beware if buying for your kids to ride in
I first bought a Hyundai sonata 2011 which was fair in function considering the cost so I decided to change to the Santa Fe 2.0T I bought this Santa Fe for my wife and our two girls then 4 and 5yrs old. First problem was when one of the rare seat beat got locked up in my daughter's car seat as she tried to unlock the seal belt so she could get out of the car while we were in the garage no matter how hard we tried we could not get it released and in fact it got more tightened across her belly to the point she started foaming. Eventually we had to do the inevitable, cut the seat belt to free our daughter. When we took it to the dealership ,they played it down until I told them I was not as stupid as they may think. After fixing it for us the problem persisted when I took it back they were trying to force me to believe that was how a seat belt was suppose to work. For heaven sake, I have own 12 yr old VW and the belt worked better. As a result we had to place a scissors in the car and for 6 months my 4yr old did not want to sit in that car. The winter was the worse periods because I had to pull on the seat belt and adjust it several times before getting it to work in the cold freezing winter. I paid over $ 550 monthly as lease payment to endure such brutality from Hyundai. There were so many other customer service problems with this vehicle from Hyundai America to the local dealership including transmission breakdown that the least said the better. I decided to add a little more $200 to get an Acura MDX and I feel liberated. NEVER again will I spend my hard earned dollars on a Hyundai. The cost savings is not worth the dangerous risk . What if we were at a shopping mall parking lot and my little darling got stuck and foamed to death as she was choking.

Nice at first-now the worst purchase ever
I bought the Santa Fe in April of 2013. I put a lot of miles on my vehicle with highway travel back and forth to work and driving my child to her activities. Currently my vehicle has 40,000 in October of 2014. I really enjoyed the vehicle at first, until the funny clunking sound started in the front end while starting off from a complete stop. After my Hyundai ceritifed service department at Bob Brady Dodge proceded to tell me nothing was wrong with my vehicle and that they had driven it 10 miles, although the odometer had the same mileage as when it was dropped off. When the service guy rode with me he did confirm it didn't sound right, although they convinced me it was just the AWD.

She's Just Fine
Passenger seat is not full power. Dash material on the cheap side but acceptable. The only thing I would change about this vehicle is to delete the rubber trim around the wheel wells and across the lower body. This trim is unsightly even when new, and, unfortunately, appears on most all suv's nowadays. However, Hyundai's sister, Kia, has a Sorento with a trim level where none of this rubber is present, thus, there should be no reason Hyundai cannot do the same. Nevertheless, this has been a great vehicle and I would most certainly purchase it again and recommend it to anyone should I trade it soon for something new.

Cracked motor
I bought a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe mid 2018. I bought the vehicle from autonation ford in coconut creek. I’m the second owner of the vehicle with a clean title and accident free. Bought the car with 102xxx miles and the car currently has 109xxx. The car stopped working at a red light when i was about to make a uturn took to King Hyundai to check, because that’s where i get all my services done by the manufacture since i bought the vehicle, they told me that the motor was cracked. A cracked motor on an accident free vehicle. Hyundai decided not to give any help. Will never buy or refer any vehicles from them ever again. Jonathas pires
I am SOLD!!
I have always bought Fords or Chrysler’s. Shopped for 2 months and by a sheer fluke test drove my next intended practical vehicle. I was hooked! I could not believe the room in this vehicle! The air conditioner has good good power of cold output! I loved how tight it handles the road and the gas mileage is amazing! Mine is a 4 banger and this little sucker has get up and go! I have been told by other owners that these are low low maintenance vehicles, I hope this is the case for me I’ve only had my used Hyundai for 3 weeks and I love it. Wanted a Ford Edge but couldn’t afford it so when I laid eyes on a Santa Fe before the test drive I felt I was settling but once I test drove it and found the air conditioner was three times better that was it, I was a goner. Luv my Hyundai!

Copper
I love my Hyundai Santa Fe! A word of advise to potential buyers, please look over the vehicle, especially in places like the roof, underside of the chassis, just to name a few. They can have damage from hail or from accidents that won't necessarily show on the Carfax that you request. Protect yourself.

Underrated daily driver
I love my 2013 santa fe sport. It's been super reliable and comfortable. We beat it up and it just keeps running. It's good on gas and has great cargo space. It's super stable in rain and snow and surprisingly fun to drive thanks to it not being too heavy and decent weight distribution. The stereo system is quite good. One thing that stopped working was the backup camera but I think there is an easy fix on youtube involving a replacement cable off amazon.

Bad front end parts
One owner 2013 santa fe limited with v-6. 85,000 miles dealer said outer tie rod ends needed replaced. Had 2 other service places look at and confirmed this and one ball joint questionable. Never replaced these items ever in 44 yrs driving with cars up to 250,000 miles. Cost close to $960 and really can tell difference in steering. Car is garaged and most miles are trip miles so makes no sense
owners manual
The owner's manual for this car is the most nonsensical ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Went to look up how to open gas tank.. looked under gas tank, fuel tank, tank, dashboard, door buttons... there was nothing even in the index under anything resembling the fuel tank in any way. Because my sister inherited this technological nightmare from my dead mother we couldn't even ask her so i had to find it on the internet which obviously didn't do us any good while we were sitting at the gas station trying to read the monstrosity of a manual.. People ought to have to pass a learning test to drive this car as well as a chauffeur's license because with all the blind spots you may as well be driving a public school bus.
