Pleasant Surprise
Only have 500 miles on the vehicle but am really happy with it so far. Over 23 MPG on the first tank of gas. Goes from 60 to 80 in a hurry when on the freeway. Stock stereo is sufficient for most needs and standard features are more than found on most vehicles.
Mazda owner
My Mazda at first take off, feels like I'm riding over rocks in the road. I've always liked the body of the Mazda cx-7, but the interior isn't as roomy as I'd like and I also wanted the interior to be cloth, but not the kind that if drop something on it it would be difficult to clean. The gas mileage I was hoping it would be better than 19 in town. The handling of the car around curve is very stiff and feels very dangerous to me and driving in the rain is very dangerous to me as well, it doesn't handle on the road very well in the rain.

Fun Mom Car
I have two kids, and don't want a minivan. This is a zippy fun auto, with enough space for my groceries. Really enjoy it so far!
Hate this Car
Bought this car in 8/07. Hated it since the 2nd week of ownership! (I traded it last month.) This car is over-priced, cheap looking, hard to see out of, poor gas mileage, premium gas. I bit the bullet, worked out a good trade and kissed it good-bye! Never been so glad to get rid of a car!
Best of both worlds
We purchased our CX-7 in January of 2007 and so far are very pleased with it. The engine is surprisingly powerful for a 4-cyl, and the turbo lag isn't as noticeable as some reviews led me to believe it would be. (Granted, I've never owned a turbo before, but compared to an '02 VW Jetta 1.8T I test drove once, this turbo lag is nothing!) I love the feel of the car - it's much more nimble than one might expect. Gas mileage, as everyone else mentions, could and probably should be better. (So far we're averaging around 20mpg with a decent amount of stop-and-go highway driving.) There are a few annoyances that I'm sure will be worked out in the '08, but overall I'd say it's a winner.
