Poor value and not up to par with others
I have owned my ridgline for about 5 months and have not been pleased. I average consistently 16 to the gallon and that is bad for a V6, i nearly get that on my wifes f150 5.4. The brakes are starting to make a squeal at 6k and its getting annoying. very uncomfortable seats and small interior. The thing that most made me angry is my axle seals needed to be replaced at 3350 miles which seems to be common with these and electrical failure. I bought this car because my 88 honda was good. not the case with this.
stay in line with ridgeline
I just love my 06 ridgeline. I am the second owner. She has 260,406 miles on her and still runs great. It needs a paint job, the Florida sun cancer got the roof and hood. Best truck ever!!!

This is the one! Thanks Honda!!
Since making the decision to purchase my Honda Ridgeline I've been loving life. I look for excuses to take it for a drive (Oh, we need milk)! Everything about the truck is very cleverly designed and executed. Drives like a Honda, like youre on rails (very responsive). Transmission shifts smooth as silk. Uni-body = no shutter between cab and bed (unlike Tacoma ). 4 wheel indi- suspension = superior ride (unlike Tacoma ). 3 large adults can and have sat very comfortably in rear seat. Its like Honda looked at all the competition and came up with a far superior way to build their product! If you are in the market, just take it for a test drive and compare for yourself. This is a great Vehicle.
Still in love with my Ridgeline!!
Bought my truck new in 2006. 194,000 miles later I am still in love with my Ridgeline RTL. Still rides great, comfortable, quiet with no rattles or squeaks. I have hauled everything in it over the years and it works for me. Have had no issues with this vehicle and will buy a new one in a couple years. Big fan of this truck!!!

2006 Honda Ridgeline
I have owned toyota, ford, chevy, GMC, dodge and this Ridgeline is by far the best overall value. It is the best handling, most solid and comfortable truck compared to all the others. Very satisfied.
Opening the rear hatch and tailgate and 17 de snow
The tailgate and toolbox was the main reason that I bought the crew cab i bought my Ridgeline it has been very work worthy for me as just now this January the 18th left my work boots in the cargo truck gate in the in the bed snow was all covered and ice in the bed of the truck went out didn't think I was going to be able to get it open without having to pour water to melt snow and ice open the tailgate folded it out no problem open gate for the storage no problem open up I was so happy Honda thanks keep up the good work and I really enjoy my 2006 Honda Ridgeline with 208,000 miles

3 year owner
This vehicle has exceeded all my expectations. Exactly what I needed to bridge the SUV, to truck market. Meets both expectations providing you are not going to try to pull a house. Mileage on road has reached 23, in town especially in winter maybe 16. Mileage on vehicle 45000, no problems, no signs of problems and love the truck. The below bed trunk can easily store three large coolers, and nice to see the spare out of the weather. Rear seat compartment borders on monstrous. Can store three fairly large toolboxes under the seat along with a four foot level. If you are looking for a small truck, that drives like a car with great traction in snow, this is the vehicle.
Ground clearance
Love the truck for highway and town driving - BUT. Gravel roads which are poorly maintained are a problem. Roads which can be driven uneventfully by Toyota and Big 3 trucks cause the Honda to scrape repeatedly and in my case a rear strut broke. Great highway vehicle but don't go too far from maintained roads.
Easy Rider
Shopped and compared trucks for 9 months before setteling on this truck. I wanted a truck that I could use in my surveying business and that I could use for travelling to my second home which is 500 miles one way. This is by far the most comfortable riding truck I have ever ridden in. The rear seat area allows for the transporting of expensive and sensitive survey instruments without worry. The in bed trunk keeps other field supplies handy and I don't have to unload these items everyday when I return to the office. This means that the truck bed area is almost always available for use. The safety features standard on this truck were not available on competitors models. I will buy another one.
Best everyday truck ever
This truck does exactly what I need - it carries in the bed stuff I would never want inside a car or SUV but doesn't suffer all the negatives a regular truck would (bad gas mileage, bad ride, etc.) It has plenty of power for everyday driving, as long as you're not trying to race. As for the complaints about gas mileage, if you drive the way you should to conserve gas, you'll get what I get, which is 19-20 mpg every tank, and that is using the AC at all times, driving a mix of highway and surface roads. No one complains about the V6 4x4 Crew Cab Nissan Frontier getting 17 mpg, so why the complaints here?
SUV + Truck = Ridgeline
Great comfort and options at a reasonable price. The quality of the features more than justify the slightly higher price than other midsize trucks (Frontier and Tacoma) The Ridgeline is actually cheaper than a similar equipped Dakota except that you can't get the big V8 power. It's a cross between the SUV that my wife wanted and the truck I wanted. At first glance the styling is strange but it grows on you very quickly - if you like the look of the Avalanche you will love the look of the Ridgeline.
Great Truck
My third Honda and just as great as the others. Total quality and very functional. Flaws? It does have a blind spot where the rear pillers are but the mirror helps illiminate it. I would definitely recommend this vehicle. Lots of power and creature comforts.
Great truck, ready to go out of the box
I love all the fun things with this truck, but there are some down sides. Turning radius is not good. Headlight switch gets turned on when getting out at times (at your left knee). No bluetooth with nav. Some good things are I pull my ski boat (3000 lb) with no problems. In fact the truck handles great with a trailer behind it. The ride is very good. Stock sound system is good. Dash has a great looking display. Back seats fold up to make lots of room in the back.
Ride like a ridge...
The Ridgeline's interior is spacious. Lots of leg room for front and rear passengers. Headroom is big. Ease of use of A/C, radio and CD. No need to crawl from your seat to reach a certain knob. The exterior is like you've never seen in a truck before. Roomy bed, with a hidden closet under the bed. Now the tailgate is a must to mention, its got dual action. Pull it down or just swing it to the side. The V6 3.5L is just right for me. With its gas prices now, good thing they only make it in a V6.
Happy buyer
The trunk on the ridgeline is the best idea for a pickup. Larger bed would have helped. Made to drive on long trips in comfort. Backseat fold up gives more room for backseat storage. Good service at Atlantic Honda, keeps me informed of needed maintenance.
My driving this honda ridgeline
I really enjoy driving this truck drive beautiful, handle the road and curve easy, drove it to the mountain in Gatlinburg Tennessee it handle the high hills with no problem. not too bad on gas.
Honeymoon
I have only had my Ridgeline for 10 days and I am excited about driving this truck for a long time. I think Honda built this truck for me. It fits very well for my truck needs. This truck is incredible to drive. It has a solid, firm yet comfortable ride. The driving position is one of control and security. It is simply fun and easy to drive. I don't do off road 4 wheeling, but I do live on steep, winding gravel roads, and I have yet to break traction in any driving situation. I look forward to seeing how the truck goes in the snow. I got slightly over 19mpg on my first tank of gas, which I am very happy with, as it was all around town, out in the country, run like a mad man driving.
Why they call me HOT TRUCK!
I was one of the first to purchase this odd looking truck back in May '05, and I must say 18 mos later, it is the most fun ride I have had since my Nissan 300 Z in 1984. Super reliable, a real head turner, and fulfills all my suburban/back road weekend needs and fantasies. Every time I stop for gas, a guy will come up and ask to see inside, and get my opinion. I outright love it! I don't understand why it isn't a big seller, but that's ok, because it just makes mine look that much more unique. HONDA really hit this one outta the park, as far as I'm concerned.
Awesome Truck!
Best mid-size truck on the market. Great in heavy snow, and traction/control/handling is better than big 4x4s due to independent suspension & awd drive. I drive almost daily in lake Tahoe area with great ease. Drives like a car, but it's a truck. No maintenance issues either. Over 42k miles, and only in the shop for regular maintenance. 3.5l 24- valve, v-tech power is exceptional; it down- shifts on slight hills due to high overdrive gearing; big 4x4 diesels (Ford, Chevy, Dodge) eat my dust/exhaust; so no power worries for future owners. The big-3 auto makers better get their act together soon; I can see the Ridgeline evolving into a truck w/more capability than any 4x4 on the market
Great "truck"
Absolutely love my truck, I have to be honest though, it took some getting used to. When I first bought my ridgeline i would see the toyota tacoma and think i was missing something, until i test drove it! what a sloppy piece of work! compared to the ridgeline the tacomas interior is cramped, and the handling and steering felt so bad! bravo honda!
Oh my God!
Love my Honda. Rides Great and the interior is awesome. However, I'm not used to having a cruise control on switch that if isn't on the steering wheel
Honda Ridgeline
This truck is great. It is extremely quiet. The interior is great. It is very comfortable, and this is the only truck available on the market that is reliable, safe, dependale, and that has a decent fuel economy. That's why I love it. It has everything, and the quality is excellent.
Best Truck Ever
Traded my 2002 F250 for Ridgeline. Best move I ever made. Drives and handle like a sports car. Wife loves inbed trunk for shopping. Gas mileage is great compared to 8 mpg from F250, I'm getting 18mpg from Ridgeline. I have tall kids and the interior room and comfort is great. Wish the bed was longer and that the tail gate locked, but driving this truck is like having my truck and sports car at the same time.
Truck of the Year
This is the best truck on the road. It drives like a car sometimes better than a car. ONE COMPLAINT it needs battery run down protection or something along those lines. With some of the switches for interior light and cargo light on a toggle like switch it can be accidentally hit when exiting the car. Which I did only to get into the vehicle the next day to a run down battery. I would buy again and I am a converted Honda fan.
2006 Ridgeline
So far so good with a recent purchase of the Honda ridgline. The vehicle handles and drives well. I recently towed a large boat with it and it handled it like a champ. Very well engineered. Kudos to Honda.
I lvoe my ridgeline
I have had my Ridgeline for 7 months now and love it. It rides great, has plenty of space, gets good fuel mileage and has had no mechanical problems in 10,000+ mile (cant say that for my last Chevy or Ford) My fuel mileage is usually 20 - 22 on the highway and drops to 18-19 when pulling two heavy 4 wheelers. This is the first truck that I have had that might wife likes to drive which is also a bonus. I like it much better than my previous full sized Ford or Chevy as it feel and is finished like a nice SUV rather than a pickup truck.
best I've ever owned
This car/truck is the most comfortable, versatile, and stable vehicle I've owned. It replaces an F- 150 and a Honda Pilot. Well satified with both, neither is as much fun to drive nor as pracitcal. It hauls and tows willingly, has a cavernous interior, yet, it's easier to park and handles better than the Pilot and it's more stable on the road than the F-150 or the Pilot. My wife drives it around town, and I on the road to work. Were we to replace it, it would be with a comparable model 2007 Ridgeline.
Gold Wing of midsize pickups
After owning a 91 Ranger since 91, the 2006 "Ridge" is about everything I needed and wanted in a replacement. I have the RTL for the leather - and didn't want the extras of moon roof and nav. So far, I've driven 975 miles since purchase and experience with 4 adults on a 200+ mile trip. Not one - all seniors - was unhappy with either front or rear seats. Conversation at normal levels while cruising @ 75mph - a quiet ride. Learning curve is steeper than other new vehicles I've owned since 1959. Avg mpg after 2 fills is 18.2+ mpg. A little sensitive to Wyoming winds - not nearly as bad as '05 Tacoma doublecab. Power & brakes both feel good. It is a excellent luxury vehicle with lot of work potential.
My Wife's Ridgeline RTL.
Comfortable, smooth, quiet, and enjoyable ride. Handles extremely easy and drives like a dream for a large vehicle. Everything is right at your finger tips. It appears wider and higher than the SUV's but very easy to drive. We have had Honda's since 1987 buying Accords, Civics and CR-V for ourselves and children because of the safety and reliability of Honda vehicles. Ridgeline is a great addition to the Honda line and has met our needs in an all around vehicle can't wait for the snow.
Ford,Chevy,Dodge, take some lessons!!!!!
Fast, fun, reliable, does it all. Ive had all the American trucks and none come close to the comfort and ease of owning a truly versatile truck like the Honda. Honda thinks of everything and doesn't screw it up. Everything from a passenger side lighted vanity mirror to the 2 way tailgate makes everyone happy. Parks easily, steering is fast and precise. Loaded 600 lbs of slate on the trunk hatch and it handled that easily. Quality is far superior to Chevy's crappy interiors and ill fitting parts. The Canyon is total junk and cannot believe that GM still produces such unforgivably poor quality vehicles.Who designes such junk? maybe refrigerator mechanics. The Honda is also very comfortable.
Simply Amazing!!
We've had this truck for over a year and it never ceases to amaze us. We do a lot of long-distance driving and with the Ridgeline, it's a lot of fun - even with the cold winters in the north. We look forward to the snowstorms now! We're pushing our 50's so we've had a few vehicles in our past and this is the best yet!
murrays truck
The ridgeline is a comfortable and capable truck that is meant for the consumer that hauls small payloads and requires a useful automobile for everyday life. The ridgeline is not just a work truck but a great family vehicle.
Great All Purpose Vehicle
If you are looking for a vehicle to haul the family, move cargo, and is as comfortable at a work site as a formal evening event, the Honda Ridgeline is your type of vehicle. It is a great truck for the weekend "do it yourself" type. Not a truck for heavy duty construction. Terrific ride with front wheel drive when the computerized 4WD isn't kicked in. This is the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. Highly recommend it to someone who wants a car like ride with a box for hauling bikes, lawnmowers, etc. The trunk under the bed is a brilliant feature that really enhances your hauling capabilities. Overall, Honda has hit a home run in their first venture into the pickup market.
It's a great all around truck
I love this truck! I have owned a chevy, and ford 4WD. And the Honda is the most versatile truck I've owned. The ride comfort is superior to any truck on the road. Although it is a midsize pickup, you would never know that sitting in it. It is very roomy even two adult males can sit in the back seat very comfortably without having their knees dug into the back of the front seats. The Honda is a nice balance between hauling/towing and a smooth comfortable ride that's roomy enough for day to day use.
honda vs. chevy
i traded in a chevy colorado for this truck. the honda is wider and can fit 3 kids in the back seat better. the chevy got 19 mpg with a 3.5L 5cyl 220 hp vs. the honda 18 mpg 3.5 L v6 244 hp.
Great Truck
I test drove every truck out there before I purchased this truck and 16 months and 17000 miles later I love it more then ever. The only problem I have is keeping my wife from taking my Ridgeline, which she prefers to drive over her infiniti.
Must drive to appreciate
It is a fantastic driving vehicle giving you a feeling of size, power and great handling as well as ample accelaration when needed. You feel like you are driving a large comfortable SUV rather than a bouncy pickup.I also own an Odyssey and the cab space of the two is almost identical. I have two car seats in the back and the kids really enjoy the ride(5 & 3)especially when I open the roof and rear window!!
Ridgeline Review
This is the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned! I have had it 8 months and it is fantastic! I have owned other 4wd vehicles but this one came equipped with everything! The flexibility that comes from having a lockable trunk, comfortable 5 passenger seating and bed built for hauling 4 x 8 sheets of plywood, in addition to having built-in tiedowns, bed lights for loading at night and the power to pull my 20 ft fiberglass boat with extra motor and gear is unique!!! I would definitely recommend this vehicle to my friends!!!
in the shop already
the reat strut is blown at 1100 miles, never towed, no loads, dealer told me 3- 5 days for part, and no loaner car. honda is a joke on customer satisfaction, he said the part had to be made, how do they make ridgelines on the assembly line? what's next, will the engine lock up? gas mileage is over stated, i bought it for the mileage, what a joke!
WILD E COYOTE
Lacks power compared to V8s available in other manufacturers. Poor fuel economy based on more power needed to accelerate at highway speeds and pulling over hills. Very bumpy ride, rattles in doors, door sills not aligned properly, squeaks.
not what they used to be, expected more.
I have owned many makes and models and this is not one i recomend. I own a 2004 chevrolet silverado and a 2003 dodge ram as well currently. my son drives the ram which has 43000 and my wife has 19500 on her chevy and they have been far better on quality and simular on gas with large V8's. i bought this due to the old rep for reliability that honda has. I had my instrument panel replaced due to failure and my axle is having some trouble. and on an 06' with 5500 miles this is not good.
Excellent Design
Traded in a terrible GM product for my Ridgeline after testing them when my wife was deciding between one and the Pilot. The truck is solid, dependable and sturdy. Plenty of room, plenty of functionality, great handling.
Bought when first released
I got my Ridgeline in April of '05 when they were first released. I was driving an '04 Acura TSX and loved it, but needed more utility, and certainly got it! Love the "regular" opening rear doors, split folding rear seats, trunk, bed extender, bed lights, multi- opening tailgate, power, 4wd. Much more useful truck than my '01 Silverado with the "suicide" rear half doors and non-split folding rear seat; somewhat better gas mileage. I stopped commuting a couple of years ago so haven't racked up the miles like I used to, but no issues other than the [common] one below. A great car/truck/suv all rolled into one!
Dependable
We love our Ridgeline except suggested improvements see below). Have over 50K and still runs quiet like new. We pull a boat about 4,000 lbs and it is fine but not real good mileage. It has no rattles inside is quiet and my dog and kids can't hurt the interior.
Leave the trucks to people who know them
When we bought this vehicle, the dealer told us it could outpull a ford or dodge, pretty impressive, so we bought it. Not even close. My old Ranger could outhaul it. On top of that, it had cramped interior compared to similar sized trucks and it was one of the ugliest vehicles I've ever seen. If you want a REAL truck, go with ford, dodge, or even a chev
rich man's trap
Piece of crap. Not good for anything other than saying you own a truck. All dash lights gone out or going out at 50000 miles. Radio light out at 60000 miles. Odometer light on dash blinks on and off. Every trip to dealer ship for oil change recommends a 400$ service. Pushed me rite into a Toyota Tacoma. Never will I own another honda. Better have deep pockets. Pos!

I'll never buy a Honda again
So were do I start? I could start with the creaky and rattling interior. Or I could talk about what a joke the gas mileage is compared to what they claim it will be. But most of all this car is just a piece of garbage. Can't wait until the lease is over and I can go and get a decent truck or SUV. Honda may do a good job with cars, but trucks and SUVs are not their thing . For what the Ridgeline cost me ($32K) I could have purchased a number of other better trucks or SUV's. Do yourself a favor and don't make my mistake.....buy something else.
ridgeline
I bought this vechile for the saftey features as well as the space. i traded in a 03 toyota 4runner for this vechile. I have enjoyed driving it, its extremely smooth ride. the kids have more room than before. as well as having the trunk in the back. i wouldnt trade this truck.
A must look see for Honda Lovers
For those of you that have wanted a truck but hesitated because a truck bed is not convienient for day to day around town shopping/groceries type activities, then this is the truck for you! The in bed trunk solves all your problems and it comes with the Honda Quality and attention to detail on top of it all!
What Subaru?
I traded my '04 Subaru Forester XT for the Ridgeline. My wife asked me if I regretted that decision and I responded with "what Subaru?". The Ridgeline rides and handles like a sedan but has the utility of a AWD pickup. The interior is luxurious, spacious, and has numerous nooks and crannies for storage. After driving it for 5000 miles I couldn't imagine life without it.
