I love this newly designed Infiniti Qx50

I was looking for a Hybrid Luxury SUV , One day I ended up going to Infiniti dealer and checked out 2019 QX50, just fell in love with it and bought it. The sales team was wonderful and absolutely friendly. I have owned it for couple of months now, I bought a fully loaded QX50 Essential with everything that this model can have. It is stunningly great purchase. I am getting good city fuel economy almost 22 City and 27 High way. I was big fan of Honda cars for last 22 years and when it comes to luxury cars I did not want to buy anything from Honda/Acura, so I checked out BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Infiniti and bought it. Lots of cargo space and fantastic second row seating with lots of leg room. I love the meticulously designed interiors of the car and very smooth ride. I notice lots of QX60 on the road and I am sure by next year you will end up seeing lots of QX50s . You buy a luxury car to get a very smooth ride and feel the luxurious interiors and features, I love the features that this car has. The Infotainment system (which is least important) need some good work but Loved having two screens one for Navigation and one for utilities and features. These days most of the cars use CVT Transmission but will give very smooth ride compared to traditional transmission. European car fans should check this car for sure. I love the new VC Turbo Engine and all the driving modes.

Satisfied and Happy!!!

Review sites like these tend to attract the extreme 5% on either end of the spectrum; extremely happy or wildly disappointed. The 90% of us in the middle who are satisfied because the vehicle meets are expectations aren’t often compelled to write a review. But looking at the low composite rating on this site I was compelled to write one. First of all, this is my wife’s car; I too have a QX50 but it’s the 2017 hot-rod version. If I could have only one of the two, it would be the 2019. We bought a well-optioned Essential 29 months ago with only 7k miles. It now has over 15k trouble-free miles. My wife loves it for her day-to-day use and we both especially love it for long-distance trips. We have owned a number of BMWs and Audis, one Mercedes and one Lexus and this SUV rides as well as any of them and handles almost as well within the limits we put a car to. Infiniti have managed to make a mid-size SUV handle crisply and corner more flatly than expected while also making it one of the most comfortable road cruisers out there. The seats are class-leading and might only be bettered by a Volvo or an S-class Benz. I drove it non-stop for four hours on our recent trip to Chicago and I hopped out of it at a rest stop with zero aching joints, muscles or back pain. I’ve got no complaints about mpg. On our return trip I reset the mpg meter just as we entered I-294 heading South to I-80. Traffic constrained our speed to between 65 and 70 mph but after 45 minutes the car’s computer reported 36.2 mpg!!! At my usual 80 mph cruise it dropped to 29.4 and under my wife’s lead foot down to 24.4. Our day-to-day (no hi-way) returns 22.3 mpg. For a vehicle of its capacity and mid-size I don’t see anything to complain about. My 36+ mpg run proves that the new engine technology actually does deliver on its promise….that number is almost hybrid-like!! I agree with others’ complaints though about ‘bungee-cord-like’ acceleration behavior but that’s only because I’m comparing it to my 2017, which is a little rocket, and also uses a conventional 7-speed transmission. My neighbors had no such complaint when they drove it, so it’s in the eye (or foot?) of the beholder. I just wish it had an actual 7 or 8-speed automatic because I just don’t like CVTs even though I acknowledge what an engineering triumph they are. We also love the two-screen system, but wish it had Apple CarPlay (introduced in the 2021 model). The Bose stereo system is the best we’ve ever heard in any of our cars; sub-woofers in the front doors make a huge difference. Aesthetically, it’s gorgeous, both in and out. Only a Porsche SUV compares and maybe Lincoln’s new family of SUVs. Our blue on wheat is simply delicious. The safety tech is also awesome. Both of our SUVs have almost the same stuff (my 17 lacks the heads-up display) but I like that the steering wheel vibrates in the 2019 vs. the annoying audible beeps in my 2017. The rear and overhead cameras are excellent and all the other LDW, LDA, etc., etc. are awesome. And in our time and miles we’ve suffered zero issues. It is delivering on the Japanese promise of stress-free ownership. So here’s another review from a satisfied customer to offset the poor experiences from others. I guess we’ll justnever know which is the exception and which is the norm, but we are so far fans of Infinitis. Update: 11-1-22. No change in our opinion. The car has taken us to Florida and back (from Philly) comfortably, without issue and the impressive mpg continues (we got 29 mpg over the 2,300 mile trip). We’re at 25k miles now which is still not a lot, and so our trouble-free experience is as should anyway be expected. I’ve discovered that switching the car into ‘sport’ mode erases the bungee-cord sensation when accelerating, but at the expense of a couple of mpg. It’s owner’s choice as to which to use. So yes, we remain completely satisfied and as a career engineer and mfg manager, I have to confess that the vehicle overall is an incredible engineering triumph for Infiniti!! Time (and miles) will tell whether the new-fangled variable compression engine proves reliable, but for now it represents the true state-of-the-art for internal combustion engines.

Honestly, you soak in luxury sitting in this vehicle. It's amazingly comfortable and wonderful to drive. I love all the features and love the MPG for a heavy car like this.

I have Infiniti QX50 2019 and 18000 miles on it. The car giving me a problems from the beginning. 1. AC doesn't work good, it never goes lower than 76, one time AC didn't work at all. Dealer looked at it and said they didn't find any issue, asked to bring the car when AC stop working again. 2. Back passenger door lock is got broken, it doesn't open the door from remote control or other doors. I must turn the lock open using my hand, manually. I have two little kids in their carseats there and if something will happen, I will have no chance to take them out quickly. 3. Today I was driving with two of my little kids and felt a super strong gas smell inside the car. I felt dizzy, start falling asleep. I stopped the car. Thanks God, my husband wasn't far away, he took kids with him. Now, I am on tow truck, towing my car home. I can't go to work and my school tomorrow, over the phone AAA told me that it's not safe to drive my car due to possible fire. I will tow the car to the dealer tomorrow.

Dealer refuses to believe there are problems.

I have had constant issues with Bluetooth dropping despite Make and Model is suppose to be compatible. Settings refer to factory setting every few weeks. The door sometimes does not unlock via of button on handle but key fob still works. The screens sometime go blank but return on restarting car. Electric parking brake sometimes does not release when used while car is running. Releases if car restarted. There are other problems but all seem related to electrical or software bugs. Problem is that on taking it to dealer they claim there is nothing wrong. Fuel mileage is poor compared to Infiniti specs.
