Sedona Arizona and Sedona the Mini-Van- LOVE BOTH!
I think this automobile is well thought out and well-built, so far a joy to own and operate! I like the interior style and trim. Maybe I will get asked for an update on my review in 10K miles and I will have a different opinion. For now, it has enough good stuff to make me feel like I was smart to buy a Kia, and this was a good pick. It seems solid plus I also like that JD Powers has been tracking quality metrics and it has trended up and up and is right up there with the the top the 4 BEST in class. That means Kaizen and Six Sigma. That means serious business. Update 3-17: Not even 3k miles yet, still love it. Update 9/17- Just over 5.5k now, I like the GDI motor. Have been camping a couple of times, that is one of the reasons we wanted a mini-van. It holds a lot of stuff! Update 3/18 Still like my van very much. Built in diagnostics have never indicated any issues. Still like the ride!

Buy the damn van already!
This is by far the best family vehicle we have ever owned. It is so roomy with tons of storage. We love the front console, kids love the captain's chairs. It got great mileage on our last road trip, and performed well in snowy and icy conditions. The only "con" if you can call it that, is that stock DVD/Entertainment systems are not available through Kia. However, we made the best of it with our portable devices. The Sedona was so much more affordable than the competitors. This is overall a great purchase. Seriously parents, if you are doing the van vs SUV thing (I did), this will by far exceed your expectations with style, comfortable seating, mileage, storage and lower insurance rates. Happy shopping.

Kia Sedona Engine problem
Bought a 2016 Kia Sedona EX. It was leaking oil before I bought it so the dealership had the leak fixed. However, the day after I brought it home, the oil was still leaking. I was told it was residual. Also, the day after I brought it home, it started overheating. There were air bubbles in the coolant reservoir. I took it back to the dealer and it turned out the be a problem in the engine. Something about the bolts on the engine are plastic and they get stripped allowing air to get in. This seems to be a problem with these cars. Fortunately for me, the dealership made it right and let me choose another vehicle.

Second Sedona as good as first one
Put 100K trouble free miles on my 2012 and it was running and looked just like new. Got the bug for a newer one and a deal popped up on a 20K mile 2016 LX with the features I missed. Now at 55K miles with new tires it handles and is every bit as reliable as my 2012 was. Tracked mileage since I've owned it and getting a consistent 24 mpg urban driving. Ride is carlike and heated seats are perfect for a really bad back. Love it! Update: 65K miles and everything same - same. Replacement Goodyear tires quieted ride down and awesome grip in the wet. No change in gas mileage. I may keep this car forever.

Give it a try
Bought used. 40k so far. Pros - Comfortable, confident ride - Good performance for a van. Easily tows our pop-up. - Versatile and spacious - Reliable. Zero mechanical issues. - Decent gas mileage. 18-20 city and 25-27 highway. - Android Auto and Apple Carplay Cons - I understand they've added these features in later years, but the Sedina should have blind spot detection and even forward collision detection standard. - The USB ports are low wattage. Phones barely charge. - I'm concerned about how well the body will hold up. The paint chips easily and we somehow ripped the upholstery (although that could be a simple case of abuse by my kids). Overall I'm very satisfied with this van especially when confusing the value. Kia's depreciate quickly when bought new so this van was very affordable when purchased used. We test drove a Caravan and Sienna. My wife and I both agree that the Sedona design and layout is better.
