Best value for my money!

Bought it brand new. Hyundai was first to back up their vehicles with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty and after owning one for 6 years and putting on over 100,000 trouble free miles on mine I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for value. Built very well and durable. Showed it to my neighbor and he bought one! I like all the many features of this car. In fact, I would refer to it as a "Poor mans Mercedes" to my friends! Always got compliments on the style and color. Dealership was always a pleasant experience. (How many others can say that!)

Purchased new in 2004. XG is a heavy car which tends to smooth out the ride and give it a stable feel over rough roads. It's been very reliable and has many features of more expensive cars. Have 80k miles on it now and it will be paid of in a month. normally that means deciding on a new car but I'm keeping this one. Fully expect to get another 80k before selling.

Traded a 05 Chevy C1500 to my sister for the car. Wife is main driver of the car and she loves it very much. Rides smooth and feels solid, not tinny like a small car. Decent power(I am used to V8 cars with manual trans) and will out run most similar type cars. Has almost every otion you can think of except HID lights and navigation. Has 45,000 miles on it now, only warranty work was replacememnt of a sensor for the emissions system on the gas tank. Brakes are good, no problems with warpage of the rotors even driving down moutains every day. Decent radio, good enough to get the job done but no DB drag winner. Best car for the money in its price range. Check it out first when looking at cars.

Steering Wheel Squeak

Car is reliable. Main concern is a annoying squeak in the steering wheel whenever I turn the wheel. Dealer say's it's the clockspring and a problem in all XG350's that won't go away...even with a new clockspring. In other words, there is nothing the dealership can do. I wonder if other owners have same problem. CD player also died shortly after warranty expired.

I was in the market for a smaller car and actually went to the dealership to test drive a Sonata. I did drive a Sonata but once I climbed into the XG, I knew my search was over. I have no complaints about my car. People constantly mistake it for a Lincoln LS. One lady climbed out of her car to look at mine. She was slightly embarrased by the time she got to my window as she was in the market for a new car and thought mine was a Jaguar. It is the best car I have ever owned. When the time comes for another, I will definately start with Hyundai.

Really great car after 4 months of driving. I think this is a sharp looking car inside and out with loads of standard features. Great acceleration. Behaves very well on the highway even at 'passing speeds'. Mileage is better than my Taurus. The car had some sway in hard turns and some tire noise but when I put on a quality set of tires both were solved. I consider this the nicest car I have ever owned, new or used, in 36 years of driving and the least expensive to buy. I was able to see the previous owner's maintenance records and the car has never had a problem.

this has been our main vehicle for 3.5 years - we bought it new after looking at various Japanese and american cars of similar size and options. for much less money AND with over double the warranty we just grin as we drive our (now) paid off car. we have had 1 issue with the car at around 50k miles - the throttle body assembly had to be replaced which was performed under warranty with no hassles at all. had that happend on any other car that expensive part and labor would have set us back about $1300. AND, IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY for another 25k+ miles (ha ha!). btw, we traded in a 2002 Elantra GT (sweet car also) to upgrade to the XG - we never had a minutes probelm with the GT.

I traded a 2000 Cadillac Seville on my 2004 XG350L and in comparison the Cadillac was an over-rated piece of sh*t. Prior to the Cadillac I had a Lincoln Town Car. Both cars ran and rode fine but the problem with American cars is once they turn 5 years old and exceed 100,000 miles on them not only is it time to replace them, you have no value left in them. This really burns me for what you pay for them. I went with the Hyundai for the warranty but did not figure I would be as impressed as I was because with the Lincoln and Cadillac I had grown accustomed to a certain level of luxury. Well the XG350 far surpassed my expectations to say the least.

I recently sold my 2004 Hyundai XG350L after owning it for three years. It was already older and had some miles on it, so I did end up doing a number of repairs on the car, but I feel that is normal for any 10+ year-old vehicle. After purchasing it with ~117,000 miles, I ended up replacing the head gaskets, power steering pump assembly, and the a/c compressor, as well as updating the media player. I also made some normal maintenance replacements: tires, brakes, battery. Pretty normal, I think. The issues I had were a radiator leak that could not be diagnosed (I had to make sure to top it off monthly), electrical problems (sunroof & frontseat overhead light panel never worked-it also developed a thing where it would lock the entire car when you closed the passenger front door). By the time I sold it, several dash lights were on. The airbag light came on a couple of months after I bought the car (after doing some research I found this issue has been reported before for this car, and might be related to the seat that automatically moves forward/backward, inadvertently disconnecting the airbag wires). I never had this problem diagnosed or fixed, though, because I believed it would be too expensive relative to the car's value. Over the last year that I had the car, the ABS brake light began turning on/off as well. It was coming time to replace the timing belt and, along with the other existing issues, I felt it was time to get a new car. Having said all that, I did really enjoy this car. It was affordable and had a lot of luxury features I'd never had before: leather seats, autodimming rearview mirror, heated seats, Infinity audio system, driver seat that automatically moved forward/backward to make entry easier, great climate controls, etc. I thought it was a neat car, and I even liked its fake wood paneling. To me, this car had character and pizazz. It's very roomy and comfortable if you regularly have two or more passengers. It is very comfortable to drive & accelerates pretty well (it does have a wide turning radius though-not the best for navigating in tight quarters). All in all, if you are on a budget and find one of these cars that has been well maintained, I'd recommend it.

I brought this car new and traded a 2001 Mercury Grand Marque in the deal. The Hyundai far exeeded my expectations and was far and away better than the Grand Marque in every area. I have owned many cars in my life and this is one of the best. I have driven it 58,000 miles with little or no problems.

I have had my eye on these since I spotted their reliability ratings in Consumer Reports. Clearly Hyundai had and earned a very poor reputation due to their early issues. They have come storming back, however. This car is not quite up to the level of Toyota (Avalon), Acura, or Lexus, but it is very close and a heck of a lot better value. I have only had it a short time, but if it holds up well, I may well find myself becoming as loyal to Hyundai as I have been to Toyota due to consistently superior quality and resale. NOTE: Gas mileage is not really as poor as people say. The issue is the drive by wire throttle and learning system. If you stomp the pedal, mileage will be very low.

I have been driving my new GX350L since April this year. I am very satisfied with this vehicle. I am so proud of myself purchasing it. You pay so little for what you get in the car in comparison to the other cars in the similar class. I test drove Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Maxima but nothing has come close to GX350L. The interior of the car is very luxurious, comfortable and sophisticated. I would say this is a cheap man’s Lincoln. You will be happy, too when you purchase a GX350L.

I have now owned this vehicle for about 14 months. Overall, I am satisfied that I got what I paid for (having bought it used in good condition, cheap). It recently started running very rough. I went to dealership and they said plug wires rotted after 4 years is "common" for Hyundai. Hyundai calls this "wear and tear" and will not warranty. I had heard weak reviews on their actual execution on their so- called "America's Best Warranty" and I now have first hand knowledge. If you can buy it cheap, and in good shape, not a bad ride. But I will not buy a new Hyundai as their warranty promises clearly are not kept, in my opinion and experience. Back to Toyota I go.

This GX350L is a undiscovered gem by consumers! It is loaded with all the creature comforts that more expensive cars have and many at huge up-charges. This car has it all. It is fun to drive, settles down on the highway as smooth as silk and handles bumps with ease. I'd recommend it to anyone and I do, every chance I get. Its a "Eye-Catcher" too... Most who see it can't tell if its a Contential, Acura, or Mercedes as it looks very similar. I don't know what's wrong with Edmunds Editors in their ratings, but they are all wet...

Beautiful to look at, a joy to drive. Power is adequate, ride smooth and handling very good for a mid-sized $25- $30k luxury sedan. Excellent brakes and other up to date safety features included in a long standard equipment list. It makes me smile everytime I open the door and see the interior. I keep smiling as I drive it away thinking of the superb car I got for so little money. Has the look and feel of a much more expensive car. Warranty is $1000 better than most factory warranties. The car is a good buy at a $26594 MSRP. Our new 2005 XG350L is absolutely amazing for under $19k + ttl price paid. For that kind of $, it's a perfect 10! Drive and compare, you'll buy too.

My XG350L is nearly a year old and has almost 10k miles. I rent cars a good bit due to my job (had a Jag last week) so I get to compare my 350 to various models. I’ll tell you this, when I get back to my car EVERY TIME, I feel good about my purchase. Wife has a Camry and it doesn’t compare and paid about the same $. Great riding car, plenty of power, fair brakes, roomy interior, many extras that would cost more with other cars. Saw other reviewers knock the seats, not cushy enough, I find the seats comfortable (a little firm but roomy, I’m 6’, 235 lbs.) and they have loosened up some with time, making them even better. Took it on 14 hour day trip, road fatigue was minimal.

My wife and I test drove everything, and we were absolutely blown away by this car. For a lot less than we would have spent for a Toyota or Nissan, and much less than Lexus or Infiniti, we got a premium vehicle with the best warranty on the market. It's classy, fun to drive, and offers so many amenities as standard that other models only give for additional dollars. Don't let the Hyundai name fool you - this is one impressive car.

This car really took me by surprise. I was checking out between Jetta, this car, and the smallest Kompressor model of Mercedes. This car ruled the others out when i took it for a test drive. I couldn't believe the smoothness and quiteness! The power is more than i can ask for. the RPM stays below 2.5 x1000, as compared to others that reach way above 3.0. lack of visibility of the time and radio screen during daytime? Change the light to "off" which still keeps your daytime headline on, then turn on the night headlight when the sun goes down. Most asian cars are manual

The minute I saw this celadon green car on the lot I knew I had to test drive it. It was easily the sharpest car in the lot. When I tested it, my husband and I were hooked!!! The car is so luxurious and quiet, and has a powerful engine that zips in and out of traffic. The air conditioner blows ice cold and I especially love the back seat air vents and console for the kids. I feel safe in this car, and the 10 year warranty can't be beat. Everywhere we go someone tells us how elegant our car looks. I bought it 1 year old, (Let someone else pay for the depreciation) and the dealer provided us with all service records. We are thrilled that we chose this car over the toyota camry.

I own a Canadian model of the XG350. This basically means it has all of the features of the base XG with most of the "L" extras except the wood-grain steering wheel. It's the only model available in Canada. In short, I love the car. I first drove a 300 when they came out in "01 and wanted one immediately. It took four more years, but the 350 has been a great car. Ride, handling and comfort for thousands less than the competition. Last week I stretched it out to 205KM/HR and it had lots left. I hope Hyundai's replacement, the "Azera" is as much value.

Having owned a 2002 XG350L I can honestly say the 2004 is a significant improvement. The 02 had the shift quality problem but the 04 does not exhibit this. I love everything about the XG. The cosmetic upgrades are great and made an expensive looking car even better. This car should be classified in the ranks of Lexus and Infinity. Have owned 4 Hyundais since 2001 before this I only bought GM. Hyundai is now my car company, It has proven itself to me with my previous ownership experience. I am happy to report NO PROBLEMS on any of my Hyundais.

I purchased my first ever Hyundai in 2001. It was an XG300L. After test driving the vehicle, I found that it had a lot of the quaities and performance that I was acustomed to. Being the previous owner of a Cadilac Eldorado and a Coup De Ville. The XG300 was a superise in the handling and interior design which was very much fashionablle. The ride was most impressive, and the handling of the vehicle was a surprise. I recently purchased a 2004 XG350L. The change of the engine to a 3.5lt. increased the HP/and the torque in the vehicle. It was FAST. I now own the XG350L.

Bought 1st car on 1/24/04. Had severe lectrical problems. Dealer replaced car on 1/30/04. This one has been in shop 2 times for transmission shifting problems with clank & rough shift from 1st gear to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Asked dealer to buy back and he offered us $9000 less than we had paid having put only 1400 miles on the car. Windshield wipers also real noisy. On Curse, get feeling of tip-over. Hate this car and also the way dealer has done, but guess I am stuck. My advice.Don't buy one.

Absolutely LOVE my XG350L. It's like a Lexus for 1/2 the price. Features galor. Beautiful inside and out. Have not encountered the transmission issue mentioned in the editors review. It does have some body roll in quick tight turns and undulates a bit when driving fast on bumpy roads, but if I wanted a more sporty ride for more enthusiatic driving, I would have bought something else. What I wanted was a luxurious, smooth riding, touring vehicle. That's exactly what I got. Simply a great car for a great price.

Wife's new XG350L but I love driving it too. Critics compare exterior styling to the Jaguar, Lincoln LS, and Infinity. So what! We don't care what the Hyundai resembles. Very appealing appearance and is extremely comfortable and well appointed on the inside. Could't touch Toyota, Honda, or Lincoln LS for this car's cost. Not a Sport Sedan but ride is very comfortable and the handling is well behaved. 4 wheel ABS disk brakes, traction control, front and side air bags and a specially reinforced crash bar hidden in the doors and the vehicle make safety a great selling point. Huge list of standard features.

We are coming up on a year with our XG350L; we have been very pleased with the vehicle except for the gas mileage. The XG350L is a beautiful car inside and out with a price and warranty that made it a lot easier to finally walk away from Toyota. We were concerned about potential reliability issues but the warranty made us feel a little more comfortable about our decision. Once we weighed all the options it was an easy choice when the two prices where compared and Toyota would not kick in floor mats.

I have been very satisfied with this automobile. I found it to be a solid car with almost every feature I could ever afford. It has very good acceleration and the braking is also excellent. I have found this car to be a solid performer.

After reading all the glowing consumer reviews I bought this car, unfortunately for me. I drive a lot and found that the armrest is placed too far back for me to rest my elbow on while driving. This has been a major disappointment for me as I cannot seem to get comfortable while driving. Perhaps men don't have this problem as their arms are longer but I am warning any women to make sure they feel totally comfortable before buying. I also have trouble adjusting the radio while driving, again too far away. I love the looks of the car both inside and out. The front seats could be a little longer though for better leg support.

My last two cars were a Lincoln Continental and a Cadillac Catera. I recently traded in the Catera for my Hyundai and love it. My husband and I took a two week road trip and logged over 4000 miles. The composition of this car is solid. The luxury features of the car are more than I can ask for. I am fed up with US made cars and want to know when Hyundai will get on the NYSE.

The overall features are great. The only option which is not available is a navagation package. This should be offered in the 2005 model. The car offers much for your investment. If you didn't know you were in a Hundai you would think it's a much higher end vehicle. (BMW etc)

I purchased a 2003 Sonata last year and liked it so much that I decided to trade up to the 2004 XG350L. The car is the best value out there and the ride, amenities and finish of the car are excellent. I would recommend the car to anyone looking for a luxury sedan without the luxury price!

Owned the car 3 mos. and driven 4500 miles with no problems. It's a great value for the money. Only feature that I miss from my previous car is steering wheel controls for the radio.
