Used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Consumer Reviews
Terrible Diesel engine
Multiple returns to dealer for problems with Diesel engine. Towed to dealers twice. Plus a vacation interruption because it went into limp mode. At a dealer now for past two weeks 200 miles from home. Multiple visits for engine light being on. Injectors replaced once. Catalytic converter replaced once. Many more problems. The engine does perform great when not in shop.

Best Grand Cherokee we've ever owned!
We've had our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for 4 years now, having bought it in 2016 with 53k miles. As of December 2020, it is sitting at almost 160k miles, and we love it! Our Jeep's options are the 8.4" navigation system radio, 20" tires and wheels, and a sunroof (the latter of which we don't really use). We have the 3.6L V6 which has plenty of power (as compared to the 4.7L V8-equipped 2005 Grand Cherokee we traded in for it), and using it as a daily commuter, we get close to 25 MPG on the highway. It's so comfortable, and the 8.4" touchscreen in the dash is responsive and has plenty of things to play around with (as does the color screen in the gauge cluster). Speaking of the sound system, it's awesome, and it's the "middle" sound system option with 10 speakers and a subwoofer. The biggest issue we've had over the past 4 years is the typical blend door issue these have, where the passenger side only blows cool air (not warm or ice cold). It's going to likely cost a bit of money to fix, but it will be worth fixing. We are thinking about buying a newer Jeep to replace it with a few more goodies. We've owned several Grand Cherokees over the past 25+ years, and this is the best one we've owned yet. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. I highly recommend the Grand Cherokee to anyone shopping for an awesome family SUV that has plenty of luxury goodies, and gets awesome MPG for the daily commute!

it looks nice..... but dont be fooled
i have 2014 grand cherokee laredo, what a disappointment.... under no conditions should you lease or worse buy one of these mech nightmare chrysler products . the recalls with the transmission, the heating/ac. system failures (I have been to the dealer over 10 times to fix this problem) and it still doesn't work correctly. I had an acadia prior to this and it was great. I Never had so much aggravation in 40 years of owning cars as I have had with this jeep. so my best advice..... you buy one of these because its cool, or looks great, you'll be sorry .... just get a standing appointment at the service dept (for repairs)

New to jeep, hope to keep...but electrical problems bringing doubt
I was excited to buy my first jeep limited v8. However, My car has 2945 miles and this is the second time that all of the lights on the dash have come on and the speedometer does not work. It happened at 50 miles and they said moisture got in spark plug. The dealer did not offer a loaner right away and I had company coming. They ended up giving me a mini van. But today I am still waiting for them to fix my car. I hope this is not going happen again in several miles or I made a big mistake with this car purchase.
Before Fiat came to the rescue, Chrysler was dying
The premium radio and navigation system is out of date, of poor quality and no upgrades available. The sound system has almost no memory, you need to "plug in" a hard drive with your downloads or carry the CDs with you. Worst of all, the driver's seat has some component that will periodically "thump" you at your kidney level on the door side of the seat. I don't know if it is the lumbar support springing out, or something else. Since it only happens periodically, the dealer won't try to fix my new car with this little "gift" from Chrysler. Just like they don't consider the "Premium Navigation" system not knowing that I-49 is open north of Shreveport as being any concern. Service sucks.
