A lot of potential with some major flaws

I have 2020 Touring, Soul Red. Beautiful car. Interior is well done with materials that could easily belong to car that is twice as expensive. Ride is smooth and quiet. Front and back seats are comfortable. It has tons of security features. Apple CarPlay is awesome. I had many Zoom calls while on cruise control. I love it. Infotainment controller in the center console is actually easy to use. I find it comfortable and responsive with big buttons. I actually prefer it over the touch screen. Gas mileage is so-so. I average little bit above 32 mpg. Now list of the flaws…. Designers went overboard and placed AC vents deep into the dashboard so probably 30-40% of air coming out of the vent is blocked by the dashboard design. If you live in hot area I would seriously reconsider this car. I am 6’0 and I feel like I don’t have any head room to spare. I can touch sun visor with my head if I lean forward. Rear view camera has extremely low resolution. It is hard to see at night and it is almost worthless in the rain. Car has limited interior storage space that is very hard to clean. If you have family with children this is definitely not a car for you. Cup holders are big enough for coffee cup or small water bottle from the store. My 12 years old Sonata was better car for the family. Infotainment system takes really long time to start. Radio is hidden and complicated. Navigation system is beyond outdated and complicated. And on top of everything, you cannot even enter destination while car is in motion. I guess Mazda is expecting you to get off the highway, enter new destination and then get back on the highway…. Really stupid limitation. Rear seats are really easy to lower but they cannot be lowered from the inside, only from the outside. Overall, car looks great, drives nicely and is a decent option for single individual or for couple. If you have children I would consider something else.

Great car! 2 terrible issues!

I have a 2020 Mazda6 Signature and really enjoy the turbo engine. It makes a nice whine under boost and the 6-spd auto trans works well with the engine. I average just shy of 30mpg in combined driving, which is fantastic! If Mazda had put an 8-spd trans in this car, it likely would be closer to 32mpg avg. The cabin wrapped in Parchment leather is GORGEOUS and nicely put together. I find the seats soft and comfortable with good range of adjustment, although I wish the thigh and side bolsters were a little more sporty. In the rear, the seat is spacious, although this Signature trim lacks the rear or side sunshades I expected to find. The Bose sound system is ok but not great; you really have to crank it up to hear it and there is no mid- adjustment...just lots of bass. 2 things I hate about the car: 1) The mirrors are not tied into the memory settings!! Why Mazda? Why? We had a 2017 CX-9 previously and had the same issue--I thought by 2020 Mazda would have corrected this! 2) You can't read the tire pressures from the instrument cluster! What engineer missed this one? Every car I've had in the last 10 years has put a readout in the instrument cluster menu. Pain in the butt. The car is a joy to drive and a gem to look at (especially in Soul Red Crystal). I would definitely recommend it if you can get past the minor inconveniences I mentioned.

Car meets my basic requirements. Remote starter with smartphone access and monitoring should be a built in feature. Forward camera quality doesn’t meet 2020 technology. I suggest few point for Mazda to consider for 2022 model. (1) Rear external design could be improved to shape like Hyundai Sonata and rear lights could be made more beautiful. Interior Back seat air conditioning vent shape looks like an old fashion, design could be improved by using a combination of some sort of metallic touch, just like there is some metallic touch is there on the dashboard Gadget charger unit is only available from inside the arm rest box, there must an option from to plug the cord inside the mobile phone box in front of gear unit. There must be a wireless mobile phone slot available. Blind spot could be improved by using cameras trigger with indicator.
