Decent but could be better
The CX 50 is a nice car, however, it is lacking what Mazda is trying to portray as a premium product. There’s very little pocket storage anywhere in the vehicle. The B pillar is set forward too far and you hit it every time you get in the vehicle the recessed window wipers are a nice touch for a streamlined look however, they are a catchall for everything. The sunroof is horrible. There is so much road noise that you cannot drive with it open. What was the point? The transmission shift points could also use some work when taking a steep grade, the car hesitates to downshift to the proper gear. It’s definitely a sharp looking car but my old 2011 CX seven was better in my opinion for the price. Also, the climate control buttons are in an odd spot. You can’t tell when the AC is on or off because you can’t see the button illuminated. Why does it not come up on the digital screen like other models? The car came with eliminated sill plates that were an additional $500 add-on. The front ones illuminate but the rear ones don’t, so what’s the point?

not comfortable ride
I test drove the vehicle. I wasn't sure why this vehicle is on #1 list on car review websites. It has some quirks PRO: Good steering response, feel a bit sporty but not as good as BMW or AUDI. Nice interior. CON: somehow the brake is not precise it keeps slide forward when I hold the brake down then stop. The 20" tire can feel every bump on the road makes me feel like I am driving mini cooper also as advertise for off road capability with 20" tires I have the feeling that driving over sharp rock will easily punch the hole in the tire. The seat is really stiff, the one I drove is leather, I wasn't sure over time it will be stretch and soften or not but as the time of test drive my booty hurts. It sits like car maybe that's the tradeoff for gaining ground clearance comparing to CX5. I didn't buy the car as I didn't feel comfortable driving it.

Love it in every way
Excellent modern exterior and interior design, Huge trunk space I purchased Honda Civic, Lexus RC300, and Audi S5. Among these cars, Mazda CX-50 is my favorite

Worst designed key fob in the auto industry!
The buttons on the side of the cheap plastic key fob will always press themselves when they touch anything in your pockets or your purse. I've been robbed 4x in the past year. Dozens of time's I've gone to my car during the winter to find the lift gate open and it's ice cold inside. Same thing happened in the summer which meant plenty of bugs. Don't reverse to park in a parking garage in this vehicle because the lift gate will open and get stuck to the concrete, damaging it every time you park in a garage. They took a decent vehicle and made it the worst vehicle I've ever been in because they don't know how to design a simple key fob. The center console that opens is also very cheaply made and doesn't function very well. Stay away unless you have an enormous property and you have a very long and tall garage where this won't matter to you (except when you leave of course).

Not even close to comfortable.
Harsh ride and heavy steering. How is this intended for off-road use? This is one of the least comfortable cars I've ever driven. CX-5 is far from comfortable, and this is worse.
