like a little storage where the console cup holders are and the two in the door either relocated. Guys, it's a shame I can't respond properly (age) to the viewing public who "lak dat car." I look to get the wife out of her big Buick into a red one real soon.
More zoom
Very nice roadster for the money. All the Miata driving traits carried to the next level, worthy successor to my '95 Miata. Superior handling, braking, manual shifting, cornering etc. But. I think Mazda blew some of these details: exterior styling rear end. Boring. Needs the spoiler just to get going. Front styling. The round hood shape is odd and visually distracting. Interior. Console cup holders are useless, should be storage with gas and trunk releases. Interior. No map pockets. Huh? Gas door release. Torturous location. Exterior colors. The cloth top is an ugly color. All of the body colors except black need to be richer, see Porsche. Side styling lacks character.
Excellent Roadster!
I love everything about my car. It's fun to drive and handles awesome. A great roadster for the price!
Winner!
I bought this car after having owned 3 Corvettes and 3 BMWs. It is more fun to drive than any of them. Not the power of the M3, but it does ok and the handling is superb. Ride comfort is just right for me. Not too hard like an M3 and not soft enough to screw up the handling. Mazda got it just right. A really fun car to drive with just the right touches in terms of features. Our options included sport suspension with 17" wheels and satellite radio. I would have ordered the premium package but instead bought this one off the showroom floor. The power hardtop is brilliant. Take heart guys, my wife loves to drive this car!
A real treat
Great enjoyable handling, dependable, economical to buy and own. Handsome

Most reliable and fun car I have ever had.
I bought this car to commute in, wanted a fun car as well. I have had it 12 years with only brakes tires and finally last year coilovers. The coilovers (MeisteR ZetaCRD) gave it a firmer ride, closer to my 2000 S2000 but with slightly more compliance. My S2000 was still much faster, but the Miata does well with a close ratio 6 speed.

Most bang for the buck!
I’ve now had my 2007 PHRT for over 5 years . It aways puts a smile on my face when driving .It’s a 6 speed manual and my wife loves to drive it.(My kind of woman) This car really puts you in touch with the road! This car hugs curves like no other car I have driven( except a 2019 C7 Grand Sport) .This car was truly made for fun! It’s very reliable and upkeep with regular maintenance is minimal.

Zero Regrets!
Bought my used 2007 Grand Touring Miata almost a year ago. The manual transmission is amazing and I am so happy I bought this as a second “fun” car for myself. No complaints, power hard top is impressive, details and styling are amazing.

Love This Miata
I get stopped all the time by people who want to buy my 2007 Miata and it’s only in fair shape. I’ve run it into the ground and it remains beautiful and reliable. Such fun - a joy to drive. It’s snug, and low so that’s something to consider, but cubby hole hiding spaces for snacks or overnight bag behind the seat. Remarkably, the trunk can fit 6-7 grocery bags. It’s doesn’t get more exciting than this Miata!

Great First Car!
Super fun first car, great for a car enthusiast. If you can, go for the NC2, because it looks alot better! Super fun to drive! Really easy to work on too! I have a full bodykit on mine, custom paint job, and full audio system. If you want to upgrade to bluetooth, go to crutchfield because they have a part that upgrades the radio to a double or single din. For engine swaps the 5.3 fits in it (surprisingly) and the 2.5 liter from the Mazda 6 also works. The one thing that sucks with this car though is there is barely any aftermarket parts for it, so you will have to custom make aftermarket bodykits and stuff like that. But other than that amazing car. I’ve had no problems whatsoever and the seats fit me nicely.

I love my car but
After several years of owning it the hard top won't retract. I think it's an electrical problem and I will be taking it in but wondered if anyone here had the same experience. I pop open the dealie between the shades, put it in neutral and push the button. It just beeps at me. Nothing happens.

After 1 year still lovin' it...
We have been driving the MX5 PRHT for almost a year now and still love the experience. The only reason I get to drive is because my wife loves to be chauffered. The car is a real show stopper, everywhere we go someone is turning their head to see that car go by. As small as it looks any 6' person should be able to fit and get in and out comfortably. One complaint, I can't drive the car without breaking the law, it always wants more Zoom- zoom.
Driving me wild!
Just bought my Silver MX5 this past weekend. Have put about 300 miles on her so far. 3 words, LOVE LOVE & LOVE. Great handling, awesome appearance, and I am pretty amazed that my insurance is so inexpensive. It is a driver's dream. If a person enjoys being behind the whee this is the car for you. I have owned high-end European imports and for the money, this is a much bigger bang for the buck. The new styling that was introduced last year is a nice improvement. Truly this is the 2 seater that sets the standard. Great job, Mazda...very nicely done!
Awesome Fun Car!
This is an awesome fun sports car for the enthusiast or the first timer like my girl friend who learned to drive this sporty short-throw 6 speed in about 1/2 an hour. The heated leather seats in the GT model are unbelievable! Top down, windows up, heater on and a sunny day is ALL you need for Fun Fun Fun or should I say Zoom Zoom Zoom. I can now see why this is the world's most popular selling sports car convertible!
