I love this vehicle

I traded a 2019 rav4 for the new cx50. I loved how the rav looks but it was boring to drive and slow. I could never get comfortable in the seat. The cx50 is so much more fun, and I love the seat. I got the proffered plus to get the smaller black rims and avoid the piano black in the upper trim interiors. It’s quick, handles like a sports car more than an SUV, and I love the look of it. I wish Mazda made black emblems for this vehicle, but hopefully in time someone will. It’s a solid vehicle, the app is easy to use, and most importantly, it’s fun to drive which is missing in so many vehicles these days.

Love our CX-50

This is our first Mazda, and so far we are very impressed. The CX-50 checks off all the boxes for what we wanted. My wife wanted a car that was a little higher up and fun to drive. We love the styling, classy look, and the high-end feel to it. All the reviews say to buy the turbo, however we feel the base engine provides plenty of power. The information screen is not touch screen which would be nice, you control it with knobs which takes a while to figure out. That's rather minor though, overall we are very pleased.

Rough Ride and Issues with Rear Differential

James , 05/27/2024

I was very disappointed in the Mazda CX-50 crossover. I had the 2.5S preferred plus trim. After owning a Mazda 3 and driving the CX-5, the CX-50 was just not the same. There were issues with the rear differential making noises, which was fixed once, but only to return in 3 months. I saw similar posts in other reviews about this issue. I also thought the vehicle was rough to drive, feeling every bump it seemed. Although the vehicle had standard 17 inch tires, it was still rough. The steering also felt difficult, to make those simple parking lot manuevers was a task. Also, the inside of the vehicle had blind spots from the window framing and air bags structures I suppose, making visibility difficult. Honestly, it was like driving a truck, much more than I expected. There were little things also, like the outside mirror control (no knob), the A/C button in which I could not see the indicator, and the cup holders too far up, and poor gas mileage (AVF 25 MPG) There could have been an instrument display that combined the digital MPH and full gauge, rather than switching displays. I also had a wheel balance and front end alignment adjustment necessary. Too many things about the vehicle that I did not like.

Great SUV

This is my first SUV, after driving cars my whole life. I wanted something sporty and not too big. The Turbo power is great and I have plenty of room for myself. I love the looks and all the features my Premium Plus has. The seats are comfortable and I really like the wireless CarPlay. And it handles amazingly. That being said, I do agree with most reviews that the ride is a little bumpy. And the gas mileage isn’t great…I’m averaging about 22mpg on my commute. The only other wishlist item would be a full digital gauge display. The current one isn’t very customizable. But, overall, very happy with my choice!

I like the armrest better on this vehicle, than the CX 5. The reviews seem pretty good, so I test drove it. WHY IS THERE NO MENTION OF THE HORRIBLE DRIVER’S SEAT? It is like the 500 pound gorilla in the room. Talk about uncomfortable! The seats on the CX-50 ARE NOT THE SAME as the CX5! I sat in about five different ones, thinking there must be a mistake. The seat is extraordinarily thin and uncomfortable, and some even have a bump, right on your butt. This is not a secret. The sales people even acknowledge it. Long distance rides must be a horror show.
