Used 2019 INFINITI QX50 Consumer Reviews
Love the redesign. No complaints.
I drove a previous version of the this car (the EX) for almost 10 years and decided it was time for a new one with they changed the body style. I love it. I have the Pure edition. I have owned the car for 1 year and have put 15,000 miles on it. My average gas mileage for that time is 26.5 (premium gas). I have not experienced any of the issues that other reviewers mention. I live in South Florida, but I have never had an issue with the A/C not keeping it cool enough. No gas smell. It handles beautifully and is quiet. It is comfortable for long rides. It has adequate room for a family of four. I plan on driving it for another 9 years. Many of the criticisms are about features not available on my trim level. My car does not brake by itself, and it does not have a moonroof.

Small quirks, "A" for effort, Comfortable.
I do not like Intel based infotainment system, but next gen 2020, has Android and Apple to choose. It was acting up weirdly first year but after the update was all fine. Paint, just try not to step on a door frame and scrape it with your heel. It will cost you 700$ for a paint job. It is quiet ride. I really "love" my dealership that placed a used car battery that died at 27 000Km! Car is solid, well built. Highway is 9 liters per 100 km, with 2 occupants. City is 11.7 Liters per 100km in a summer. In a winter add 2L more for a city driving. My average speed in city is 24km per hour, (yay Toronto traffic). I run AC all the time since my wife is a backside driver (a screamer when she told me to slow down from 40km hour speed limit) so I cannot open windows. I purchased roof rack from a stealership, that is a breeze to set up with Allen key. Acceleration need a better tuning at times is jerky. I am still with original tires, no flats. I do not like that there is no spare tire, but what do I know, I am old school. E-mode you can forget, I am on a sport mode 24/7, to get maximum power. There is no weird fume smells when I purchase it, it is a smell of burning plastic, that is heated up by engine. That is gone within 6 months. I will keep the car after the lease.

Love my QX50
I’m buying my leased infinity. I’ve had it for 3 years and so far I’ve had it aligned, new tires and a new battery. I have the fabulous red color with wheat interior. People walk up to me in parking lots and pay compliments. It’s a gorgeous car. My former car was a 2004 Lexus 350– another great car. My husband drives it now. With more than 330,000 miles it’s still purring along. I just didn’t like the new design of the Lexus in 2019. The OC Infinity dealership is incredibly customer service friendly. I’m not a fan of run flat tires but that is the only negative. The gas mileage is great (average is 27 mpg) and the turbo gives it a very punchy, quick acceleration response. Premium gas is recommended. The only thing that could make it better would be to sit up a little higher and captain style armrests in the front. It’s very sporty and classy. I hope I never have the problems others have reported here. So far my QX50 has been great.

Infiniti won't do a recall despite many complaints
I noted outside air leaking from the driver's side window despite the window is completely shut. The loud outside air/noise is annoying and distracting. This morning, I took my SUV to the dealership to be fixed. The service advisor told me that this has been a common complaint of QX50 owners. He claimed that he notified Infiniti and was told there's nothing that can be done to fix this problem. So I asked him if this is a common complaint, why doesn't Infiniti do a recall? His response was, "It's not a safety issue". My husband suggested that they replace the gasket. The service advisor said that replacing the gasket will not solve the problem. So, what's the solution? NOTHING! Now I'm stuck with this vehicle (less than 2 years old and only has 11,500 mileage) that has a problem which Infiniti claimed has no solution. How absurd! I'll have to either use earplugs while driving or turn on the radio to the maximum volume. I had a Toyota luxury car for 10 years which never had this air leak problem. Disappointed with Infiniti. Will have to trade my SUV for another type.

Overall nice car, not great service
I bought the 2019 Essential model in Oct 2018 and have had the car for 22 months. POSTIVES: smooth luxury ride. The features are nice and I love the leather seats. I wanted a luxury vehicle and it feels and looks amazing. NEGATIVES: slow response due to CVT, even in the turbo sport mode. I cannot get the nagivation system updated so I have to use my phone for accuracy. The new 2020 version offers Android auto...good move. Most disappointing was the service of the dealer. 2 months I. Owning g the vehicle the infosystem would lock up, prohibiting the use of the phone or nagivation features. I took the car in and they could not replicate the issue. I dealt with it for a year. A co-worker said he had the same issue and the dealer had a fix. I took my car back in for a whole day, and not resolved. Finally on the third time and 18 months later it has been fixed. Also I have contacted two separate dealers to obtain touch up paint. Still have not been able to get any. Even with those issues, I love my car.
