The CX-50 has been a great ride. It's back doors open very wide for easy access and the 'gettyup and go' is amazing with the 2.5 Turbo Engine that comes standard in it! I'm loving my car!

Wish I could have test driven it for a week.

My wife and son have the CX-5 and a I have the CX-50. Coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee they promoted it as an off-road vehicle. Although the CX-50 has three more inch clearance from the ground than the CX-5 the seats is three inches lower than the CX-5. This is something I did not realize until AFTER I purchased the CX-50 and started using it every day. I purchased the top tier package just below the turbo, so it has all the bells and whistles. The CX-50 does have more cargo space than the CX-5 with the back seats up. This is helpful as we are beach lovers, and I can fit all our beach gear in the CX-50. I cannot do it in the CX-5 without putting the back seats down. Even though the car is 3 inches higher than the CX-5 we feel that we sit lower in the CX-50 because the seats are lower. I miss the height of the Jeep. Both have great gas mileage so that is not an issue. The CX-5 does feel like a better made car than the CX-50. My purchase was done in haste as my Jeep, which I loved died and I needed a new car quick. I like the quality and the longevity of the Mazda so that is why I went back. If I had to do it all over again, I would have looked into another CX-5 or a Nissan Rough. After the fact I realized I could have gotten the Platinum package of the Nissan Rough for what I paid for the CX-50. Can't wait for the loan to be over so I can possibly start looking for a new vehicle. I'm not one to get new cars. My Jeep had 180K and the caravan before that had over 225K. I'll be looking to get rid of this asap when the loan ends.

There are many small problems

The car has been bought for almost two years and has run 30,000 kilometers. On the third day of the first week after purchase, I found strange noises from the B-pillars on both sides. More than a year later, there were also strange noises near the dashboard. The steering wheel was easily worn as if it had been driven for many years. The quality is average, the power is good, but the quietness is not very good.
