Problems I have encountered 1. 16,500 miles some type of sensor caused the car not to idle when I put gas into the tank 2. 19,803 Front brake rotors resurfaced 3. 25,598 Front brake rotors resurfaced 4. 33,204 Front brake rotors replaced, pads replaced 5. 44,688 Front brake rotors resurfaced 6. 44,688 Rear shoes replaced 7. 45,000 door speaker stopped working 8. 48,000 Driver widow cable came of track and stopped working 9. 53,000 Passenger widow stopped going up all the way 10. 55,00 Driver window now making popping noise when I role it up 11. 55,000 The hood has rusted from the inside out

Good reliable transportation. I beat this car like a red headed step child. Lots of high speed, jack rabbit starts and idling. Excellent Heat and A/C. 30MPG also. Have had problems: Both Front windows stopped rolling up (cause was Nylon Wear Strips), Both rear wheel bearings, 3 camshaft position sensors, EVAP purge valve, lastly major engine oil leaks. 84000 miles and still under warranty. 4cyl w/5 spd.

after 28000 miles a new transmission was put in. many problems relating to trans. now it approaching 40000 miles is showing agian signs of another trans. electrial problems also was about 25000 miles. over all very dissatified with this car. bought it for the warrenty and plan of getting rid of it before it is up.

I liked my Sonata until it spontaneously caught fire for no reason!! The car was not even running, it was off!! I hope they find the problem and recall these cars. We were bringing it in for problems all the time. The warranty doesn't cover fire damage!! Don't get a Sonata, they catch on fire for no reasone!!

I am happy with my purchase decision. It has been a good car for the money paid. It has provided a good value.
