I love my trailhawk, it goes everywhere I point it safely and securely. The ride is firm however it is a off road package. I use it to tow my pontoon boat, rzr and even towed my dirt bike from Tennessee to California no issues. The newest transmission update the dealer has done made my jeep shift like a dream. I love the 9 speed at 85mph it hits 9th and fuel mileage jumps to 25mpg and she rolls happily down the road. In the Smokey mountains last week I was comfortable enough to head out through Martha Sundquist park alone in the snow covering almost 100 miles on dirt, mud and water crossings while listening to my xm radio. My last vehicle was a 2016 Ram 3500 dually my trailhawk makes me smile every time I drive it.

At first I loved this Jeep, I honestly planned on driving forever! Two years later nothing but issues with my transmission! I was spending SO much money, and it was in the shop more than on the road!

I really like the styling, comfort, and performance of this SUV. The big problem is the ongoing repairs (thank God it is still under warranty), including the current one when the cruise control went wacko on me; which almost caused a really bad accident. On top of this little problem, the dealership has had it for 12 days with no resolution (OR CONTACT FROM THEM, NO RETURN CALLS FROM THEM!!). I guess Chrysler/Jeep doesn't care about their customers letting this problem happen and a dealership like this to operate. Don't buy any of their products, you could lose your life!!! Note: the next section "Vehicle details" did not offer and option for my model - the 3.6L Trailhawk...

*Not for the reason you might think. I actually owned the 3.2 V6 version, but Edmunds didn't have it listed in their drop-down selection. Had a knuckle changed out when turning the steering wheel made disturbing metal-on-metal noise. They only changed out one (25K miles), and then it happened again (40K miles), so dealer assumed it was the other one. They ended up changing both as the first one was not changed out correctly. When I had my Cherokee Trailhawk in the shop, the dealer gave me a loaner vanilla Cherokee. Night and day difference. The Trailhawk is far better in every respect. I had actually downsized from a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited V6 due to a drive-thru car wash nightmare, and can say that I probably should have kept the GC and just had it fixed. The KL Cherokee Trailhawk is okay at best. Ride comfort is fair, but build quality isn't worth the window sticker price - buy it when they have sales/offers, and then negotiate even lower. Gas mileage is not good, and the engine auto stop-start is supposed to help with that, but is really just annoying. Worsening the problem is the tiny gas tank. If this thing had a bigger tank (bigger than 13.5 gallons), I would have been a lot happier. As it is, mature driving, I could go just over 300 miles on a tank. I could sometimes go up to 500 miles in the GC without having to stop for gas. Haven't tried towing, but have heard mileage drops to about 10mpg, which is not going to get you up a mountain and back with a mini travel trailer. So, climb some small rocks, hit the trails, but don't plan on being gone all day - or you'll be gone longer than you expected. Ended up trading it in for something completely different. Probably done with Jeep for awhile.

electrical issues @ 20k power train issues @ 50k heating issues @ 60k etc etc 280 hp option still is underpowered. handles like a boat. less room in a standard sedan than this. too many useless features. auto shutoff is stupid and uncessacary. too many issues. gas tank size wayyy too small for an "offroad vehicle" only positive is interior/exterior looks nice interior is nice. we drove it like a baby for the first 20k and used it for highway mostly and it still had issues. worst vehicle we have ever had.
