2024 Kia Niro EV Consumer Reviews

Electronics are hard to learn and set.
I bought this car in mid Janurary. I have spent hours and hours trying to learn and use the electronics. I will drive down the street and the defrost will come on full blast because the computer said the conditions are good for it. The car is like that as it knows better than you what should be working and when. I wanted to love this car but the climate/radio/electronic brake/etc controls are too intertwined and drive (pun intended) me crazy. I have gone through the help videos and finally gave up. This is ten hour course and I DON'T CARE, ANYMORE. Enough. If I could sell this car back to the dealer I would. By the way, the vehicle part is great and I really like it but the electronics is too much. I think the engineers figured out all the things they could do something but nobody had the wisdom to limit all they could do, such as the five ways the defrost can be activated at full blast. By the way, I have a degree in chemistry and have built and a house and remodeled another. The car computer system is junk. I had a 2022 Bolt and the computer and other features worked great and were a lot less complicated.

First EV
Moved from Hybrid to EV and not looking back. Lots of bells and whistles to digest but not impossible. Very comfortable with lots of driver/passenger comfort. For anyone thinking about EV this year the tax credits were 14K in Colorado that also pushed us to EV over the Hybrid. No disappointments at all!

A PERFECT MATCH for Me
2023 Niro wave EV. This machine has a smooth torquey motor that responds quickly and remains strong throughout the acceleration. The range is good, as advertised. Seats are very comfortable with very good lumbar support. The options on the ev display are numerous and I declined a few such as lane change driver assist. A big plus is the cargo area. With back seats down, I’ve hauled eight bags of yard waste and more. I wouldn’t call this car a “beauty “ but “well put together“instead. The toggle feature from climate to entertainment takes some time to become familiar with. My summary is five stars of satisfaction.

Nicely done.
All is well with this vehicle-but winter blues with the range-about half of warm weather driving. The stated mileage after home charging keeps increasing. It would be 260-280 miles. Then it started rising to 315 or so, now last 2 charges are showing 350-360 mile range. Charging time remains about the same as usual. Dealer says car is normal-I have owned it just over a year now.
