Awesome Mazda6 GT

2014 Mazda 6 i Grand Touring 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

I owned the Mazda 6 Grand Touring sedan for 5 great years. The car had zero problems except a couple minor recalls. Only went to dealer for routine maintenance. Although a bit noisy on the road, the 2.5 skyactiv drivetrain worked great. Averaged low 40s for gas mileage on highway. Leather interior was of high quality. Car handled well. Only issue was replacing the 19 inch tires which were a little expensive. Would recommend to anyone looking for a bulletproof sedan that is fun to drive.

I love car shopping, so when the lease on my 2010 Mazda6 Touring was up, I made the rounds to midsize dealers. The Mazda/Kia/Nissan dealer offered me a better deal on a beautiful, well-equipped Kia Optima, easily the best-looking sedan this side of a Jaguar XE. So I drove it, but when I got to the corners, I noticed the Optima's handling was worse than my 2010 6. I paid a bit more for a soul red Mazda6 with the sand leatherette interior, and I agree with the car magazine editors who love its driving characteristics. With the optional tech package (a must) one gets the Bose stereo, navigation, blind spot monitoring, bluetooth, back-up camera, etc.). No issues after 20 months. Update after 32 months: Stellar fuel mileage (36 highway with 80mph speed limit). Comfortable seats. Exceptional handling. Nice automatic transmission (no CVT for Mazda), but I miss the V6. Road noise a bit of an issue, but no worse than the Accord. Bose stereo merely adequate. I doubt I would lease a newer one, since I want a car with a smooth V6. (No, Mazda, putting the turbo 4 from the CX-9 into a 2017 6 is not going to entice me). Furthermore, I dislike the new (since 2015) interior design with tacked-on infotainment screen. I only hope I can find a car that I enjoy driving as much as this Mazda6. If only I could afford to lease a Jaguar XE.

Nothing really new to report at 6 years of ownership. I do really like the car. I put the 3rd set of front brakes on recently. Same for the back. I have almost 80,000 on the car. After 9 years not much has changed. I still have i-pod connectivity issues. The car is on it's 5th Bluetooth module, all replaced under warranty. The seats are still uncomfortable for me, the side bolsters hit me in the shoulder blades at an usual angle and cause pain, but inflating the lumbar support to its fullest setting alleviates most of the pain. It is noisy, too. There is little to no insulation in the doors. Keeping weight down improves MPG, as well as providing the "Zoom-Zoom" sound of the car. I could do without the noise. I recently had a decision to make, to keep it, or trade it in on something else. I love cars and am always looking for affordable ones. The Fusion, Malibu, Accord, Camry, Altima... all it's competitors were on my radar. But none combined the looks, MPG, interior design (sans lousy Bluetooth, and seats) of the 6, It is a good car for the money. I don't love it, I want to, but I don't. It's a solid car, just not perfect for me. My old G-8 was closer to perfect, but lousy mileage, and needed snow tires for my Northern location. Mileage recently is dipping from around 30 MPG to about 27 MPG. Not sure why. After 9 years living in the snow belt, there appears to be some rust starting.

Road trip

Finally took the 6 out on the road driving from Texas to Florida and back for a visit. This is an excellent road car. We debated taking the 6 or our newer 3, but decided on the bigger engine and longer wheelbase to be more comfortable at highway speeds--good idea. While there are many comments about wind noise, it didn't seem any more noticeable at 65-75 mph than it was at 45-50. That might be damning with faint praise, but noise wasn't an issue on the trip, didn't lead to any fatigue, and didn't interfere with normal conversation or listening to the audio system. The 6 was a delight to drive on the highway--stable and with enough power to keep up and accelerate away if need be. We weren't trying to set mpg records, but we did better than expected, getting 34.9 over a couple thousand miles along I-10 each way and in Fort Walton. The ride was comfortable, there is plenty of storage, and enough power sources to keep the phones charged and playing. The tires and wipers handled some moderate rain for a couple hours in Louisiana, but it proved to be no problem other than slowing us down a bit. Bottom line is that we are very happy with the car, and would certainly buy it again (albeit without the faux leather seats that in my opinion don't make much sense in South Texas).

Mazda what a pleasant surprise!

I have owned in the past Lexus, BMW, Toyota Honda and Nissan and this Mazda surprised me in so many ways the others did not. The biggest was the fuel economy which is great for the size of this sedan, on average about 34 mpg. Next, is the power that the 4 cylinder provides is exceptional. The biggest surprise of all is how great the air conditioning works in this car especially since I often travel to Arizona several times a year. Everyone who travels with me always says can you turn down the air temperature it's cold in here when I run the air conditioner. The only thing that I find needs improvement is the road noise which may have a little to do with the 19" tires on it.

For the same price as a boring old camry, you can have the Mazda6, an extremely good looking, road-hugging, fuel sipping beast of a car. It looks like an infiniti with more character, it drives like a low and light bimmer, and costs half of either. While not perfect on the inside (the seats leave me a little sore; maybe it's just cause I'm 6'4") it's definitely a no brainer to get.

Purchased my 2014 Mazda6 Grand Touring as a CPO car with 2.5k miles (and six months on the clock) about five years ago and it is still looking and driving great. Like any car, it's not perfect but better than any other car I've ever owned. Consistently getting 36 mpg on the highway / 30-32 mpg combined and can get as high as 40 mpg if I do the speed limit on the highway. ;>) Having stated that, I take incredible care of all my automobiles which is a personal passion that pays dividends when I sell the car. The Soul Red exterior color, combined with the parchment leather interior is a winner. I get compliments on the looks all the time. You never get tired of looking at the Soul Red paint! The car drives well with an occasional shimmy due to front warped rotors (seems like an issue on these consumer reviews). The engine and transmission have been sublime and the suspension is perfect for this type of car (my 'other' car is a 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata so I know what a sports car should drive like). The 19" wheels with the 'hyper' finish are beautiful but the low profile tires do not protect the rims from curbs very well which is not a specific issue with this car. I'm starting on my third set of tires; Michelin Pilot Sport All Season (A/S) 3 Plus. These are the best tires I've had on the vehicle thus far; they changed the handling dynamics for the better. For the money, Mazda seems to have figured out how to make cars that are fun to drive, economical to keep and beautiful to look at. A triple threat! Highly recommend this car over the usual suspect competitors from Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Ford, etc. which are all great cars but not as good as Mazda, IMHO.

Bought my 2014 Mazda 6 Touring (with tech package) one year ago. It had 17K miles and I have about 34K now. I chose the 6 over a 2012-2013 Maxima, 2012 Acura TL, and 2011/2012 Infiniti G37. While those other cars might give a little more in acceleration, the cost for premium gas and lower gas mileage was one main reason I chose the Mazda. I have been getting about 28mpg (40% hywy/60% city) and even though gas is pretty cheap now, I like that I can save a little by not paying for premium gas. I did drive all the other cars I was considering, and the only big difference was the acceleration from the G37. That car was wicked fast and tempting, but at my price point, the Mazda allowed me to get a newer car with way more miles left on the comprehensive and powertrain warranty. The G37 also had very little rear seat room--I couldn't even fit my feet under the front seat (when sitting in the back) because the motor for the power front seat leaves no room. The back seat of the Mazda 6 is better than any of the other options I considered. The Mazda will probably save me $ on the speeding tickets I would have gotten in a G37 as well. Ultimately, the Mazda was my practical choice. It doesn't have the power or prestige of the other cars I considered, but it handles really well, accelerates fast enough, has a great interior--feels like a luxury car to me--and has enough features to satisfy a driver coming from a 2006 Mazda three with no power features. Other thoughts: Like most say, the infotainment center is underwhelming and the Tom-Tom navigation is not user friendly. The upgraded Bose sound system is not as good as what I would expect from Bose, so it is not worth paying a lot for. You could probably do better just upgrading the speakers of the base stereo. Road noise is louder than luxury brand cars, but not a big deal for me. The control knob by the armrest is awesome, but why they did not include a volume control there is beyond me. I think they may have added one on 2015s. This is my second Mazda and I would definitely consider myself loyal to their brand now. I never had problems with my 2006 Mazda 3. If you get a 6 with the bigger rims, tires are really expensive--like $800 for four after installation. I didn't see that coming and even though the 19" look nice, I would gladly trade down to the 17" rims. I am 6'1" and the driver seat gives me good leg room while still leaving enough room behind me for my kids. Update: Feb. 2017 I have had the car for two years now and everything I mentioned above still holds true. At 48k miles and my gas mileage is down a little to 27mpg, but I don't do as much highway driving now. I did have a weird issue with the tire pressure light. It would not reset even after I had the tires properly inflated. The service advisor at the dealership wanted to charge me $130 to run a diagnostic and then at least another $60 to fix the issue (if it could be fixed in under 30 min.). I told him no thanks, did some research myself, and found that it was a scheduled maintenance notification that I could turn off myself from the info/control panel on the dashboard. So either the service advisor was stupid and incompetent for not knowing that this was potentially the issue, or he was dishonest and trying to take advantage and get his own numbers up. This is why dealerships have such bad reputations. I only went there to begin with in hopes that it might be covered under a former recall on the tire pressure monitor system. Anyway, my 6 is still a great car. Just bought a used 2012 CX-9 Grand Touring too; another good Mazda vehicle.

We have large active teen boys. I needed something comfortable yet fuel efficient. This vehical has suited all our family needs. The LARGE trunk spaces is amazing for all their practice gear and we even take the car camping over the truck. Kids are very comfortable in the back and vehicle is super easy to clean and keep smelling fresh. Car gets great gas mileage so its perfect for long or short trips. Its looks nice and sporty so I feel like the "cool football Mom". Only complaints are when starting the car it is loud. My understanding "its a Mazda thing." Second and last the Bluetooth goes out. Dealership says thats a Mazda thing too. When it fails we have to unplug the battery to reset the vehical. Works fine for months after. I wish Mazda would make that right.

Some things that weren't a problem at the start have become demerits. A number of these pertain to this first-year version of this particular Mazda. The nav got better 2 years later, don't know if the voice control did. - Voice control for phone calls clunky and slow, wastes time. - Mileage is always good on highways. This car is most driven around a small city with lots of stop and go, and mileage substantially below EPA estimates here - though this may be true with all competitors too - I don't know. It looks like 22 mpg in town in colder months, closer to 24 mpg in town during spring and summer, here in the midwest. - Some small missing things do grate after several years: 1) no lock on glovebox, 2) storage lack in front, and 3) power buttons on doors didn't light at night on this 1st year model, though I think they did 2015 on. Small but annoying. - This car had 1st year model annoyances - rear window rattle in cold winter (fixed under warranty), and 2 recalls. Otherwise it has been reliable. - There is a visibility issue that emerged over time: front pillar is very wide and, in a town with stop and go and many pedestrians, real care needs to be taken with the blind spot it can create on left turns - Needed more color variety in interior, this was greatly improved in the 2016 one with complete dash makeover, but I wish it had been done for the '14 -OEM tires on this car very poor, and wore poorly - Mazda could have sold 5k more of these cars per year ditching these atrocious Dunlops Beloved features of the car: 1) great seats, 2) great looks, 3) fit and finish still excellent, no rattles, interior materials wear very well, 4) rear cross traffic alert - would never want another car without this, 5) ergonomics, and 6) solidity of car, sense that the original build of this car in Japan was superb; feels like it will run well a very long time.

When you've got to stir your own gears, your choices are limited these days. It seems like you can do it if you opt for a stripped down small car, or a tricked-out european performance sedan. In the mid-level market there is pretty much Mazda and Subaru. Good luck actually finding a stick in America for any other brand. Since I have kids in car seats, rear seat room was an issue. Car seats are ridiculously huge these days. So I had to go a little bit bigger but I didn't want a large SUV. They just aren't fun to drive. I loved my old Subaru Forester, but unfortunately Subaru killed the driving feel in their effort to mass-market and Camry-ize the new Forester and Outback.

We looked at Accord,Altima,Fusion,Optima,Malibu, and others. Then I heard about the new Skyactiv Mazda 6 from a friend.Test drove our Soul Red sport and bought it on the spot.My friends think I spent big bucks as the car looks very expensive. For a base model the list of standard features is impressive.Leanst the steering stops.t agaither steering wheel, shift knob and e-brake handle are nice touches.I also liked the 1000 dollar owner loyalty rebate. This car as all 2014 Mazda 6's is built in Japan. Not too many cars are made there anymore due to the higher cost of production and shipping. The build quality is excellent.

in the midsize sedan segment, this car is the absolute BEST bang for your buck. I purchased the mazda 6 Sedan, grand touring model, with the I-eloop feature. As far as"fun to drive," mazda is the only way to go. class leading fuel economy with 40mpg hwy and combined 32 mpg. I test drove the Altima, Accord, Sonata, optima, and Passat. Mazda6 is the most refined. interior fit and finish is class leading. styling is exceptional. I cant fathom anyone buying a Camry,(BOX). you owe it to yourself, if your in the market for a family sedan to look at the Mazda product. im glad I don't have to settle for a boring sedan. Mazda got this RIGHT, Sedan Nirvan, I Totally LOVE this Car....!!!! Update 4/2106. No regrets !! Still a fantastic car!! Best in class. Hate the Nav. The rest is spectacular. Update 9/2017. Car turned in , lease over. Would do it all over again

I purchased this car one year ago as a certified used vehicle. My husband's car died suddenly and we needed something pronto. We were looking for something with a stick shift that was relatively fun and this was one of the few cars available at the time in our price range. Let me just say that after one morning of driving the car, my husband asked if he could trade and drive my 2015 VW Golf instead. The Mazda6 is a sharp looking car and the value seems to be pretty good on the surface. That being said, we aren't happy with the car and I won't purchase another. The car is very load on the road and I had to talk the dealership into looking up the technical service bulletin about it (I'm waiting for the parts to come in). The Bluetooth stops working every few months (I unhook the battery to get it going again) and routinely pauses in the middle of songs or phone calls. I realize that's minor but if a car is fairly new, you want it to work. The Bluetooth module was replaced under warranty but the behavior is exactly the same so it didn't go any good. I also find the ride to be very rough. I needed new breaks and tires at 33k miles and thought the tire replacement would make the ride better. Not so! It's actually worse. It's decent around town but super rough on the highway. I've had a VW GTI, a Ford Focus SVT and a Mini Cooper S so it's not that I don't like a rough ride. I guess I don't like a rough ride in a big family sedan. The combo just doesn't make sense to me. I also feel like the sheetmetal is cheap; it seems to dent easily or that's been my experience, at least. The car does handle very well and the brakes are good. I also appreciate the blind spot monitoring. Part of my dislike of the car is personal preference - I really don't like big cars or sedans. I'm already looking at other options, either hatchbacks, crossovers (yuck) or wagons. I've gotten to the point in my like (early 40s) where some fun and some equipment without a punishing ride is what I'm looking for. Manual transmissions are getting rare and many manuals don't come with equipment. I might have to go to an automatic for the first time in my life or just get a base model Golf wagon or pony up for a GTI with bells and whistles (I've not experienced the VW nightmares that others have and I've had a series of VWs). I test drove a Ford Focus with a stick and a Ford Escape and liked both much more than the Mazda. Full disclosure - I do recommend this car to others but it's just not the right one for me or my husband. Updated - we got rid of this car after less than 2 years. Just wasn’t for us - I feel like it’s trying to be too many things and the quality wasn’t there.

I drove an Acura TSX for 10 years and 175k miles and it was hard to let go. I researched for a year and narrowed down to 4 cars: Mazda6 GT, Honda Accord EX-L 4-cyl, Audi A4, and BMW 328. I quickly deleted the German cars because I didn't want to pay for premium fuel. Nothing wrong with the Honda, just a boring drive, but great features. When I sat in the 6, I knew I was home, great overall experience with all the creature comforts and Great MPG's.

I found the seats very hard and the front seat positions limited. When on medium to long drives I would get out of the car limping. The GPS never worked properly, but even if it had I found it difficult to use and read. The mileage well below the manufacturer's rating. The car is also a little under powered. The electronics all seemed a little off. The speaker in the door vibrated and made it uncomfortable to listen when driving. The base car is probably very good value. I wrote to Mazda and didn't get a response. I finally just dumped the car after about 8 months of driving with a big loss.

Avoid buying this car. I bought a 2014 Mazda 6 with 35,000 miles. I had to take it back to the dealer four times within the first two months of having it. Twice it broke down on me and I had to get it towed. The transmission had to be replaced. The rear camera was not working. When I was driving on the highway a piece of protective plastic fell down and was shredded. Now the breaks are squealing. Avoid this car at all costs. Guess they don't make Mazdas like they used to! Used to have a 626 and it was great, earned my loyalty. My loyalty to Mazda is now completely gone. Go with Honda or Toyota.

I just traded my '09 6 for an iTouring with the Technology package, in Soul Red. That red is gorgeous. This car is a very nice improvement over the 2nd generation. While it's a touch smaller on the outside, you don't notice it at all on the inside. The engine has a throatier growl to it and you can definitely feel the extra horse power from the old one. It's way too soon for me to talk MPG, as I've only put about 60 miles on the car so far. But the handling, ride comfort, and style is a very nice step up. The autobox is about the best I've ever seen, and the Bose stereo sounds a lot better then the previous version.

Follow up to the three month post. Still very happy with the car. Pleasure to drive, easy on the eyes and at the pump. Made it through a South Texas summer and would prefer cloth over leatherette seats--they get pretty warm and don't breathe. That would have meant the Sport vice Touring trim, which would have removed the COMAND knob (which I play with but don't really use). I would have been OK with that since the Sport Auto includes the backup cam, which has turned out to be really nice. The smaller wheels wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Averaging about 31.5 in mixed driving.

Have had the car for two months and 3400 miles so far and it has been great. Love the styling. Could be getting better gas mileage; if driven cautiously and try to milk the gas some, get about 30 mpg mixed driving with about 60/40 freeway, town driving. When driven more aggresively I am getting 28 mpg. That is still not bad for stepping on it quite a bit.

This car has treated me very well. I have very little to complain about. My Mazda6 Touring only cost me about 24,500 which comes with a lot of features that would have cost a LOT more with other cars (I know I did a lot of shopping when I decided on the Mazda). The blind spot monitoring is cool and has helped me avoid several traffic incidents, the backup camera works great and now I back-up into spaces like a pro (it also alerts you by beeping when cars are criss-crossing behind you). I love the radio control by the armrest, allows me to change things without reaching for the screen. I get great gas mileage consistently and the car is a blast to drive. I put a LOT of miles on this car the first couple years of owning it and have had NO problems maintenance-wise. Nothing broke down, damaged... I did have to have the brakes replaced once, but I did a lot of City driving. My only real complaint was how poorly this car dealt with snow with the original tires (and the stupid expensive tires I bought to replace)... lots of skidding and very little traction. I think this is in part because the car is so light and the few options of tires in its size. 19" looks nice, but it is expensive to replace tires. Overall this is a fantastic car. The ride is fun and sporty. It gets great gas mileage. The interior materials are wonderful; feels like luxury car without it being one. Lots of room. Very reliable and fun. Also mine is red with a spoiler, and I have had a LOT of people tell me how sharp my car looks. I highly recommend the Mazda6!

I haven't had the car a week yet but so far so good. I agree with the others that it's arguable one of the best looking cars on the road today. I also like that I'm not lumped into the "Camry and Accord" group. There simply aren't that many Mazda 6's on the road so it's nice to be a little different. I can see why they charge more for red or white. I went with white since so many of my friends have red cars. It looks great! I traded in a Corolla for this car so naturally it feels super loaded to me and it is. It's got literally everything. I've had several BMW models in the past and I like to feel the road and that's what you get with the huge 19" wheels.

I hardly write reviews. Of all the opinions I have for everything I buy (good or bad), I never voice them. This car changed that. Tested many cars in this range new and used: VW CC, 2013 Accord, Camry, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 I chose this because of the combination of looks, performance, comfort, economy and tech features that it offers. My friends were extremely skeptical about this Mazda 6. No one I know owns a Mazda (family or friends). They'd never seen the 2014 model but when I let them all take it for a test drive all their concerns and premature snarky remarks were laid to rest. They all commented on how amazing it looks (inside and out) and how smooth/quick the drive was.

I love the car's looks. I named my car "Big Red" after a former neighbor, a zaftig redhead. I love the great mileage - right now avg = 33.5, but I've done better. I got the auto trans and the rear view camera and the fog lights - all of which I am happy with.

Update to my initial review (below) - I now have 46K miles on the car and continue to feel strongly that it is the best handling and best looking vehicle in its class and the best choice for an owner who actually likes a vehicle that drives well. It is not perfect though, and things like the wind noise, absence of storage areas, the fact that only the driver's window is auto up/down, the absence of an exterior unlock button on the rear doors, among a few other minor things, are annoying but not deal breakers. The Nav and infotainment have gotten a fair amt of criticism, but once you get familiar with them, they have worked acceptably for me over the years (the inability to view my playlists on my iPhone or iPods continues to annoy though). The only real quality issue that I have had with the vehicle is with the brakes; I have already replace the front rotors and pads with high quality aftermarket items and need to so the same on the rear, as they have a clear tendency to warp, which I have been told is very common in similar vehicles now days as manufacturers cut costs and the quality of their components. Most of the time the power from the engine is fine, but there are times when a bit more power would be a benefit, especially off the line. All things considered, I have no doubt that I would purchase the same vehicle again if I needed to replace mine. After placing an order in March of '13, I got my vehicle in August and I now have 16K trouble free miles on it. After reading virtually all of the available reviews on affordable mid sized sedans and driving those that I was willing to consider (Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Hyundai and Subaru), buying a 6 was an easy decision. The car has met all of my expectations for a fun to drive sedan that gets solid gas mileage and that does not look like everything else on the road.

The Good: Not just great gas mileage, but great gas mileage that matches the computer reading if you calculate manually each tank (I would get 34 with 75/25 mix). The car also has nice handling if you happen to live on a windy road. The Bad: The car used 1 qt of oil for every 3500 miles since day 1. Winter driving is terrible. The brake rotors were warped after 25000 miles. The ride is rough and there is a lot of road noise. The blind spot visibility is poor. Front passenger seat feels crammed. The windows fog up abnormally in the winter and rear window makes a terrible crackling noise when it is really cold. Dashboard had a bad rattle. Manual Transmission is most unexciting one I have ever driven. A lastly the car is under-powered (lacks low end torque), which is the price you pay for good gas mileage I guess. **Update: Most of the road noise and bad traction in the winter is due to the shamefully bad OEM tires Mazda used on this (Yokohama). Just look on tirerack and you will see. Upgraded tires would do a lot for this car, but there are still better options out there.

The car is good - a little more sluggish than I expected, but still cute and fun. The problem is the technology package. After 4 months, I can say that I have given it my best shot, and it sucks. We have another car with similar features and this one is so sub-par. The touch-screen is so painfully slow, the features are clunky, entering in an address is horrible, and you can only do it while stopped - even if you are the passenger, so plan ahead! The voice control is totally useless. The Sirius radio loses the signal if you drive under a thick tree. And the phone bluetooth hook up keeps crapping out. If the technology package is important to you - look elsewhere.

Since January, I've done a lot research for my next new car. I've shifted my chosen car a few times, but finally locked down to Mazda6. To me, I want a car with character and fun to drive factor. It's pretty easy decision for me to cross out Accord, Camry, or any other popular but souless car. I read every review/test drive out there on 2014 Mazda6. I got excited with all the positive tones. I bought the car last week. God, what an incredible car.

Two months after my purchase and about 1000 miles, two kids ran a red light as I entered an intersection. It was night and the Cops were right behind them. The kids were going at least 40mph. My Mazda6 struck the left side of their car. The kids spun through the intersection, took out a light pole and ended up on the lawn of a lawyer's office. Their car was demolished; they jumped out and ran. My Mazda6 coasted through the intersection. Neither I nor my passenger was hurt; air bags did not deploy. The front third of the Mazda6 was destroyed but the passenger compartment was untouched. I have a new Mazda6 on order. It is a great car.

The Mazda 3 arrived after the 6 and has had who knows how many infotainment updates, yet the 6 still hasn't had one in North America, and as a result a lot of the features run into problems (like playing songs not associated with the title displayed, dismally slow connectivity times). Mine has had transmission problems since I bought it, with many appointments and now resolution. The interior bits (especially the tilt steering adjustment) have started vibrating on even smooth roads. rear brakes clunk when releasing. Poor sound insulation. However, it handles nicely and gets pretty good fuel economy.

2014 liquid silver iTouring with auto. Replaces 2006 Cadillac CTS and 2010 Mazda3 sedan. Love it so far. Looked at 4 cars total (Camry, Altima, Sonata, and Mazda6) and for us the M6 beat out the rest, hands down. Of course, it's a personal tastes thing, but I think the M6 was top line for both exterior and interior looks. Drives great. Not quite as snappy as the old M3 6-speed was, but it is bigger and heavier with, basically, same engine. Still, it'll kick you back in the seat just fine. This is still first impression stuff since car barely has 100 miles on it, so we'll see how things are 6-months down the road. Still, don't think you could go wrong with this car.

Wow how many superlatives are there in the English dictionary? I've had some pretty nice midsized cars in recent years - '11 Optima EX, 12 Sonata 2.0 Turbo limited (nice turbo power) & even an 09 Mazda6 Touring (which like a great indie film excellent but under publicized), but great as these all were in their own respects, none evoked the level of pure joy my meteor gray 2014 6 touring w/tech package has! Looks are subjective but I literally can't stop looking at it & snapping photos haha! Ride remarkably smooth despite 19" rims & tight suspension. Cabin dead silent at idle road noise not that bad. Great acceleration close to Sonata turbo despite 90 less hp. Fantastic car!!!

Our GT is our third Mazda. We left Honda years ago for better styling and value and haven't looked back. Our liquid silver with black leather is a looker. Still after one year, people stop me all the time wanting to know what kind of car it is. People have guessed Lexus, Jag, and Infiniti. I just love the car, it is my daily driver. Still puts a smile on my face every time I open the door and push the start button. No, the navigation is not perfect, but are any of them? No the screen is not too small, I'm two feet from it. I don't need a flat screen on my dash. Radar cruise is COOL! Lots of features that many cars don't have for only $30K. What's not to like?

Everything said here is true - this is an amazing car particularly for the money. But the low engine speed throttle response concerns me. After driving for 6 months and 5,000 miles I've consistently, but randomly experienced a problem that does not seem to be fixable. About every fourth time I try to accelerate with the engine running 1000-1500 rpm, like making a turn from a light, the engine does not respond at all when I push on the accelerator. It also seems like it wants to stall. But after 2-4 seconds the car finally realizes that I want to accelerate and it springs forward. Above 2000 rpm the engine revs just fine. Like turbo lag the dealer service said. Great car, but for this.

Pros: I bought this car mainly because it has great exterior design and 6 automatic transmission. After I test drove Honda accord, I know I am not ready for CVT yet. I knew I made a right choice of buying Mazda 6. It drives amazingly well and has great handling. I give a special credit to front suspension which does the cornering without creating discomfort. Cons: Interior rattles a lot. This problem is already known for many Mazda 6 owners. If you just type the words "2014 Mazda 6 rattles" in google engine search, you will wonder if this is a new car. I just can't believe they don't catch all these rattling noises when they made prototypes. Granted, I bought Mazda not Toyota.

I wanted a five-passenger sedan that is agile, stylish, fuel efficient, equipped with the latest safety technology, and available for $30,000. After much research, I found one vehicle that meets these criteria IMO: the 2014 Mazda6 GT. The Mazda6 is widely regarded by professional and consumer reviewers as the “driver’s car” in its segment. Its good looks are perhaps rivaled by the Fusion and Optima, but personally I find the 6 more gracefully sculpted. MPG is great at 28/40. The suite of available safety features (listed below) is incredible—again, the Fusion comes close, but for more money. As for price, I paid under $29,000 after dealer discount and Mazda rebates (+ .9% financing).

I had a 2005 Mazda6 Hatchback and loved it but the 2014 takes the 6 to a whole different level. I fell in love with the exterior styling as soon as I saw it. When I had the opportunity to test drive it I was blown away, the car drives and handles wonderfully and the interior quality is second to none. I do agree that the navigation system seems a little cheap but it works and everything else is so fantastic I don't mind it at all. I read somewhere in a review "If Porsch made a car under $50,000 this would be it". I couldn't agree more and I only paid $28K for the Grand Touring Edition (it was a demo the sales manager was driving). Oh yea and the fule economy is excellent!

I love everything about my 6. The interior is very well crafted, although I do wish the console between the front seats was a padded soft touch material and the stereo surround looks like an after thought. The seats are beautiful with the perforated black leather and contrast red stitching, and are heated and supremely comfortable with nice bolstering. All of the tech features are great with every safety option available. Rear cross traffic alert is great and the back up camera making parking a cinch. The ride is very nice, even with the 19" rims, although it does get rather firm when loaded with weight. The exterior styling is nothing short of stunning. I get comments all the time on how nice looking the car is, especially in the Soul Red. Gas mileage is nothing short of remarkable. I get approximately 500 miles on a tank of gas and average 32-33 mpg in mixed driving. Also only requires regular fuel which makes it easy on my wallet at the pump. If you are considering a 6, I would recommend getting the Grand Touring trim with the tech package for the real leather interior, rather than leatherette as in the Touring, as well as all the tech features. This car is easily the best in it's class in my opinion. The driving dynamics are great and the styling and content for the dollar make it a no brainer. I love this car. UPDATE: Still love my car. It is rock solid reliable and great to drive. Still wish the stereo screen was a little bigger and not recessed with the cheap looking stereo surround, but overall it does not detract from the overall package very much. Mazda did a great job with this car and upgraded the interior in the 2016 model year which addressed the above complaint. Overall still the best mid sized family sedan on the market for the price in my humble opinion, and it's styling will age gracefully. If you are considering a Mazda 6, I would highly recommend getting one. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I’ve had my car now for a little over 16,000 miles and I love it just as much today as the day I bought it! I’m still not a fan of the stereo surround but overall this car has been fantastic and is very comfortable with a nicely put together interior. Absolutely zero issues with reliability and the gas mileage is great. I have had Audi, Acura, BMW, Volvo, VW, Honda and several other Mazdas and this is my favorite of all of them. Just a pleasure to drive. Mazda has a winning package with this car. If I were to sell this car it would be to buy a 2018 Mazda 6 with the executive trim. If you are considering buying one, do yourself a favor and do it.

This is the least reliable car. My car only made it to 140,000 miles and the transmission blew for no reason. Also the suspension broke when pulling out of a Safeway parking lot last year and I never even hit anything! Everything in this car is cheap and plastic and breaks super easily. The parts are also very poor quality.

had mine for almost seven years now, it has little over 80k miles the good : excellent gas mileage, most people don't know this, but the Mazda 6 has a two stage accelerator , first stage is for fuel efficiency and when your foot feels that it has reached the end, if you step a bit harder into second stage, the car performs great, it is not a speed racer, but it does move fast roomy, well done, decent technology, looks great, beautiful lines , it is low cost maintenance, 184 hp, decent for a light weight car the bad : yes, it is a bit noisy, other than that, no other complaints ,

Every review on here seems to be written by Mazda's PR dept. This car has a major issue. Everything about the car is excellent, except for the transmission. It is flat out terrible. Read the reviews at cars.com, this is not isolated. In their attempt to save gas, Mazda has created a transmission that will not shift down unless you floor it, and then the pedal engages some sort of performance button imbedded in the floor and the car lurches forward unsafely. Real world driving is miserable. Every down shift is met with a delay sending your body forward, and then the car lurches forward a second later. Simply awful. Test drive in traffic, around corners, change speeds...you'll see.

Owned the 2014 Mazda 6 itouring with the technology package for 3 months now. This car is amazing! It's fun to drive, very fuel efficient, and it's eye catching! I feel like I'm sitting in a luxury car that's sporty. I went on a vacation with it and averaged up to 40 mpg at 60 mph, and averaged 36 mpg at 70 mph (it was really hilly). I'm always getting compliments too. :) the navigation system is a little slow but it gets the job done. Make sure you test drive this car, you will be impressed.

The interior in the Mazda 6 is horrible. Everything falls apart. Fuse box cover doesn't stay on. Seats rip after a few years. I've had the car 7 years now and have spent more money than I spent in 15 years on my Montero sport. I'll never by another Mazda.

Not Meeting Expectations

The car has a great appearance and seemed to be a decent value, but the fuel economy has not even come close to the averages seen on the window sticker. The sticker averages were 26 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. My car is averaging 24 mpg and I drive mostly on highways. Would not recommend!
