Original Owner, NO PROBLEMS
ok, I only have 25,000 miles BUT no problems. Seems it eats summer tires, not tread but somehow messes up the belts. Done it to a set of Pirellis and Bridgestones, plenty of tread left, now going for the General's. Winter tires? no problems. I think the cars G Ability is too high for the tires. Don't know about others but mine is built like a tank. Mazda truly makes durable sporty cars. And considering how rare, with so much technology, Speed6 should maintainable for a long time.
I love this car!
This has been the most rewarding new car purchase I've ever made. Whets my appetite for getting out my track car. Performance exceeds expectations, fuel economy exceeds expectations, build quality exceeds expectations. Steering is a tad heavy, but that's to be expected with a car this heavy. This is a competitor to the Audi S4 for $20,000 less. The only shortcomings are the undersized turbo and clutch. The engine falls on its face at 5500 RPM, despite 1200 more revs until fuel shutoff. A larger turbo would alleviate this.

Brilliant MPS
Love this car...put RX8 alloys so it looks like a factory special...so simple to clean the wheels after those too fussy original equipment 18s. The car is a little heavy in gearbox use but all is forgiven when you flex the right ankle and feel that response. The figures for in-gear acceleration make it quicker than a Boxster S through the gears...love that torque. A rocket and with the wider wheels better looking and better handling. A great package. My friend has a late model S4 Audi...the MPS is just as fast at half the price.
Great car, bad gas mileage
First off, I didn't do much research, so shame on me. I got such a good deal, my mind went blank. Now is the time to buy one. Great family car, we have a Mazda6 wagon and love it. This is the dad's fast car. Great looks, solid clutch, AWD, and strong power. However, be prepared for premium fuel (expected) and what I consider poor fuel mileage. My first two tanks driving like a grandma only netted me 21-22mpg. The sticker does say 19-25, so they didn't lie. The cloth seats are very adjustable, I recommend stepping to the GT for that reason alone, but hey, you get what you can afford.
Forget the EVO and STI, get a Mazdaspeed
This car is a blast to drive. It yearns to be driven fast and handles like a dream. The interior is well designed and standard features make the Sport model well appointed. The pros of this vehicle are the power, handling, styling, lots of standard options, reliability, and practicality. It has a few minor drawbacks that keep it from being nearly perfect. One is the clutch-it is simply tough to adjust to it. It's a bit touchy and even though nearly every vehicle I've ever owned was a standard, I still managed to stall it quite a few times the first few weeks of ownership. The stereo is quite weak for a Bose system. It has a subwoofer that lacks any real punch. Finally, the smallish gas tank!
