You Bought a What?
I have owned many of the upscale brands including Mercedes to Lexus. I am very pleasantly surprised at how the Azera stands up to the higher-priced spread in comparison. The exterior style isn't necessarily a show-stopper but my black and tan Limited with 19 inch wheels stills looks pretty cool coming down the street. The interior is top quality with heated, perforated leather seating, a great sound system and plenty of room -- front and back. The 293 hp engine has plenty of acceleration and gets up to cruising speed on the highway very quickly and smoothly. And a big, big plus is high 20's mileage with regular gas. I considered a pre-owned 5-series Beemer but am very happy that I chose the Azera. This car has all the bells and whistles for under $40K... hard not to give it a chance.

Never before, have I had such an incredible car.
Geez, where to begin on this car? Everything I have ever wanted in a car. The Limited model is truly a luxury car. I mean the outside is just plain oozing with style. It is gorgeous and makes a statement, and definitely makes an impression on the road and in parking lots.....it is just such a "sleek" design. The interior - reminds me of high-end BMW's and other cars with the ambient lighting across the doors and the dashboard (I didn't know it had the interior ambient lighting until later that night after I drove it off the lot.......I already was impressed with the car then I saw that added little thing - it just further blew me away. I swear - I am finding new things on this car every day - until recently I didn't realize the car has a ventilated glove box!! I was like what?? The car drives and handles like a dream - the technology is outstanding, the way the interior is made is so sleek and gorgeous - again "oozes" with style. Honestly - I have had my share of "lemons" and other cars in the past....I have owned sedans, SUVs, and trucks, and the Hyundai Azera stands out by far from all the rest. I mean it when I say it has EVERYTHING. I love the detectors (blind spot, collision, rear cross-traffic alert, a huge screen for the backup camera) - I love how the car is just "smart" and is truly, such a pleasure to drive. Why Hyundai doesn't advertise this dream car is beyond my understanding - I live in a big city and I think I have seen maybe 2 or 3 other Azeras on the road in the last 10 months I have owned the car. If you are considering this automobile - DO IT. Just do it - you will NOT be disappointed. Way nicer and full of amenities than a base model Genesis, and way more value and is just better in my opinion than competitors like the Nissan Maxima or the Toyota Avalon. Did I mention the huge panoramic glass roof? It is a dream on wheels - I will not be trading in anytime soon - again - the Azera is everything I have ever wanted in a car, have gotten NUMEROUS compliments from people on it, it will NOT disappoint. ***Update as of May 2018 - still own it - still love it - still think it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.

Azera - Hyundai's Red Headed Step Child.
This is our 2nd Azera, replacing our 2012 Ltd. For some reason Hyundai does not advertise this car. In the 4 years of owning out first Azera, we only saw one TV ad for this car. I my opinion, this is the best car in it's price range - bar none. The styling is great, quality is fantastic, great acceleration, the back seat is like a limo, and the value for the money is unbelievable. The only minor problems we have with the car is the stupid placement of the control for the power seats, up on the front part of the door instead of on the lower part of the seat bun where they belong, and the gas mileage. It get about 20 MPG around town and about 27 on the road. I thought it would be better, but it does have 290 HP, so I may be dreaming expect more. This car is best deal going too. We got ours for almost $8K off list, which made it to good to pass up, but it was deal at list. If you are looking at something in the $35K range, check out the Azera - you won't believe the value.

Not the luxury cruiser I hoped for
A number of things attracted me to the Azera. We own a CUV for basic transportation, I was looking for a luxury cruiser for extended trips. I was torn between a Chevrolet and the Hyundai. There aren't many cars in this price range that offer V-6 performance with front-wheel-drive. In the end I think I just preferred the looks and interior of the Hyundai over the competitor from General Motors. After owning the car for a little more than one year there are no surprises. Engine power combined with the auto/manual transmission produces the performance I was looking for. Gas mileage is right on with the manufacturers numbers. Highway mileage runs very close to 30 mpg seemingly regardless of speed. The seats are quite comfortable while traveling for long periods. They also are heated or cooled depending on preference. While I have been pleased with the car, I am disappointed with two things. The ride is severely hampered by the low-profile tires making the ride to harsh for the luxury vehicle class. Something I should've taken into consideration when comparing this vehicle with the competitor from GM. I've also noted excessive wear on the driver seat in the bolster area. It appears the "imitation leather" has worn off from sliding in and out of the car. How is that possible after just 14,000 miles of use? It's not a huge problem but one that will likely get worse as the car ages. That truly has been extremely disappointing in a vehicle that stickers close to 40K. In hindsight I'm not exactly sure where this vehicle fits. It's not a sports sedan and the ride certainly doesn't qualify as a luxury cruiser. On the plus side the trunk is quite adequate, the climate control works well and the interior is spacious. I don't think this model has much of a future as the sales numbers have been dismal. Consequently the resale on this car is also not exceptionally good. It's doubtful I would buy this vehicle again but it may offer a great buy as a used vehicle. Update: Mar 2017 Just put 4,000 miles on the car in under two months. Lots of Interstate driving at high rates of speed. The vehicle performed beautifully haven't experienced any problems to date other then excessive wear on the driver seat fabric. Update Apr 2018 I've only put 3,000 miles on the vehicle since the last update. Why, because I prefer driving our compact SUV. The car was purchased for long distance trips which we've reduced to almost nothing. Not to take anything away from the vehicle, still love it and continue to recommend it for those interested in performance. Update Apr 2019 Only drive the vehicle 3 to 5 days in any given month, mostly to keep the battery charged. The older I get the less I like crawling into a low slung sedan which has nothing to do with the quality of this vehicle. Just replaced the battery, expect the life may have been shortened by lack of use. April 2021 No problems at the 26,000 mile mark. Also an indication of how little the car is used. Being retired seldom have need for a second backup vehicle. That is the purpose for which it now serves.

A Shockingly Luxurious Vehicle
You get a lot for your money buying Hyundai. The Azera is an excellent example. The competition cannot come close to the size, speed, comfort or amenities of the Azera at the price or even at a higher price. One thing to note is that the Infinity sound system is pretty good but lacks a bit on the high end, thoughyou can make up for that using the equalizer. The functions of the stereo are quite common sense and well laid out withactual buttons for many functions. The competition seem to rely far too much on the touchscreen. I don't find that I have to use the touchscreen at all for most actions as real buttons handle most common tasks from running the climate control to changing the volume. A lot of perks also exist, such as the automatic headlights. Not only do you never have to turn your headlights on manually, but even the brights are automatic. If a car is approaching head-on the brights deactivate rather quickly and reactivate once the car has passed. The timing of this feature is absolutely perfect. You COULD also manually control the lights and bypass the automatic functions, but the computer and sensors handle this so well that you won't mind relinquishing those tasks. All of the tech is bypassable including the smooth and responsive automatic transmission. The option exists to use the stick shifter to change gears manually in a small mini gate to the left of the main automatic selection gate. This can really make the large sedan feel sporty, rocketing from zero to sixty in a respectable time under 7 seconds. Of course, one also has an economy mode. I was able to squeak out 32 mpg highway and 28 mpg in-town while still driving a bit aggressively and fast. It will hold 80 mph at 2000 rpm, so you have plenty of room to achieve higher speeds. At 80, the fastest I went, the sedan feels remarkably connected to the pavement while also somehow feeling a bit light. It is like flying nore than driving given the smooth suspension. But cornering ath higher speeds was nonetheless snappy and the body did not noticeably roll. The wet road handling is OK, though the wide tires feel uneasy in heavy rain and the wheel wells really fill up with an alarming effect if you hit a large puddle. Still, the car never hydroplanes, the braking and suspension instead compensating well for the excess power that might otherwise be problematic in unfavorable elements. It does indeed have that Asian import look (many are US built), but the exterior style is well executed and modern. Not a boring car to look at. Rather the playful fins sculpted into the rear harken back to the 1957 Chevy while the aggressive hood and fascia definately remind you that this vehicle exemplifies the future. Somehow the sculpted wavy lines all work together to make for a sporty yet elegant body. Vastly prettier tha an Audi or BMW, and more exotic than a Mercedes or Cadillac, the exterior will make the owner quite happy and satisfied. You don't seem to get used to looking at this car. It sticks out in a parking lot, unapologetically shaming more expensive luxury sedans for being so boring.

Our 3rd Hyundai
We have owned a 2007 Santa Fe Limited and a 2011 Hyundai Azera Limited (both ourchased new) previous to purchasing our new 2016 Hyundai Azera Limited. We have never had a problem with either of our previous Hyundais. Very low maintainence (Oil and filter on a regular basis) and superb reliablity. Comfort and high mpg on long trips (4000 miles or more) was a plus. They are a great value compared to automobiles in the same class. The Azera Limited comes with everything. You do not have to go through a pick and choose with options. They are already there and part of the total price. This is a comfotable sedan with plenty of room and beautiful styling. As for our dealers, couldn't ask for anything better.

In love with my Azara Experiance
I can't say enough about my over all satisfaction with the 2012 and now the 2016 Azara. In 2012 I trade in my BMW 750L for the Azara, I was worried that I would be greatly disappointed but I wanted to save some money as I had to kids entering college. I was worried about NOTHING; the Azara was such a plesant surprise, it is chuck full of high end technology, fantastic look and feel, an increadably comfortable ride. With all honestly, I did not miss a single thing from my BMW. The price value was amazing and the ownership experience was even more of a pleasure. In fact I loved is so much I just picked up my new 2016 Azara Limited. I just know I'm going to love my 2016 even more then my 2012. If you have not considered an Azara you are truly missing out!

The 2016 is even better...
We had a 2014 Azera(base model) and were quite pleased with the car...but there were a few features that were not on that vehicle - mostly safety related - that I would like to have. We found a 2016 Limited with everything that we wanted. The driver's information and NAV systems have been significantly upgraded. Safety features like blind spot, rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control are a real plus. The 2014 is a good car, but we like the updates and the upgrade to the 2016 Limited model...well worth the value to us.

Awesome 2015 Limited Azera
This is my first Hyundai, and I had my doubts. But this has been, by far, the most pleasurable car that I have owned. I'm at the point in my life where I am looking for comfort over sharp driving characteristics, and this car has far exceeded my expectations. I know that it has received criticisms for steering and cornering, but honestly, I don't experience it as lacking in either. In fact, I find it quite sure footed in normal driving conditions. The navigation system has both pros and cons. It is a big step up in terms of clarity, but it is annoying that you have to type in a complete address. Even my old Prius had more intuitive software than this. But the whisper quiet ride and fantastic audio system more than make up for this shortfall. And the automatic high beams are a real plus in more rural driving conditions like we have in Arizona. Buy it and don't look back. It's been 9 months and still couldn't be happier with the car. Long trip which were excruciating in the Prius are pure pleasure in the Azera. Also, much better than expected mpgs on the highway. I average over 31 mpgs during long highway stretches. Truck is cavernous- again, making long road trips a pleasure.

New Car
Traded in 2013 Santa Fe Sport base model. Wanted something nice but also with a little more power. Drove the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger and the Impala. The Azera beats them all on value. You get a fully loaded car for the same price as their base models. I love this car and recommend to anyone looking for a full size sedan that is also a luxury sedan

1 Year with My 2016 Azera
I'm now one year in with my 2016 Hyundai Azera Limited and I still love it! This a fantastic luxury automobile without the luxury price tag. Like others have stated, I don't know why Hyundai has not talked about this car. I've never seen an ad for one and actually discoverd the Azera when I visited a Hyundai dealer a year ago to look at a Genesis. The salesperson recommended the Azera because I could get all of the Genesis luxury features at a significantly lower price point. Of course now that Hyundai is launching it's luxury Genesis brand seperate from Hyundai they are not bringing the Azera back for 2018. This decision allowed me to buy my Azera at a deep discount which was a win for me. This car has everything you could ever want in a luxury sedan and it's beautiful inside and out with sleek styling and a very well thought out cabin of comfort and conveniences. Living in hot Texas, I love my ventilated seats and automatic sun shade for the rear window. I don't think I can ever drive another vehicle that doesn't offer ventilated seats! My only gripe with this car was the oversensativity of the lane departure warning system. Luckily, the car gives you option to deactivate lane departure warning which I did. I might've liked that feature more if it actually corrected the stearing rather than just beeping at you. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic control with the backup camera are terrific features. I would also have preferred the front seat adjustments to be placed on the side of the seats as in most cars rather than on the doors and slightly difficult to reach and adjust while also sitting back at the same time. You won't find a better luxury car in the price point.

Favorite Car
Moved from a BMW to this to get around town but also feel safe on long highway trips. It’s smooth quiet and comfortable. Gas mileage is good but it really goes on highway. Not the fastest off the line but couldn’t ask for more tech and comfort from a very affordable 2015. Updates to Apple Car play too.

2016 discount dreamboat
20190809 UPDATE: Had this for just over a year and can say its worth owning. I can come up with only 1 gripe and thats the front turn signal bulbs. Theyre $30 each as they're propietary and u have to remove the front bumper to access them. Outside of that theres nothing. I've put about 13k on the car and its done a trip across the country with zero issues. Would buy over and over again. One thing i will say is pay money for good tires on this car. Really makes a huge difference. I went with continentals (DWS06's) and its almost a different car the way it drives. Its held up beautifully and looks as good as when i bought it. 2018Feb18th: Actually just picked this thing up today and have to say when they put this together they really thought of everything and then some. The outside appearance of this car is very elegant with sexy slooping lines and accents in all the right places. The interior is well thought out and even without the limited you get a truckload of features that comparable cars dont unless u spend thousands more. And they've thought of nice small touches to make u notice how amazing it is. For instance when you put the car in park at night the floorboards illuminate so you can see things.the infinity sound system is nothing short of amazing and is very crisp, capturing everything. The motor is slightly underpowered for the car but definetly provides adequate pickup while the transmission provides smooth shifts. So far we've averaged 23.5 mpgs average with both hwy and city driving and being able to whisper to each other at highway speeds. To add to it handling is everything you'd expect from a premium sedan and you can literally turn the wheel of the car with your pinky sitting still... so not for handling junkies but for those that want to enjoy the ride. Backseat room and comfort i feel is 2nd to none. There is so much room back there we had no 2nd thoughts aboht trading our 2017 Traverse on this. Plus the trunk is HUGE so plenty of room for storage. Great job hyundai and bring this baby back with unparalleled marketing to make it sell!!! Why u got rid of it i dont know... but most wont know what it is unless u explain it so market the crap out of it and bring it back (with an AWD 2.0T).

Got this used for almost half sticker price
I think I found a heck of a deal: 40k miles, 1.8 years old, half of original sticker price in really good condition. Car was a rental, everything works as it should, nothing broken. I traded my beemer because I was starting to get tired of fixing something small almost every other month. Now I should be good for a while. I like the engine and no joke, driving very conservative on Economy mode at ~60 on speedway I was reported into 35mpg by the computer - need to verify that at next refill! In city driving I got over 22mpg. The only thing I'm missing it is a moonroof; found one while shopping but it was 2 years older and more than 2K extra. I am not crazy about the Infinity sound in the high end, controls of the front seats and how the transmission downshifts when i brake. I think the Azera it is a hidden gem in the Hyundai line with luxury for the price of regular. Even my son will ask to get the Azera out for a walk every now and then... Happy Hyundai family here: I drive Azera, my wife a Sonata and my son a Genesis coupe 2.0, knock on wood no problems on any of them so far!

Outstanding Car
We've had the car nine months and we both like this car very much of different reasons. She's 5'2" I'm 6'2" and finding a good driving position is not a problem even before getting in as the switch is right on the door as you open it. Once started it is very quiet, so quite at times I'm not sure it's running without checking the tachometer. Before we leased we went to several dealers checking out the larger Buick, Toyota, BMW and Lexus, Toyota was the closes but ended up being about $3000 more. After driving all and keeping them for three days or so we both decided on the Azera Limited and we're very happy we did. Yep some of the other claim to get better gas mileage but have found Hyundai was quite honest on the mileage. Most reviews say 19 in town, we see 21. Not sure what anyone would want on a car that isn't there. For me that extra would be the sun shade for the back window, didn't think I'd ever use it but I pick up kids from school so I sit and wait. Our former car had black inside like this one and with that shade it's cooler inside. The back door windows have manual shades and the back is power, kinda wish the doors were the same. Everything on this car has been problem free and when the least is up unless major problems arise we will buy. Now for things that are odd. Control for seat is an odd place for someone with short arms, on the upper area of the door but you get use to that. Not crazy about the tires that came on it, tracking it not true so these tires will be changed, likely Pirelli. Two USB ports would be nice in the front, a better range of air flow from the center stack.

Overlooked Mini Genesis
Great car, but right in the gap between Sonata and Genesis. I am now on my 3rd Genesis, a 2017 G80 Tech 6cyl; the past 2 were 8's. We just bought a 2016 Azera Ltd to replace my Wife's 2012 Sonata. The Azera has almost all the features of my G80, and few I don't have. If you are looking, and would love to have a front wheel drive car, but like the Genesis, look at the 16+ Azera Ltd

All the bells and whistles and almost 300 HP.
Now put about 30,000 additional miles on my 2015 Hyundai Azera limited. The car runs like a top. Have had a few minor issues unrelated to the engine. Love everything about the styling both of the interior and exterior of the car. The V-6 has plenty of power. The cars interior features are designed so smartly. With the hot Summer temperatures in Delaware I use the rear window auto sunscreen everyday along with the dual climate controlled A/C. Gets good gas mileage on the highway of between 25-30MPG. If you appreciate technology this model has it. Rear back up camera, GPS, lane warning, backup warning, blue tooth, hands free cell phone, on board Sat Radio and much more. Love this car and the beauty is that you don't see many of them on the highway. This model was discontinued by Hyundai in 2018. You can buy these used, low mileage ,leather interior, fully loaded. Great styling and handling. 5 stars.

Highly recommend this car
I have never owned a car as wonderful as this one, and I have had over 50 cars in my lifetime. Even better than a Lexus I had a a few years ago. The things I like the best are the side monitoring system (its way above average), the backup camera, the comfortable seats (with heat and air conditioning), and the sound system. The technology is so easy to use especially the GPS. Really, there is not 1 single thing I would change about this car. It rides like a big car and handles like a sports car. And the gas mileage has been in the 30+ range.

Still can't pronounce name? Azera
This car is everything I need. Comfort, style, performance and luxury you don't notice. You get in it and drive, you never notice how complete this car is. It feels right. I cruise at 90 on Texas highways, drove straight through from Flagstaff Arizona to New Iberia Louisiana in comfort and safety without thinking about the car. It just performs. You feel secure in a big sedan that handles like a sport coupe when you need it to. I may have paid more than I should and I won't get a great resale but like my 07 Sonata Limited, ten years went by and no, no visits, to dealer or repair shop. I like the panoramic roof, the leather and the comfort. 2019 update : A pleasure to drive and maybe a better value than I stated. 14000 miles and my gas mileage is better now. All items function great,

ABSOLUTELY LOVVVVVEEE MY CAR
This Azera has more features than most cars in the segment and what I like the most is a lot of people do not have this car and looks stunning to go along with all of the safety and convenience features. Has almost 300 horsepower and the factory audio is very good!! Which is surprising for a factory system. Love everything about this car! And dealership can add android auto for 2016
