Used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Consumer Reviews
New to jeep, hope to keep...but electrical problems bringing doubt
I was excited to buy my first jeep limited v8. However, My car has 2945 miles and this is the second time that all of the lights on the dash have come on and the speedometer does not work. It happened at 50 miles and they said moisture got in spark plug. The dealer did not offer a loaner right away and I had company coming. They ended up giving me a mini van. But today I am still waiting for them to fix my car. I hope this is not going happen again in several miles or I made a big mistake with this car purchase.
Before Fiat came to the rescue, Chrysler was dying
The premium radio and navigation system is out of date, of poor quality and no upgrades available. The sound system has almost no memory, you need to "plug in" a hard drive with your downloads or carry the CDs with you. Worst of all, the driver's seat has some component that will periodically "thump" you at your kidney level on the door side of the seat. I don't know if it is the lumbar support springing out, or something else. Since it only happens periodically, the dealer won't try to fix my new car with this little "gift" from Chrysler. Just like they don't consider the "Premium Navigation" system not knowing that I-49 is open north of Shreveport as being any concern. Service sucks.

Not happy with this Jeep
I bought the Jeep GC Overland because I like the styling and read a great review by Warren Brown in the Wash Post. After owning the car for 2 months, I wish I hadn't purchased it. I've had the car in for service twice already, both times due to faulty computer issues (radio presets gone, clock not working, NAV system freezing), and transmission issues. The first time, I was told that they did software updates which should fix the problem, and the 2nd time, I was told that there is nothing wrong with the car (even though they recognize/identify the issue). Apparently, Jeep doesn't have a fix for the issue, so the issue doesn't exist.
2014 Cherokee Limited diesel
30,000 mi. Had 2 catalytic converters. 7 engine lights. frustrating to have a new car that strands you a 100 miles from home. Even with appointments car is not always looked at on that day. Not right. Always excuse they are short in techs. (So you can an be out 2 days without a car) Oil changes are ok. $60 oil filter on diesel, + oil + labor. first car I SOLD with such low mileage because I was of being in the shop and unreliable

Loving this baby!
Third update- 5 1/2 years of ownership. Still love it. Did have to replace the radio which was extremely frustrating because it had noted issues while still under warranty, but when it finally died completely they would not cover it under the warranty. I have noticed the transmission is a little more “jerky” than previous, but typically only in first and second gear. Other than that, no issues and still love it! Second update with over three and a half years of ownership. Still love it just as much as the day I bought it and will continue to drive for a long time! It was recalled due to people having issues knowing if it was in park before exiting vehicle. Seriously? I've never had any issue and always made sure I looked at the actual screen to see it was in the appropriate gear. No issues with my Jeep at all for me. Updated review after ownership- I have owned this car for three years. While it has had a few recalls, they were for minor issues. I have absolutely loved owning this vehicle. I plan to drive it for a very long time and I am very happy with this purchase! Original review-I traded in a 2013 Honda Pilot that I only owned for 6 months. When I bought the Pilot I actually wanted a Jeep, but due to peer pressure, I caved and bought the Pilot. Well after 6 months of driving what felt like a cardboard box on wheels, I traded for the Jeep Limited. I LOVE this car. It is very responsive and smooth. The interior is exquisite and I love the detailing on the leather seats. The exterior is actually what sold me on this SUV. It looks so refined and streamlined. I actually didn't even realize that it was different than the 2013 models, but oh boy is it. Keyless ignition is awesome. Love the fact that I don't have to dig for my keys in the bottom of my purse.
