Used 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 9A) Consumer Reviews
Great Van, Need Better Front Seats!
I really like our new 2018 Odyssey. Great infotainment in the front and so much room particularly when you have the 3rd row folded. 280 HP is great to have to accelerate out of situations and the steering is really tight and nice. I like the 2 memory settings for the driver a lot. I will say my one gripe that I have is the front seats... I am 6'3'' 275lbs and the seats are not deep/long enough to support my thighs properly and the width of the seat is not wide enough. I have noticed the door side bolster on the seat being pushed down as its a bit narrow. My wife who is 5'3'' 120lbs thinks they are very comfortable front seats. This is her car so that's fine. But on family trips I am always the one driving and for the men out there who are over 6'1 and have a bigger bottom, its noticeable. In comparison, I can drive my 2009 GMC Yukon all day long non stop and be 100% comfortable... after an hour to an hour and a half in the Odyssey, I feel it.

A step down
Traded a 2007 for the 2018. The 2007 was more comfortable inside and definitely had more cargo space. For example, the second row seats folded almost horizontally on the 2007 and thus one could store things on top of them if needed. Not so with the 2018. They fold to maybe 45 degree angle at best. The second row removable seat had a nice storage compartment in the 2007. In the 2018 it has to be removed and put in the basement. Seating is comfortable but not quite at the level of the earlier model. Electronic aids are useful and work well. The interval cruise control is the best. What happened to the nice change holders from 2007? The center console is deep and holds a lot but good luck digging stuff out. May sound complaining but we really like the Odyssey and would buy/lease another. We enjoy traveling in it. We feel safe.

Could be better
I have owned this 2018 Odyssey EX L. Minor issues so far, but, first new car that have had so many recalls in only 3 years of ownership. I have been an avid Toyota fan since I was a teenager and decided to give new Hondas a try. Between 16k-18k miles, started having steering wheel vibration when braking at speeds above 30 mph. Brought it to be checked out at the dealership I bought it from. They are charging $175 to turn the front rotors. I still have my 2014 Toyota Venza which is driven the same way odyssey is driven, with 65k miles and still haven't done anything with the rotor and on original pads. I bought the wife a 2020 Pilot and at less than 3700 miles, I already have a the same steering wheel vibration when braking at speeds above 30 mph. Dealer turned the rotors. It only shows that there is a material issue here. Jerky shifts from 1st to second gear, intermittently. Otherwise, van handles well, comfortable, excellent gas mileage with good cargo space. Honda should look at the brake rotor suppliers and they should stand behind they product if issues like these are encountered by new car buyers if care has less than 36k miles

Nice improvements over '16 model
Lots of new tech features over previous model. The darn thing drives itself if there are road center and shoulder lines. Very nice. Ride seems to also be quieter than the '16 model, larger wheels probably help as well. Good value, especially with all the new gadgets. Priced about the same as previous model with many additional features.

Great baby hauler
Overall this minivan has turned out better than we thought. We needed something to haul a baby & a toddler and all their stuff around (stroller, toys, diapers, bottles, blankets, ... ) and our compact SUV wasn't cutting it anymore, esp. when you had to sit between the carseats to enjoy "stereo" crying. The car steers pretty smoothly, similar feel to our Subaru Forester. It has a lot of nice little perks, esp love Android Auto and all the charging ports. Very comfortable ride and even when you are sitting between the carseats, you don't feel wedged.
